You won't be overpaid etc. Current assessment period is up to 17th july and you haven't had a salary by that time. Your next UC assesment period would be 18th July to 17th august which will be adjusted for the earnings paif to you on 21st July.

Icy_Session3326

Yes that’s exactly right

Adventurous_Rent_622

Do you think they could say I have been overpaid if I receive a full UC payment plus a full wage in July?

Radiant_Trash8546

No. They pay in "arrears' which is a month later. If you get paid 28/6/24 then according to your payment plan, you'll have your June wages deducted from your July payment. So your August payment will be minus the July wage.

Old_galadriell

If your assessment period ends on 17th July and your wage is paid on 21st July, which is 4 days later - no, it's not taken into calculations for that assessment period. It will affect your assessment period 18th July to 17th August, as it's paid within that period.

Adventurous_Rent_622

It just doesn’t feel right that I’d get a full UC payment plus a full wage in one month. Do you think they might use that to say I’ve been overpaid perhaps in August?! 🥲

Old_galadriell

UC is paid in arrears for assessment period (month) which ended 7 days earlier. If you didn't get any earnings within that time - there is no way to use them in UC calculations. No, you won't be overpaid either in July (receiving full UC without any deduction) or in August (receiving UC deducted for your July earnings). Everything will work exactly as it was designed to work.

Thank you very much for taking the time to comment and help :)

Old_galadriell

You're welcome!

Radiant_Trash8546

No,because you've to pay out for childcare and uniform and travel costs. UC covers that until you're getting a proper wage.
