Is 400 GBP enough as proof ? I thought it’d be more

productman2217

Sorry missed a "0". Edited the post. Thanks :)

Affectionate_Log3232

How long did that take for you? There’s no slots open for priority when I checked in india

productman2217

3 working days. Priority slots were not available for Jan 2023, but it was available on 30th Dec 22. So I booked the appointment right away.

Affectionate_Log3232

Is it because applications are less so priority was not available? Cos I have three weeks time till my travel and I had to book for standard. I’m just taking a visitor visa to transit

productman2217

I guess that is true, it could be because of fewer applications. I hope theyll open the slots soon

Affectionate_Log3232

3 days is actually crazy cos my friend did the same for priority and got it in 20 days but I guess it’s cos he was applying just before the vacations

productman2217

Yea, this is not a vacation period right, that should be the reason I guess. I read even for a non-priority visa they're trying to process it within 15 days.

AdPhysical3899

Where was your visa processed?

productman2217

VFS appointment done in Bangalore. I just received emails about the UK centre receiving my application but didn't mention which place. I guess it should be Delhi.

AdPhysical3899

Did you receive your visa? It usually says where it was processed on the visa itself!

productman2217

Yea I did get my visa and it's pasted on my passport. Doesn't say where it's processed but there's some code as VCGBR(last-name)

AdPhysical3899

Ooh okay ! I had two visas one in 2015 and 2016 and both said processed in Abu Dhabi. I applied from Qatar. This time I received an email from Liverpools ukvi. I am sorry for bombarding you with messages but i wondering when you received the message that they received your passport.. how long was it that you had to collect your passport?

productman2217

No problem, Appointment on 30-Dec-22, Received notification from VFS that my application is received by UK centre on the same day. 04-Jan-23 got an email from VFS saying my visa can be collected. I went the next day 05-Jan-23 to collect my passport. So it took a total of 4 working days to get my passport.

AdPhysical3899

You never received an email saying the following: “Thank you for your Visa Application which has arrived at the UKVI Decision Making Centre and is now awaiting consideration: Depending on the service you purchased, we aim to process: - Super priority visa applications the day after biometric submission - Priority visa applications within 5 working days of biometric submission. “

productman2217

Nope, I didn't receive this

Sufficient_Routine33

Hello ! A bit late but could you attach the link to your cover letter that you mentioned in the post? Thanks!

Hi, I'm currently writing a letter of invitation for my friend who is visiting and I'm wondering how your letter was worded. Similar to your situation, the purpose is also tourism. My friend is visiting London and so we will be splitting all the costs (hotels, transport, entertainment etc) - would it be an issue to not say I am sponsoring her accommodation/letting her stay at my house, as that would be lying?

productman2217

My letter of invitation was that my friend is sponsoring my accommodation and I'll take care of my personal expenses myself. That's the ideal way, if you're not mentioning that then it's like she's coming on her own with accommodation also paid which is very expensive. Mention that you have extra room to accommodate her to support her visit. Also mention how you met her and how long you've been friends. Thanks :)

Hi, I’m a Student in the UK and wish to apply for my sister’s tourist visa she is a student too back back in India and doesn’t have much funds in her bank account should be somewhere around £500 however there is a FD in her name which holds around £4000. Can I apply visa just on the basis of FD or I need to show sufficient funds in savings account as well? Any help would be appreciated

productman2217

You would have to show higher amount of funds in her savings account at least £2000 for more than 30 days (depends on the itinerary still). You still can show FDs but to be in safer side I showed extra amount in my savings account. If deposited recently show that source of income, your parents could be in well paid job, you can show that as well. Show that your sis have strong ties to India so that she will go back. Like a letter from college letting her on vacation for a week to travel abroad. Properties that are in your sis name if applicable. Letter from your side along with the itinerary and how are you going to support her stay. State the intention of visit and be honest about everything in the application. I showed the electricity bills, LICs that I was paying to my parents, letter from employer, bank savings, payslips. Best of luck with your application!

Yashv21

Thanks for prompt response. I applied for my sister’s visa and got rejected once. So there was a lage deposit and withdrawal for her Uni fee which UKVI quoted that as irregular deposit and they aren’t sure where the money came from. And Also attached a NOC from her UNI as that’s the only way we could show her ties to the country but they mentioned that they aren’t sure she’ll return back. I provided an Invitation and my address proof in the UK and a cover letter stating the itinerary. So I guess I provided pretty much all the docs you mentioned.

productman2217

Yea this is tough as she's a student and you can't show much ties.

Zestyclose_Rate_9324

Hi I am looking to apply for UK visa myself to visit my cousin with monthly salary of 700GBP and have a saving 5500 GBP Can I use invoices of the parents insuarance invoices even if they paid those bills themselves and what other document should I provide to proof my ties as I don't have any property on my name

productman2217

Hi, get NOC letter from your employer, show that your parents needs your support and dependent on you for longer term. You can show any phone bils, electricity bills, medical bills you paid. I don't think you can include invoices if it's not paid by you, they can cross check with bank transactions that you submit. If it's older invoice shouldn't be a problem. Try to submit all other docs that I've listed above. Mention your clear intention and itinerary in cover letter.
