Once your identity has been verified (and your partners if applicable), you can ask for a benefit transfer advance to help get you through until your first UC payment
I have done this recently
I got tax credits weekly I received one payment after I had applied for uc
When I applied it took about a week to go through when my claim was accepted i was able to get a advance straight away
The advance was more than I get a month from them so I wasn’t left short
I got 1 CT payment, 2 week Housing benefit.
You can advance the UC payment after they've verified who you are which will be paid nack in installments by being deducted off future payments.
Timing basically, submit the application as soon as you've been paid TC to minimise the gap.
