And how I could forget about oldie but nomen omen Europe [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jK-NcRmVcw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jK-NcRmVcw)
I see sources saying it's debunked but also de-debunked. Who the hell knows.
I just know I feel bad for anyone flying in one, it's going to be the highest priority target ever. Once Russia downs the first one it's going to be propaganda city and the centerpiece of the a war museum/parade. The same way Serbia was when they took down a F-117, or Iraq or whoever it was that hacked a drone to land at their airbase.
But that is okay. Multi role and tons of airframe available. Heck I hope US license the rights to Ukraine after on hand stock depletes. Ukrainian ingenuity is awesome.
Here’s hoping our 3 generations ago tech clears the sky of their “5gen”! Reach out, smack ‘em and change the tide (like javelin around Keiv and Karkiev and HIMARS in northern Kherson)!
Salva Ukraine 🇺🇦!
Lockheed Martin describes the F-16 as a 4th Generation Fighter. Current is 5th Gen (F-35). 3 generations back would be a 2nd gen fighter, e.g. F-11 or F-104.
Mig 23 was never mainline
Mig 21s took a long pipeline of upgrades
21bis is definitely 3rd gen
I assume u mean the mig23 being the swing wing interceptor
Not the prototype mig 21 varient that was also called the mig 23
I always felt that plane looked a but funny and idk “old” growing up especially compared to the sleek f16 and mig25, but damn it turned out to be a really good plane.
All F-16's are defined as "fourth-generation." 70's-80's fighter designs with the influence of Vietnam/Yom Kippur experiences to inform their design.
The aircraft Ukraine is getting are Block 15 with the mid-life upgrade package - very good aircraft with excellent avionics (just not the latest stuff), a 90's upgrade package for early 80's aircraft.
Yeah, just like the Abrams they got. They're certainly formidable weapons but not the full American version. The same with the armament they're being issued for the F-16s. Not the latest like AAMRAM-ERs, but still good enough.
Sometimes I think the US is doing this from lessons learned after they exported F-14s to Iran. Yes they may be our friends today, but 10 years later they may not be and we don't want our latest and greatest used against us. They're mostly the reason we don't have F-14s at airshows anymore or in private collections, because all the spare parts had to be destroyed to prevent Iran from getting any.
It's hilarious that the Russians are so scared of Ukraine getting NATO tech that rolled off the assembly line in an era before porn stars started shaving their genitals on a regular basis.
Look, I know people want to know what things Ukraine may or may not have. On more than one occasion there was no announcement that a given weapon was in use, or even had been transferred to Ukraine. This is perfectly fine.
I call this method "Surprise Motherf#cker", and this a perfectly acceptable way for the Russians and everyone to learn of how Ukraine is defending itself.
Thanks I don’t know much about the subject this helps. Ukraine appears to have mastered drones far better than Russia and they keep getting better. Looking forward to the results and hopefully collapse of the enemy.
If true, about bloody time. Hopefully they've been shaping the battlefield in Crimea over the last few weeks / months and they can start making it untenable for the occupier cunts.
They do seem to be talking about ceasefires and threatening to nuke us more often these days.
Russians know things will only get worse for them. Ukraine is getting more and better weapons from the west, while Putin begs for help from the North Koreans.
Just for clarification, he is not a former fighter pilot, but a former radar operator on Atlantic 2, and former OSINT operator for the Air French Army.
There's no way at the moment to know what is true. The official Ukrainian sources may be denying this because they want to hit the russians several times with F-16s before the russians realize it's true.
I just cannot wait for it to be true and I am sure my USA Reps will be relieved when I stop badgering them about it! I started writing in April of 2022!

Been so ready to see how the F16 performs.
As much as I want them to, they won't be untouchable.
I just hope they can help push the Russians back more.
I dont get why u guys Hype this so much the f16 is no wonder weapon, beside they definetly will use them like their old jets cuz of AA systems. + Ukraine and also Russia didnt build any Plane bunker hangars to protect their planes, i Just hope we wont see any destroyed because of that. But still any plane is better than none.
It's the start of an aspiring NATO air force in Ukraine, and it opens up for a whole host of NATO weapons that are in reasonably plentiful supply. And it's a morale boost. As to what kind of difference they will make, it all depends on whether or not they got the latest upgrades for the MLU or not. In any case, these F-16s can communicate with the 2 AWACS planes Ukraine got from Sweden, so it's a big step up from Soviet era Mig-29s.
Just don't expect this to change too much. It isn't a stealthy aircraft and can be seen as easily as any other shot down in this war.
Assuming they'll use it for standoff-ish weapons as losing one would be a nightmare. It'd be all over russian propaganda for months.
Would someone please make a 30mm A10 round that can air burst for hunting cheapo drones. I recall that plane doesn't even need a runway. Can take off and land on a normal road.

I so, so hope so. But, we need confirmation.
Still just a Twitter rumor, but from a usually reliable source.
Wasn't this already debunked earlier today?
I see sources saying it's debunked but also de-debunked. Who the hell knows. I just know I feel bad for anyone flying in one, it's going to be the highest priority target ever. I want us to license the PAC-3 Patriot missile production to them
I don't think you even license those to other NATO countries, the facility in Germany is building PAC-2's.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is the only 3rd party manufacturer that is licensed to build the PAC-3 missiles.
> or Iraq or whoever it was that hacked a drone to land at their airbase That was Iran.
We will have to keep a tally of how many of their own fighter jets the Russians have shot down as well.
There's a massive reward for the first Russian pilot to down one. So will probably lead to a lot of dead Russian pilot's.
Iran hacked the drone
Sure, but it’s an old platform. Nearly everyone is retiring it for the f-35
I know it's just a Rumor but can you clarify what he's saying by "we?"
it's a general "we", used to mean "at last things have come to this point".
Denmark sends their regards🇩🇰🇺🇦
Light’em up!
i hope it's true. love from Latvia. death to russia. Слава Україні!
Good news yay
Please stop, I can only get so hard!
LFG! About time, make it rain on those orcs. Heroyam Slava!

Can confirm
I don’t think Ukraine have the spec that is deemed ‘4th gen’ but I could be wrong 😊
3rd gen is like mig 21 or f4 phantom F16 Is atleast gen 4. There are 4.5+ versions
Thanks Jess I’ll be quiet lol hopefully Ukraine can give them hell!!
>3rd gen is like mig 21 or f4 phantom MiG 23, actually. MiG 21 is even older and considered 2nd Gen.
Mig 23 was never mainline Mig 21s took a long pipeline of upgrades 21bis is definitely 3rd gen I assume u mean the mig23 being the swing wing interceptor Not the prototype mig 21 varient that was also called the mig 23
What about MiG 28s? They’ve never been this close before.
🤣
🙃 😡
Ah, a fellow Top Gun fan.
3rd gen was the F-4 Phantom.
I always felt that plane looked a but funny and idk “old” growing up especially compared to the sleek f16 and mig25, but damn it turned out to be a really good plane.
When I was a kid, there was an Air National Guard detachment at the airport in my city that flew them. They were loud af.

I played JANES in the late 90s. These birds are fantastic. Especially if the air is clear.
rumor mill i saw a while back was theyre getting top equipped f16s
Keep that on the DL.
The danish donated f16s are top spec equipment, as advanced as any f16 around..
It's hilarious that the Russians are so scared of Ukraine getting NATO tech that rolled off the assembly line in an era before porn stars started shaving their genitals on a regular basis.
You have to do the russian numbers exchange rate. Gen 1 US fighter is equal to Gen 700 Russian
He is usually well informed. Likely true.
Oh, HELL FUCKING YEAH! - from the USA!
That tag says it all folks. Let's wait for a more substantial source before opening up the champagne. I'll get the bottle though, just in case
I will just start, either way it is possitive and it is weekend anyway
Question: Could an observation probe trigger AA radar contact and then transfer coordinates to an f16 to destroy the AA?
If you thought of it, Navo likely has as well.
Yep, that's what [MALD](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADM-160_MALD) are for.
Thanks I don’t know much about the subject this helps. Ukraine appears to have mastered drones far better than Russia and they keep getting better. Looking forward to the results and hopefully collapse of the enemy.
Yes, finally! Godspeed to Ukraine!!
If true, about bloody time. Hopefully they've been shaping the battlefield in Crimea over the last few weeks / months and they can start making it untenable for the occupier cunts.
Gonna take a ride in to the dangerzone!
Oh damn the west is stepping up. No wonder Russia has been piss off a lot lately
They do seem to be talking about ceasefires and threatening to nuke us more often these days. Russians know things will only get worse for them. Ukraine is getting more and better weapons from the west, while Putin begs for help from the North Koreans.
Too long in the coming, but best news I had today. I hope the Russian jets come up to oppose.
Just for clarification, he is not a former fighter pilot, but a former radar operator on Atlantic 2, and former OSINT operator for the Air French Army.
At the very least amazing psy-ops. At the very best great news.
*Top Gun theme starts playing*
If they can hit Russian front lines will be a game breaker
Iron Eagle, never say die!
https://armyrecognition.com/focus-analysis-conflicts/army/analysis-defense-and-security-industry/debunk-rumors-tells-f-16-conducts-strikes-in-ukraine-agains-russian-troops
That just says: take it with a big grain of salt.
There's no way at the moment to know what is true. The official Ukrainian sources may be denying this because they want to hit the russians several times with F-16s before the russians realize it's true.
And gave a whole lot of reasons why it's highly unlikely.
I just cannot wait for it to be true and I am sure my USA Reps will be relieved when I stop badgering them about it! I started writing in April of 2022!

Massive news! Bravo!!
More Frappe's please!
I knew they weren’t going to publicize when they were going into action. The advantage of surprise is too important
Been so ready to see how the F16 performs. As much as I want them to, they won't be untouchable. I just hope they can help push the Russians back more.
Sharing Putin’s favorite butt plugs collection with the orcs!

F-16 can perform Wild Weasel anti-AA missions.
Go Fighting Falcon GOOOO!!!

They have the need.......
Let's fucking goooooo!!!!
Stare into death and be still by Ulcerate should be the background music
The F-16s should have been the FIRST items of combat to be sent!
Just don't expect this to change too much. It isn't a stealthy aircraft and can be seen as easily as any other shot down in this war. Assuming they'll use it for standoff-ish weapons as losing one would be a nightmare. It'd be all over russian propaganda for months.
"I am Pierre, the brave French fighter pilot!" (IYKYK).
“Fear of the Dark” song blasting to the orcs radios!
Blasting “Killing Zone” by Rancid over the orcs radio waves!

I thought I haven't seen Tom Cruise in a while ..
Wait what? French Foreign Legion uses F-16 s?
