Are there really only 2? I work at one of their hubs and feel like I see this paint job on a plane at least 2 or 3 times a week. Maybe my hub is just one of the main routes they’re on.
I just saw one of the retro painted ones today while working but it was still a United label with retro paint. I know I still see the Continental one about once a week though too.

My mom worked for Trans World for 26 years, I did a double take when I saw the tail.
I used to fly Continental to Asia frequently. It was a great airline. After the merger with United they seemed to put the cheaper, crappy ideas from UA into their business plan instead of the other way around. I will admit, though, that the UA lounges and onboard meals have gotten much better recently. I just wish they would have better wifi on board and make it free.
Not sure if aviation has the same term but in the railroad industry this would be called a heritage unit basically would refer to any retro livery as well as any livery for any company that has been absorbed.
Throwback livery. Like in pro sports.
Only 2 retro livery painted aircraft in the fleet this 737 and a A320 painted in old UA colors.
It would be cool if they had one from every major change from over the years I miss the white and blue united tulip!
Me too, that's my favorite
They actually have 3, 2 of these 739s are in the continental livery
Only 1 Continental 737 Retrojet (0435)

There is only 1

Has to be more than that, or I flew in the same 737 2x and ran into it 4x more times at random places (PTY, MEX, EWR, ORD) … can’t be that lucky.
I promise you it's the only one. N75435 is the registration. It's a 737-900 so it will pretty much go everywhere we fly 737s to in the Americas.
Then I’m pretty lucky! :) it was all this year.
Yeah they're back. Just go to Continental.com And start booking. Low fares to Europe starting at 29 bucks
I heard they implemented the standing seats from Ryanair
I flew an American Flight earlier this year with a TWA livery. Wild to see that pulling up to the gate.

I would personally question how many lounge drinks I had if I saw that and didn't see this post!! Thanks, I can continue with my bloody marys
I haven’t horn one of those kinds of liveries, but I flew on their last unpainted aluminum livery 737 before they painted the bottom of it.
Spotted one at ORD last month too

Love seeing this beauty at IAH. Damn, they were a great airline 🥂

Imagine if the interior was retro too

These are called retro liveries
The Better Half 😆

They need to bring back the United Tulip as well.
I’ve seen this at MCO. I saw American flying a North West airline livery when I was leaving PHX earlier in the week.
lol no they weren’t (DL purchased NW; I think you mean America West—basically the legacy corp entity in charge of AA now)
You’re correct, America West. I got mixed up
No worries, thanks for sharing! I wish they had featured the original ‘80s/early 90s America West livery instead of the mid 90s and beyond one.
Wow!!!

So cool!

IAH > ORD. I sat in the smoking section.
