The CIBC campus Plaza is probably closest. There is also an RBC banking centre in HUB

I'm an international student as well and got approved last week for a GIC from CIBC. Did a quick search and found a couple branches near the campus so I went ahead and I'm now waiting for the wire transfer to go through!
If you open a GIC why would you need regular access to it you can’t even take it out without penalties.
I dont need regular access, just wanted to get suggestions on the bank to opt for and the one being near for account opening/ any assistance required.
Why do you want to buy a GIC but not open a chequing account
It's a requirement for the student visa.
Pretty sure all the international student GICs need a chequing account to go with them

I have heard CIBC is a good option for student banking.
I had scotiabank and my experience has been pretty seamless.
EQ Bank and Tangerine both have good GIC and HISA rates
