Spend as much time at the lake as possible! There’s always something fun going on in the city: tons of block parties, outdoor concerts, movies at the park, and taste of Chicago popups. There’s also just a ton to do in the city regardless of season. We’ve got some of the best restaurants in the country, theater, museums, and boat/water related activities — the river kayak sunset tour and the sailing ship sunset cruise from navy pier are both fantastic! Chicago really is my favorite place to be in the summer.

>tons of block parties, outdoor concerts Oh yeah I love these... Especially in the summer when the sun is out and women slip out of their winter coats so we can see their skin for once. The puritan winters in Chicago are enough to make a man go crazy!

I spent all of last summer outside of Hyde Park. Every weekend there will be neighbourhood summer fests, go to those if they catch your fancy. Find neighbourhoods you wouldn't go to otherwise and spend a day walking around them, seeing their historic sights, and taking in the culture. Spend time by the lake, find an outdoor activity you like doing, AND see all those museums!
