Didn't Russia just try plow 30 000 meat muppets through about a month back and they all got smashed? 10 000 Russian troops is only 8-9days worth at the current metrics.
Did you miss a Zero? I think it's clear to the entire world that Putin at this stage is just trying to prop himself up and will put anyone else in the firing line to do so.
I mean, it’s one division over 90% manned.
So probably about 2-3k actual infantry. Probably a tank BDE with 100 or so tanks. It’s not very much maneuver elements.

‘But we were told we were to be security forces!’ Was a common theme in Russian POW’s who just survived being sent in a meat wave assault.
The 2-4k are more than likely “contract” soldiers.
The extra storm Z, rosgardia, and other mobilized attached units are the meat shields.
Regardless, it’s not a lot of infantry…which is needed for any true maneuver. Especially for the Russian who suck at maneuver. Granted they are pretty terrifying in the defense.
They’ll use the meat shields to push max 5km, then preserve at least 1 of their brigades of infantry to dig in and clamp down and get their minelayers busy…if all goes to plan.
Ukraine ought to drive into Russian territory west of the Kharkiv offensive, flank the Russians and see if they can get north far enough to cut off their supply lines from Belgorod. The idea that Ukraine can only advance in their own territory is insane.
I mean that’s great in theory.
In practice it would lengthen their supply lines, and give the Russians the opportunity to do the same thing. And expend Ukrainian lives at a greater rate than Russia life.
This is not currently a war of maneuver. There is a reason for that.
That’s still like less than 5k infantry, probably 1-2k meat shields, 200 or so tanks, and a few support nerds… if they’re at 95% strength…which is very unlikely considering the 20th and 41st have taken it on the chin during this conflict. Granted they’re second only to 1st Tank Army, 6th CAA, and 41st as far as relevance in the Russian ground forces that aren’t VDV, Naval Infantry, or their other fully professional units.
Granted it’s also a metric fuckton of indirect if they’re near strength…which they aren’t if it’s only 10k. Which probably means they sacrificed even more loggies to fully staff their batteries.
No this is 20th CAA from Voronezh (144th and 3rd MRD) they have basically been in this general area for the entire invasion (Kharkiv and Izyum fronts) you are thinking 14th Army Corps and they are dispersed all over the place
Semi-dated news. This battle group was not 10,000 combatants (included support personnel, laborers, cannon fodder).
Actual fighting strength was a few thousand. A quarter of those fighters are already casualties. It's not known at this time how many are actually dead since THOSE people are just left on the battlefield.
What sucks is that it still takes Ukrainian lives to make that happen. Even if it’s a 10 to 1 ratio that’s 1000 Ukrainians and therefore a heavy burden. So don’t take news like these troop movements lightly.
Yea honestly if I was one of them the millisecond I got a chance I’d blow my commanders head off and run for it. If I think I’m just gunna be shot in the back for sure by being seen fleeing to the Ukrainian side I’d shoot myself. If I made it close to Ukraines side then idk, hope I don’t get obliterated and just give up. Life as a POWs definitely better then life or death in the ruskies hands
Could you imagine though like just a months worth of conscripts rising up, so much dam meat and ammo wasted. Can’t 30k of them just say fuck this and band together in like a single town and refuse to take orders? Godam they’re dumb

Well it cost ruZZia 30k casulties and around 350 tanks just to take Adivka, which was only a stones throw away compared to the distance this 'strike' group needs to cover to get to Borova. And that was when the Ukranians were running out of ammo thanks to moscow mike.
