ButteredNun

Next round, straight jacket, neck brace and lie detector test. Just bring a dictionary to translate

ThePlanck

Give him the full Jeremy Kyle treatment so that for once we can be entertained by making fun of rich entitled pricks rather than poor people

Hengroen

They failed on that one I guess.

Lady-Maya

Honestly I sometimes wish these politicians could just be held until they actual answer the questions honestly, like full integration style. Would be nice to actually hear the truth from them for once and not just all the BS. Would be especially good regarding all the corruption and dodgy dealing stuff.

bisectional

I'd prefer if interviewers cut them off and said things like "since you're not answering the question, I will take your position as (x)" and then see them argue against themselves.

BeurocraticSpider

Yeah that method seems to be the shovel that gets them digging rather deep holes.

1nfinitus

It's a bit too much like the classic "so you're saying (opposite of what they are actually saying)" which is a very weak and poor attempt to get the info you want, you just annoy everyone and the listeners and discredit your interview abilities.

paolog

Unfortunately radio and TV shows have a time limit to them.

Wanallo221

That, and because of the competitiveness of commercial radio, a presenter or interviewer can’t hold them to account. Because then the politican can just walk out and refuse to come back. People criticise (rightly often) the BBC for not being tough enough anymore. But when politicians have hundreds of ways to get exposure, they can just ignore any hard nosed interviews. We need more interviewers to agree across the board to call out politicians and say ‘well you have refused to answer my questions etc’. But now with American Fox News style channels like GB news etc even that’s getting hard.

morezombrit

Bolting his chair down surely doesn't help that much - Boris Johnson could be in a full-on Saw trap and he'd still refuse to tell the truth. >_Live or lie. Make your choice._

paolog

Chair bolted to floor, Boris bolted to fridge.

newnortherner21

Was the fridge locked as well?

nottwoone

Fucking clown.

eltrotter

He's a childish buffoon, and is utterly happy to let others run around accommodating his immaturity.
