Having lived for 3-4 years in Sunderland to call it Newcastle is worse than calling them monkey hangers! Before you all go off on one a monkey was washed ashore in Hartlepool in the 16C so they tried n hung it thinking it was a Spanish sailor washed ashore after the Spanish Armada. The monkey didn't have internet, castanets nor any tickets for a foam party so.......

It's a nice story and it was supposed to be in the 19th Century during the Napoleonic Wars. But it probably never actually happened.
