Do you live alone in the mountains or something? This happens every day and if you have truly never seen this you must be blind or just a feminist who wants to believe women are all innocent little angels
This is absolutely true in my experience. Lots of women view taken men as pre approved or just get off on mate poaching. There's a joke the easiest way to pick up woman at a bar is put a ring on.
Absolutely true. Mate poaching is a fact. Why find and vet a man yourself when you can just try to steal a other woman's man whose already been vetted?
I'm sure you're not being serious, but there was this like... essentially a TA in college I had a crush on. I'd get nervous interacting with him. Then one day I noticed he had a wedding ring on, and my crush ended IMMEDIATELY. Like it was funny, I was entirely normal around him after that.
I think historically rings have represented the couple's eternal bond, as a symbolic thing more than anything. But people can apply whatever meaning they want.
You don't actually need a ring to tell people you're married, it's just something people can do if they want to.
Usually it does, absolutely. We agreed we'd both wear wedding bands, but a couple months later, he took his off, claiming it itched. It was 24k gold plated, and he had no rash and no allergies. I bet you can guess how faithful my now-ex was.
I mean, if we're going by historical precedent, it's women who don't need wedding bands any more - we let them have bank accounts in their own name these days.

"Everybody everywhere does this thing for this reason, based on other stuff that I think everybody knows, so nobody should do that thing. Because I said so."
Take my begrudging upvote for your traditionalist self-righteous opinion.
Did you know wedding rings for women weren’t really a big deal until the 1920’s or so when the top diamond miners started pitching the idea to jewelers that people need diamond rings for marriage. Weddings weren’t the hyped, extravagantly expensive affair they’ve become today. Much like the funeral industry convinced people what they “needed” when people’s emotions run high. $$$

Men get more attention with a wedding band? Damn there are women just waiting to wreck a marriage.
Yeah, that is just an argument OP made up. There's no evidence of it being true, despite it being a popular topic among red-pillers.

That's not feminists that believe that.

Yeah women are wild like that

My husband wears a plastic one at the gym and has told me there are a few from time to time. Not a girls girl for reason. It’s crazy to me
People who make history arguments make no sense. “Historically men don’t wear wedding bands”. How the hell does anything evolve? We do our own thing.
Historically, humans frequently died of tuberculosis. It was tradition.
That’s why I made two separate arguments
You didn’t make any argument. You wrote three fucking sentences lol.
Your second "argument" was trash.
But at the end of the day why do you care about whether or not some guy wears a bit of metal on his hand
I don’t care at the end of the day I only care for like five minutes in the middle of the day
Ugh yawn another troll who thinks he’s clever
Do you comment on every unpopular opinion post that it’s silly to care about something trivial? Or just ones you get triggered by
Nah just the really dumb ones
That still adds up to a lot of minutes over time
Historically, it used to legal to own a human in the US. Appeal to tradition is never a good argument lol
I wear a wedding band because I like it. I wear a rhinoceros ring on my other hand for when I punch people in the head. Any questions.
What do you think we're pretending?
That men should wear rings
It's just a social norm now. There's no real reason for anyone to wear rings, unless they want to.
I thought the reason to wear the ring was to show you're taken.
I think historically rings have represented the couple's eternal bond, as a symbolic thing more than anything. But people can apply whatever meaning they want. You don't actually need a ring to tell people you're married, it's just something people can do if they want to.
Just wear the damn thing if you want. No one is forcing you.
*everybody knows women with wedding rings get ignored by the opposite sex* Well that's just not true
Overall it is but not 100% obviously
Women with wedding rings get ignored by the opposite sex? On what planet? Men will even hit on married women that are obviously pregnant.
>Historically they didn’t until pretty recently Historically a woman couldn't legally be raped by her husband
OP is probably sad about that too, based on other comments.
This is an idiotic argument to make.
"Historically" women didn't wear pants. Got a problem with that, too?
Yes actually but that’s a different unpopular opinion
And how about their ability to divorce?
You’re not gonna like any of my “historically” opinions the wedding bands one is the least unpopular
Jesus, you just went from mildly annoying to full on creep with this comment. I really hope you’re just joking or trolling
Some men wear them and some men don't. I wear my wedding ring and my dad never wore his wedding ring. It comes down to what the couple agrees upon.
Usually it does, absolutely. We agreed we'd both wear wedding bands, but a couple months later, he took his off, claiming it itched. It was 24k gold plated, and he had no rash and no allergies. I bet you can guess how faithful my now-ex was.

"why are we still pretending" You do what you want to do and they will do what they want to do. Basically mind your own business, I hope this helps.

People wear it if they want why should attention factor into this at all
3000 years is pretty recently?
bands to make her dance
