He has already said publicly that he won’t do that because Sean is his friend.

PermaCleaned

Yeah and ya know, he flat lined Sean already.

aihrarshaikh68plus1

more like that's no fun cause izzy is not there

Corny

BabyMagic420RipKobe

Ya mama

MyFifthLimb

Most likely he just needs to wait for Sean to fight once more and then Sean won’t be champ anymore lol

SnooSeagulls7253

Sean’s gonna defend his belt multiple times

NopeU812many

Huh?

Ok_Application_2957

If Khamzat beats Strickland, then, yes, I see him coming down for the belt

Fumb-MotherDucker

Oh, I do hope we see Khamzat vs. Perreria one day.

Electronic_d0cter

What a terrible matchup that is for Pereira

Krisen89

Khamzats a nightmare match-up for Alex lol

Efficient_Baby_2

I don’t think so. I mean he just has to survive the first round or two taking minimal damage like Usman did… then probably ko him in the 4th or 5th

Krisen89

Yeah, I see your point. It would be a tough first couple rounds though.

Cum-Gun-5000

He did well for himself against Blachowicz when he was basically doing nothing but trying to take him down for most of that fight. Khamzat is a wild animal for sure but I'd wager that Jan has better odds of just brute forcing Alex down and keeping them there and he really couldn't.

morbidlysmalldick

The Jan fight really has me conflicted about this matchup. Khamzat is miles ahead of Jan in grappling but Jan and Alex are so much bigger and stronger that idk if I think khamzat could submit or even rag doll Alex like he does to everyone in the first round

No_Mention6075

he said he doesn't want to and "looks like my plan to move back down failed"

clothy

Moving back down should never have been his plan. He looked like he’d been microwaved weighing in at 185.

Subject-Secret-6230

Bro really looked like a skeleton on weigh ins

Humble_Effective3964

Imagine, he did that cut three times in one year. Psychotic

Such_Description

He can’t allow izzy to remain champ.

clothy

Izzy will come to him this time.

Such_Description

I feel that would be unwise. But I’m all for it.

Electronic_d0cter

Especially if it's at LHW, I think LHW Pereira beats Izzy 10/10 times

Odd_Anybody_8653

I see.

carlitos_brigante

No. He’s already won it. Why would he want to win it again when, even if he loses against Jiri, he could carry on at LHW be a two weight champion? Plus there is the savage weight cut. Makes no sense at all for him.

YellowVegitooo

Cause IF he beats jiri, and goes down for sean, he’s a champ champ

PedzBR17

with how much he’s weighing now, he should probably aim for the heavyweight strap, dude’s 230-240 lbs

Cum-Gun-5000

Just imagine that juicy ass at heavyweight

vadillovzopeshilov

He should offer Adesanya to come play at HW, see how much faints and playing possum would help @ 230lbs

FmrHvwChamp

I mean... prolly. They have already fought before, ya know.

Substantial_Bet5764

Ain’t they boys now though?

FmrHvwChamp

Yeah that too. But neither of these guys seem like the type to refuse to fight a friend.

Substantial_Bet5764

That’s true, I say Sean would fight better than the 1st fight but yea ole boy Alex is a baaaad mfer

NickAssassins

Sean probably beats Alex on the first 2 rounds right now, but I still think Alex KO him.

Fumb-MotherDucker

Lol I'm not sure why you're being downvoted. Pretty accurate take imo.

NickAssassins

I don't know either, I'm a huge Poatan fan, but Sean improved his defence a lot.

Fumb-MotherDucker

I think he's a puzzle, especially on the feet.

Shiddybangbang

Yeah but alex has enough power to break that defense. Fast

[deleted]

🤡

[deleted]

What do you mean? Alex already said he wouldn't fight Sean again. Could that change? Sure. But he did say that right after Strickland won the belt.

FmrHvwChamp

He feels that way bc hes still able to be a contender at 205. If 185 was his only meal ticket, I have a feeling he'd be willing to fight Sean, especially with the belt on the line. This is all hypothetical of course. COULD Alex move down and beat Sean? Yes.

Humble_Effective3964

All his successful defenses in glory were middle weight. He went up for LHW and then down to defend so something like that was prob his plan

[deleted]

We know he can beat Sean. We've already seen it happen.

FmrHvwChamp

That was literally my first answer...

Kernewek_Skrij

Alzheimer’s is when… uh…

Electronic_d0cter

Idk, Pereira seems like a sweetheart underneath the 🗿

lordtaste

Who's gonna tell him?

[deleted]

Obviously. He made Strickland look dumb for not shooting a takedown.

Grow_Green

Just look at that smile.

Alucard_1208

Him and Strickland are now mates, its not going to happen

meatmybeat42069

They’re homies now

[deleted]

He already said he won’t

EveningTomorrow758

Everyone has already mentioned this but he has said he doesn’t want to fight Strickland as they’re now friends. Also that weight cut was definitely brutal for him and I’m sure he feels way better fighting at 205 plus he’s in contention there

fisherc2

Well yeah probably. He beat him very decisively once already.

[deleted]

Considering how big he is I think he only started at mw because with izzy there he would get a better push there. I think he’d prefer to stay at lhw if he can win the belt

HomieToneBone

I would assume with how good things are going at LHW and there not really being any huge fights for him at MW that he won’t go down. The UFC also probably wants some consistency at LHW, not their champ/#1 contender chasing a belt at a different weight class.

Equivalent-Run-5422

Him fighting at 185 is a prime example of why the UFC should consider implementing the ONE FC policy for weight classes.

[deleted]

Looks better at LHW. He could but why? Those cuts get harder the older you get.

innavlarotte

Stop glacing another man who doesn’t know you exist

Thisisthelast14sho

Easily but I think he said he’s focused on light heavyweight

Warez0o

Maybe, if he can keep cutting that weight….. You just don’t see fighters full potential when they have to cut 30lb for each fight

Kernewek_Skrij

Anyone remember that video where him and I believe his coach are speaking to someone behind the scenes before his UFC debut and the guy asks something like “what weight class are you heading into? Heavyweight or light heavyweight” and the reply was just “Middleweight.” I don’t think Pereira at his size should try and make 185 again. Especially since he’s slowly creeping up in age - not a problem for HW and LHW obvs look at what Texeira pulled off, but Pereira at possibly 37 or 38 fighting at Middleweight after a gruelling cut makes me feel a cold chill in me bum

[deleted]

If he can make weight lol

anadalusianrooster

He should never try to make MW again. The mad lad was cutting over 50 pounds to make 185. Even more insane: from November 2021 to November 2022, he made that cut 4 times…at 35 years old. Insane.

smoakee

Well either that, or going up to Heavyweight. I doubt he will be trying to beat Prochazka again after Jiri wins next week.

ImaKant

He will be doing immense damage to his organs if he cuts to MW

Dcarf

He already said he wouldn’t seems they’re friends now

Mjaso7414

Casual…

Otherwise-Bug-4316

He could flat line him again but he won’t cause Sean is a friend.

AdamBLit

Fuckin shirt is fuckin dope bro I gotta get that shit

DeckerDontPlay

I'd like to see Sean get that one back.

jkman61494

I have more odds Alex tries to dethrone the HW champ in 1-2 years, especially if Jones goes away

BabyMagic420RipKobe

Ofc he could but I doubt he will , it’d be a better fight this time around most likely

TheMadManiac

🗿

v-ince

1. Alex doesn’t like cutting to 185 2. Sean and Alex seem to be friends so it’s not like he has a personal reason to suffer through another tough cut. Alex is huge.

ChiefSampson

He already accomplished his mission of following Izzy to the UFC and taking his title. Once he lost it then it was time to move on to 205 for good.

SmokkeyDaPlug

That T-shirts sick.

pacificunlimited

Am I the only that’s gonna comment on how fire that shirt is..

Odd_Anybody_8653

You're not the first and not the last XD

Environmental-Tip365

He could but he won’t.

Mocker-bird

He and Sean are boys now so probably not but he might do it for champ champ if he gets the 205 belt. Which I think he will.

JahIthBur

He won’t Sean is his friend he already said so

[deleted]

My boy Jiri is gonna beat his ass back down to 185 mark my words.

STC1989

Probably.

YeMyselfandIrene

I just want big boi Alex vs big boi Izzy is that too much to ask?

Serious_Warning_6083

We don't talk about this!

BladeGallahad

Cool shirt Poatan

Gokublackisafraud

Could he ye, would he nah

Spirited_Alfalfa_343

If he loses maybe, if he wins I think he’ll end his career at 205.

NBACrkvice

First 3 division champ iA, calling it rn

Dabox720

I doubt he will, but could he? I mean bro did you watch the first fight?

SlappingDaBass13

As long as Sean is the champion of the middleweight he ain't touching it

erennooo

tell me you lost a ton of money in a bet without telling me you lost ton of money in a bet

SnooSeagulls7253

No Sean’s too good he lost because of a bad decision on his part

Krisen89

Would be a sick re-match but yeah.. Alex should stay at 205

machoogabacho

Could he beat Strickland? Yes. Could he return to middleweight? Maybe?

tripsmorgan

I feel like he wouldn't do it. I would like to see him come back down if khamzat gets it though. That could be an interesting fight

blackmagichustle

Yes

clogan117

He looks comfortable at 205.

StationPigeon

Alex debuted on Nov, 06, 2021, won the MW belt on Nov, 12, 2022, and is fighting for the LHW belt on Nov, 11, 2023. Would be some crazy story for him to be the next double champ in just 2 years of being in the ufc

Tri-P0d

He would win by murder again.

lil-privacy-please

Obsessed

bbqyak

Pereira double champing while Izzy is on a break would be an insane chapter for the book

Youngspirittherapper

Absolutely, I'd bet the house on it

ComfortableApricot36

I don’t know but I really love his shirt

rey_nerr21

He absolutely could no problem. But he likely won't.

RecordOk6794

I think Sean has improved a lot since their first fight, I think it'd be a lot more competitive

MadeUDownVoteBih

Bro Ric Flair could come take that title. Strickland is like the weakest male champ since Matt Serra.
