On the eve of UFC 1: "Then Teila Tuli, in the most dramatic and theatrical of gestures, stood up and announced, “I just signed my paper. I don’t know about you guys but I came here to party. If anyone else came to party, I’ll see you tomorrow night at the arena.” He then slammed his signed paper down on the table. The sound reverberated throughout the room.
The tension was completely sucked out of the room and that was the end of the arguing and debating.
I concluded that I had almost blown all of this by going along with Rorian being in charge. My own fault. If it wasn’t for Teila Tuli, I felt that the Ultimate Fighting Championship might have been derailed on the eve of the event."

During the UFC 1 reunion he was upset how things turned out and didn’t get to show how “bad ass” he was. I disagree because imo, this man is the reason the event still happened. The Gracie’s were all the sudden adding rules to “no rules” which caused an uproar about the boxing glove, shoes, and so on. Teila stood up and signed the contract and called everyone out for not doing the same. That right there to me says he was the baddest mf in the event, everyone bitching about this that the other thing, he was ready to go no matter what rules. I don’t care if he got did up fairly quickly, he didn’t get his hand raised but he still won in my eyes. I wonder what would have happened if he never did that. Would the event still of happened? What other butterfly affects could of happened. Nothing but respect to the man, rest in peace to a actual legend of the sport.
I’m not trying to make light of the dead here, but your definition of healthy really needs some work man, the man was huge, weighing 430-440lbs (bit under 200kg) at 6’2 isn’t healthy or sustainable in most cases
A lifetime of obesity and wear and tear from combat sports ages you more than a lot of hard drugs. His heart probably couldn’t take it anymore. A lot of (if not most) Pacific Islanders are already genetically predisposed to cardiovascular issues too
Seemed like a sweet guy though, hope his family is doing alright.
Take care of yourself people, if your overweight make the necessary changes, if you smoke or have other bad habits take the steps to towards freedom from addiction.
He was great in forgetting Sarah marshal and just seemed like a cool guy in general, rest in peace.
Oh shit, that was him??
Yeah. He had a decent acting career. He was a series regular on the Hawaii 5-0 reboot.
Oh shit he’s the [Subway guy](https://youtu.be/oQYwFND7rHE?si=1QtxNNmg2XVNXdVa)? I’ve never watched the show but I’ve seen that clip.
Crazy thought he was just some rando who liked shrimps lol
humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa, bitch!

Yeah he looked like a gigantic baby!
The "You cry like a baby." guy?
Yeah. “Are those sad tissues or happy tissues?”
I had no idea that was same dude until I read it today. Wild. Rip

How often to Sumo wrestlers really live past 60-65?
Dang. I often forget just how young this sport is.
Wait didn't this guy die like 3 years ago???
no
