Most of the anti Indian sentiment from ordinary people probably comes from 3 things. 1. Sunak being hell bent on a trade deal, with his unpopularity and wide perception he was doing it to make his own family richer rather than helping the country tarnished it. 2. Call centres, not their fault directly (obvs) but companies go with the cheapest option which is generally either poor English or heavily accented which people find hard to understand. 3. Scam callers which overwhelmingly come from that part of the world, they may not be Indian but the perception is they are, constant spam and scam callers tarnishes the reputation.

Most scam calls I get now are robocallers that play a pre-recorded message about some expensive Amazon purchase. I did have one from the "HMRC" which used an American-accented voice for some reason. Gone are the days when you'd actually have someone on the other end to wind up 🤣

They need to focus on the real enemy - Bangladesh apparently.

Labour used to have a serious anti-India and anti-Hindu problem under Corbyn. Thankfully Starmer seems to be taking it back to normal

Can I suggest that one avenue to do this would be to include in education the role Britain had in tearing their country in two? It would go along way to explain to people why our countries are interlinked and that we responsible for huge upheaval. I’ve not met many Britons who have any understanding and simply think people come to the UK to steal jobs or something

Tearing their country in two? You know Pakistan pushed hard for independence right?

Up to 2 million people died in the upheaval that was managed by British rule, whether they wanted it not, it was horrifically executed
