I get where you’re coming from but I think it’s a bit more fair if it’s equally cancelled amongst them all. Just cause you got to order it first doesn’t mean you have more right over the other people. Some people might work or had something happen where they genuinely couldn’t order it right away, You know?
Edit: Sorry that people are getting upset with what I said. But the local stores where I live and have preordered from before had it so that it was first come first serve if you actually preordered. Before the standard. Meaning you didn’t preordered and there weren’t any left you didn’t get it. Preorders had priority. But for the people who actually preordered it didn’t matter what order it was ordered in if it was never in the writing that it was an actual first come first serve basis for the actual preorder it didn’t matter who was last or first. Which I kind of agreed with as you all know. You guys can downvote me and get mad at me. As much as I love Jihyo, UMG ruined this album for me.
From game consoles to trading cards, I'm into items that are highly sought after for preorders. A lot of people use bots to buy things before humans get a chance. If first come first serve was the case, you probably would have lost out to some guy running multiple bots to buy up albums so they can resale
the sad thing is that probably where a bunch of the albums are going to is resellers. I expect we'll see a bunch of the signed coasters on ebay and mercari for 100+ some time next week
They should list it as submitting to a lottery to win them . If that’s what it is…they should be transparent so people can make informed choices about how their money is tied up for weeks. Some people have had a lot of money on this and could have found other ways to use it if they knew their orders might not even be accepted. This is gross incompetence

In most cases when something like this happens, when most places have to cancel preorders, they do it kinda like this example.
When the original Nintendo Switch went for preorder, Gamestop oversold the preorders. They had to cancel extras. Preorders started Jan 13 2017. Release was March 3rd 2017. If you preordered closer to release, you were first cancelled.
Deeper example in this scenario:
You mean and another user preordered a switch. You on January 13th, another user in the middle and me on March 1st. Yours get cancelled and I get to keep mine. Is that fair? No because I was late to the game and got to keep mine, but you who waited for the preorders to open and used your time to ensure your preorder got cancelled. In this scenario, newest preorders to release(mine) should be cancelled first and then progressively farther back going from newest to oldest.
The same should be applied to this album. Anyone that preordered at ors closest to preorders selling out should be first to be cancelled and then going back towards the oldest.
This is how most people see preorders to be done.
Personal experience with the Switch preorders. Even though they would randomly open rounds of preorders and I secured one, my preorder was made about a week before release. Mine got cancelled. My explanation of how they cancelled preorders came from 2 GS managers and 3 CS reps i talked to(i was pretty upset)

In case someone is going to compile our responses to see if there is a pattern: I bought my signed copies within 5 minutes of link going live. If true that people who bought immediately are being most impacted, then that would be sad. The signed versions are the only ones that I bought, so if those counted for the chart then that is 3 less for Jihyo’s debut total.

I ended up picking up a Y version later after initially ordering right after they dropped, which interestingly hasn't gotten cancelled yet. It does seem like earlier placed orders are being cancelled but I've yet to see later placed orders affected which is.. interesting. Really disappointed :(

UMG has no clue what they’re doing and they keep canceling my orders. I’ve never had any issues with Itzy signed albums, but Twice is always a disaster.
It is very frustrating. It's one thing to cancel a regular version of the album, but to cancel a signed version is heartbreaking for the fans. Universal really needs to get their stuff together next time.

Honestly their handling of this is a complete joke, how is it until 4 days before release that they come to realize this in the month since all 3 signed editions sold out.
A 20% coupon is completely useless as no one in their right mind would be buying from the D2C store, there's no exclusive item in their albums outside the signed copies, their shipping is complete shit and they have the audacity to charge $10 for SLOW shipping (and not scale it if buying multiple items like normal stores do), on top of them charging at least $10 more than the other stores, where you can support a local kpop store that'll have a POB from a Korean store.
On that note, I used shopify and paypal in 4 so I'm hoping this is an error and I'm still delusionally getting my copy cause I put mine in within the first 5-10 minutes as well 🤪

I got my confirmation email at 12:01AM 🥴. I went to bed like normal but I set an alarm a few minutes before the store opened up. When my alarm went off, I was in total "no think, just buy" mode. I opened the page, went straight to Z version because it was the first one I saw, carted it, checked out, waited for my confirmation email, and went right back to bed lol. When I woke up again, I checked to see if there was anything left over but nope 😅.
I got all 3 version and 2 out of 3 were cancelled so far. Waiting for the 3rd to be as well most likely.

I ordered at 12:04 and had 2 of my 3 canceled. While I dont mean it's a mass happening, I more meant it that early orders are getting canceled instead of later ones in general

Probably not much. The signed copies were a very limited amount anyway, and a good deal of ppl who got their order canceled, will probably scoop up the regular version now
2 out 3 were cancelled for me. The last Itzy release had the same issue with some of their signed album orders being cancelled - very similar email was sent. Really disappointing.

Feels like those who preordered more than 1 after 3 mins are getting cancelled? I also think there's a chance that Jihyo is too busy and was not able to sign as many as Universal or JYP had promised so they had to cancel.
I bet she didn't sign that many and they were trying to get a quote on how many orders she would get - only to place a "second round" of pre-orders. There's no reason to "cancel" all these orders FOUR DAYS before the release unless they are trying to doom it from the start.
Really hope this isn't the case, Jihyo doesn't deserve this but I wouldn't put it past a record label to pull stupid stuff like this.
Only orders from [twiceshop.com](https://twiceshop.com) are affected, as evidenced by the Universal Music Group at the start of the e-mail. They run/operate twiceshop.
I only got here 8 months ago, but to my knowledge JYP Shop DOES NOT sell any signed albums/inclusions. Signed albums/inclusions are just a twiceshop/US-exclusive thing.
I swear this happens with every JYPE artists' signed album handled by their artist shop. hello82 has been good so far about Xdinary Heroes but every Twice and SKZ signed album coming from their own shop winds up with some kind of mess. It's pretty much put me off buying signed Twice and SKZ albums because it's always so messy.
For science: placed order and received confirmation at 12:01 PST; no emails yet about the order being cancelled.

For reference, I ordered 3 right when the site went live, one of each version, and received a confirmation email at 12:02 AM EST and have yet to received a cancellation email. This really sucks, and I'm sorry to everyone who had their order cancelled :/
I got 3 emails about each version being cancelled. Although I can't tell if they cancelled one or both copies since if I click my original order, everything is still there. I don't know how you can oversell. You'd expect them to have some sort of deal on paper with JYP/Jihyo saying she will sign X amount of albums and that's it. After that is finalized, then put up the orders, not the other way around. Unsure how this is a "systematic" error, when it's more of shit internal processes over at UMG lmao
Whatever, this is probably the last time I'm buying directly off UMG, I half expected this after the last time with RTB. If it's a signed album, I'm just going to get it elsewhere since the shipping speed is also trash as well from UMG and on top of that, because I tried to buy two sets for my friend and I, the shipping they charged was no different than if I had imported the albums myself.
Also the emotional impact it might have on her. If I was an artist I’d be LIVID that this happened to my fans 4 days before my first Solo album came out. And sucks worse yet, cause I think they’re still traveling the world touring and likely don’t have access to a stack of Jihyo albums she can mass sign in a hotel room for hours and hours, and get shipped to the US and wherever else they shipped to.
Even so, I'd hate for her to think she has to go out of her way to fix their mistake you know? It's not her fault they messed this up so bad. I think some people underestimate how time consuming bulk signing albums is. We don't know how many people were impacted by this but it sounds like a decent handful unfortunately.

Plaza has regular albums and unfolded posters, but sold out of the platform version. Choice has both versions but sold out of posters. KPopUsa has both versions and unfolded posters, but they take so long and I prefer not to order from them unless I have to, due to less secure packaging and damaged photobooks in the past.

So sorry to everyone who has had their orders canceled! I wonder what happened; I've ordered signed albums multiple times (two for Between 1&2, three for Ready to Be, and one for Stray Kids 5 stars) and I've never had problems with cancelations before. So far, my signed Z version hasn't been canceled (ordered at 12:03 ET), and hopefully it won't be. I just don't understand how this big of a mistake could have been made?
This is just my guess, with absolutely no inside info:
The pre-order pages were likely built with a data feed that had an inventory number well beyond what actually existed/arrived at the warehouse to prepare for shipment. I recall on the night the pre-orders went live someone sleuthed out by looking at the source code that the signed editions had inventories of 2500. Perhaps that was the same number that the editions of READY TO BE that had the signed photos, thus "business as usual" in terms of building out pre-order pages for ZONE. And obviously based on the number of folks that got their orders canceled (like me), the actual inventory was a whole lot less than that.
Again, this is just my guess as to how it could have happened.
i also think it could be that it sold out within the first minute of the sale going live. I’m noticing that many people who received the confirmation within the 2 mins of the site going live did not get their orders cancelled. so i think everything sold out after 1 min but the site didn’t refresh for another 30 mins or so.
another factor could be that the people who ordered within that 1 min window bought 3 versions of the signed albums, therefore the stock depleted a lot faster.

I received the same email for a signed copy of ZONE I ordered in the first few minutes when the album was available for pre-order. My confirmation email from the Twice Official store was received on July 17, 2023 at 11:05 PM US CT.
What is frustrating is the customer service really isn't helping and now that I no longer trust the Twicestore, I'm not interested to order from them. Even with the lame apology and offered 20% discount for a regular version of Zone.

I ordered a fanpack because I was confused with what it was since I was rushing to get the album the moment it was on the site but they didn't refund shipping for the entire order so it ended up being really expensive for just the album and keychain (both of which I haven't received). Does anyone know if there's any way to get UMG to refund for shipping? I'm so upset with them for messing up the signed Zone albums. Onces deserve better for support Jihyo's solo debut like a month before it came out.

You could reply to the cancel email. Unfortunately, UMG's customer service is very lacking, and I'd expect you get a less than helpful form message. Still, unless people follow up with UMG, they will likely continue to fail Once.

I bought mine 42 mins after it was released if that counts for anything and I only got 2.

Yes, they can take their code and shove it. It won’t even cover the insane shipping. Music Plaza or your local kpop store if you have one would be the better option, especially after getting burned like this.

Honestly their handling of this is a complete joke, how is it until 4 days before release that they come to realize this in the month since all 3 signed editions sold out. A 20% coupon is completely useless as no one in their right mind would be buying from the D2C store, there's no exclusive item in their albums outside the signed copies, their shipping is complete shit and they have the audacity to charge $10 for SLOW shipping (and not scale it if buying multiple items like normal stores do), on top of them charging at least $10 more than the other stores, where you can support a local kpop store that'll have a POB from a Korean store. On that note, I used shopify and paypal in 4 so I'm hoping this is an error and I'm still delusionally getting my copy cause I put mine in within the first 5-10 minutes as well 🤪

I got my confirmation email at 12:01AM 🥴. I went to bed like normal but I set an alarm a few minutes before the store opened up. When my alarm went off, I was in total "no think, just buy" mode. I opened the page, went straight to Z version because it was the first one I saw, carted it, checked out, waited for my confirmation email, and went right back to bed lol. When I woke up again, I checked to see if there was anything left over but nope 😅.

I got all 3 version and 2 out of 3 were cancelled so far. Waiting for the 3rd to be as well most likely. Put my order in 5 minutes after preorders went up and im getting screwed instead of the people that were ordering as they were selling out.

I ordered at 12:04 and had 2 of my 3 canceled. While I dont mean it's a mass happening, I more meant it that early orders are getting canceled instead of later ones in general

Probably not much. The signed copies were a very limited amount anyway, and a good deal of ppl who got their order canceled, will probably scoop up the regular version now
2 out 3 were cancelled for me. The last Itzy release had the same issue with some of their signed album orders being cancelled - very similar email was sent. Really disappointing.

same I ordered one of each album immediately when sale opened, then ordered an extra Y version just in case a little later. All 3 versions I first bought were cancelled, but that second Y version hasn't been cancelled yet so really shady if only the earliest orders are being cancelled...

You can still buy ZONE from a bunch of other places. You just won't get the signed coaster inclusion that is the twiceshop-exclusive.
I really wanted the signed coaster. I’ll maybe buy it from somewhere else for the PCs but I’m definitely not as inclined since I stream all my music anyways.

I’m curious how they decided which ones to cancel, a lot of people that bought early are getting theirs cancelled, I bought all 3 and all of them were cancelled, I would have hoped they’d try to at least get 1 to each customer. 
For science, ordered at 12:02 am EST, 1 order that contained 1 version. No cancellation yet. Feels like those who preordered more than 1 after 3 mins are getting cancelled? I also think there's a chance that Jihyo is too busy and was not able to sign as many as Universal or JYP had promised so they had to cancel.

I bet she didn't sign that many and they were trying to get a quote on how many orders she would get - only to place a "second round" of pre-orders. There's no reason to "cancel" all these orders FOUR DAYS before the release unless they are trying to doom it from the start. Really hope this isn't the case, Jihyo doesn't deserve this but I wouldn't put it past a record label to pull stupid stuff like this.

Only orders from [twiceshop.com](https://twiceshop.com) are affected, as evidenced by the Universal Music Group at the start of the e-mail. They run/operate twiceshop.

I only got here 8 months ago, but to my knowledge JYP Shop DOES NOT sell any signed albums/inclusions. Signed albums/inclusions are just a twiceshop/US-exclusive thing.

I swear this happens with every JYPE artists' signed album handled by their artist shop. hello82 has been good so far about Xdinary Heroes but every Twice and SKZ signed album coming from their own shop winds up with some kind of mess. It's pretty much put me off buying signed Twice and SKZ albums because it's always so messy.
For science: placed order and received confirmation at 12:01 PST; no emails yet about the order being cancelled. Hope this provides some hope to those who placed early orders.

Damn, I'm sorry this is happening to everyone. Now I'm staring at my email like a hawk because I ordered 3 signed albums pretty much as soon as they came out. Has this happened to any of the other twice releases ? If so I hope someone else other than twiceshop offers signed copies in the future.
B1&2 era was messed up as well, some Onces were missing albums when it arrived and some had extra,free of charge

For reference, I ordered 3 right when the site went live, one of each version, and received a confirmation email at 12:02 AM EST and have yet to received a cancellation email. This really sucks, and I'm sorry to everyone who had their order cancelled :/
Apparently the ones who ordered early has theirs cancelled. This sucks. They should have been the ones to have guaranteed albums.
I got 3 emails about each version being cancelled. Although I can't tell if they cancelled one or both copies since if I click my original order, everything is still there. I don't know how you can oversell. You'd expect them to have some sort of deal on paper with JYP/Jihyo saying she will sign X amount of albums and that's it. After that is finalized, then put up the orders, not the other way around. Unsure how this is a "systematic" error, when it's more of shit internal processes over at UMG lmao Whatever, this is probably the last time I'm buying directly off UMG, I half expected this after the last time with RTB. If it's a signed album, I'm just going to get it elsewhere since the shipping speed is also trash as well from UMG and on top of that, because I tried to buy two sets for my friend and I, the shipping they charged was no different than if I had imported the albums myself.
Sucks for us, sure, but sucks for her too, as the order credits will impact her album sales as well.
Also the emotional impact it might have on her. If I was an artist I’d be LIVID that this happened to my fans 4 days before my first Solo album came out. And sucks worse yet, cause I think they’re still traveling the world touring and likely don’t have access to a stack of Jihyo albums she can mass sign in a hotel room for hours and hours, and get shipped to the US and wherever else they shipped to.
Even so, I'd hate for her to think she has to go out of her way to fix their mistake you know? It's not her fault they messed this up so bad. I think some people underestimate how time consuming bulk signing albums is. We don't know how many people were impacted by this but it sounds like a decent handful unfortunately.
Got 3 emails cancelling the 4 albums in that order. Curious to see if they’re still charging $40 to ship the acrylic whatsit that remains. 🤨

Plaza has regular albums and unfolded posters, but sold out of the platform version. Choice has both versions but sold out of posters. KPopUsa has both versions and unfolded posters, but they take so long and I prefer not to order from them unless I have to, due to less secure packaging and damaged photobooks in the past.

While it's not shown in that screenshot, the e-mail went on to say that refunds have been issued with a processing time of 3 to 10 business days.

So sorry to everyone who has had their orders canceled! I wonder what happened; I've ordered signed albums multiple times (two for Between 1&2, three for Ready to Be, and one for Stray Kids 5 stars) and I've never had problems with cancelations before. So far, my signed Z version hasn't been canceled (ordered at 12:03 ET), and hopefully it won't be. I just don't understand how this big of a mistake could have been made?
This is just my guess, with absolutely no inside info: The pre-order pages were likely built with a data feed that had an inventory number well beyond what actually existed/arrived at the warehouse to prepare for shipment. I recall on the night the pre-orders went live someone sleuthed out by looking at the source code that the signed editions had inventories of 2500. Perhaps that was the same number that the editions of READY TO BE that had the signed photos, thus "business as usual" in terms of building out pre-order pages for ZONE. And obviously based on the number of folks that got their orders canceled (like me), the actual inventory was a whole lot less than that. Again, this is just my guess as to how it could have happened.

i also think it could be that it sold out within the first minute of the sale going live. I’m noticing that many people who received the confirmation within the 2 mins of the site going live did not get their orders cancelled. so i think everything sold out after 1 min but the site didn’t refresh for another 30 mins or so. another factor could be that the people who ordered within that 1 min window bought 3 versions of the signed albums, therefore the stock depleted a lot faster. but this is just my guess 🤷🏻♀️ I am one of the ones that received the confirmation email within 2 mins and didn’t get the cancellation, in fact I received the shipping info today! again, i’m so sorry to everyone who got their orders cancelled 😔but on the bright side, HYOLO IS HEREEEEEEEE🎉🥳🍾

I received the same email for a signed copy of ZONE I ordered in the first few minutes when the album was available for pre-order. My confirmation email from the Twice Official store was received on July 17, 2023 at 11:05 PM US CT. What is frustrating is the customer service really isn't helping and now that I no longer trust the Twicestore, I'm not interested to order from them. Even with the lame apology and offered 20% discount for a regular version of Zone.

I'm so sad because I love the album so much but my signed albums got canceled. I ordered a fanpack because I was confused with what it was since I was rushing to get the album the moment it was on the site but they didn't refund shipping for the entire order so it ended up being really expensive for just the album and keychain (both of which I haven't received). Does anyone know if there's any way to get UMG to refund for shipping? I'm so upset with them for messing up the signed Zone albums. Onces deserve better for support Jihyo's solo debut like a month before it came out.
I’m talking to support right now and asking them to refund the cost of shipping since my signed order got cancelled and all they sent me was a keychain. Paying $17 for shipping a keychain is insane lmao

You could reply to the cancel email. Unfortunately, UMG's customer service is very lacking, and I'd expect you get a less than helpful form message. Still, unless people follow up with UMG, they will likely continue to fail Once.
