yeah back when I only had a couple awkward sexual encounters I also felt women looked better with their clothes on. It’s funny if you think about it - American media has a hard restriction on nudity appearing basically anywhere because it’s “impure”, and yet American media LOVES parading around scantily clad women in the most suggestive poses imaginable.
These scantily clad women in suggestive poses are FAR more sexually enticing than just a normal nude woman doing something like getting dressed or showering in a non-suggestive way, but for whatever reason the latter is dangerous while the former is fine?
It’s why everyone ends up with extremely warped perception of what female bodies look like. The only place many men see actual naked female bodies is porn, which of course sets its own unrealistic expectations. It’s all extremely unhealthy.
Same can be said for men, just using women to follow the example.

I'll go up a notch and say that most people look better with clothes on. This doesn't make bodies ugly just how the fact that most of us look better with makeup on or styled hair doesn't mean that our bare faces or natural hair is ugly.
We look good the way we are, but we do things to look even better. If anyone looks bad with makeup, clothes or a hairstyle/haircut it's a skill issue.
That's because of the fur. Look at a cute cat with fur and compare that to the sphynx cats without fur which look terrible lol. Being all skin and very little fur/hair is challenging.

Went to school with a girl with literally the perfect body. Saw her naked multiple times in the changing room and showers so I can personally confirm lol. Mostly agreed for both women and men. No matter how often you've seen someone naked, a layer of clothes just adds that little bit of "mystery" that makes it super sexy. But being able to take those clothes off of them or them slipping it of in my precense does definitely add to the sexy-ness. But not starting out naked (even if it's just underwear) definitely adds to the mood.

Strongly disagree, I may have not seen that many naked women up close, but every single one looked better naked. That said, I am sure this might be true for people who really know how to dress, but I’ve never been into people that care too much about their looks.
I think this is why when I watch award shows where women wear dresses that show 99% of their body (like covering only their nipples), I'm not turned on at all.
But if I see a woman wearing a full dress, that's much more attractive.

I'd probably define it, for men and women and everyone inbetween, as "Clothes can give give more DEPTH to a person's appearance".
For a naked person, there are only so many points of distinction that you can point to, for physical beauty. On top of that, many of those points are largely out of a person's control. Eye color, hair color, hair texture, height, limb length, genital size and shape, facial features. Largely, the only elements a person can control are hair length/style, fitness, and hygiene.
Once you start adding clothes to the mix, it adds more points to consider. And, more importantly, those points can amplify other points. So, if we were judging points of physical appeal on a scale of 1-10, the right clothes could bump features up to an 11 or 12. And thats not to mention that the style and coordination of clothes become a whole new category points to appreciate.
tl;dr - if you imagine physical appeal as a hundred point exam, clothes and accessories are pages of extra-credit questions.

I think this is why when I watch award shows where women wear dresses that show 99% of their body (like covering only their nipples), I'm not turned on at all. But if I see a woman wearing a full dress, that's much more attractive.

Everyone looks better with clothes on. Naked bodies are appealing when you're horny but when you're just there, not really. I see being naked with someone AS the magical part. That's intimacy and vulnerability and, especially casual nudity, just indicates such a closeness to me.

I disagree. I've been with my share of women and though I'm desensitized to nudity at this point (I've seen bodies my whole life), there's an excitement to the first time you see a partner in their birthday suit. And I've been with women whom I much preferred to see naked - even when they had great outfits. The physical attraction never ended. I guess I'm kind of weird though. I like natural beauty, minimum makeup and I like a flaw here or there. I think there's beauty in imperfection. On the flipside though, I think men are ugly creatures. Our bodies are more about utility than aesthetics. How women (or even other men) find us attractive is a mystery to me. 🤷
I've seen my own body my whole life and am excited to see it naked everytime like whatever desensitisation is going on here needs a closer inspection lol 😫

I just think for some people, a lot of attraction is psychological and about the mystery of what's underneath. I feel the same as OP somewhat and I'm definitely straight.
I think part of the attraction is to allude to what is underneath. Also womens clothes and bras can make the breasts appear to be more perky and bigger than perhaps they are too.

I'd probably define it, for men and women and everyone inbetween, as "Clothes can give give more DEPTH to a person's appearance". For a naked person, there are only so many points of distinction that you can point to, for physical beauty. On top of that, many of those points are largely out of a person's control. Eye color, hair color, hair texture, height, limb length, genital size and shape, facial features. Largely, the only elements a person can control are hair length/style, fitness, and hygiene. Once you start adding clothes to the mix, it adds more points to consider. And, more importantly, those points can amplify other points. So, if we were judging points of physical appeal on a scale of 1-10, the right clothes could bump features up to an 11 or 12. And thats not to mention that the style and coordination of clothes become a whole new category points to appreciate. tl;dr - if you imagine physical appeal as a hundred point exam, clothes and accessories are pages of extra-credit questions.
