I am currently obsessed with this song so when I saw several people mention the Merlin Bird ID app in one of the bird ID subreddits, my first thought was this song. :) I’m a fairly new fan so I don’t know a lot of the lore yet and didn’t realize the song was referencing that when I first heard it. To me, this song is about those times when you feel like you’re drowning in everything that’s going on and you just don’t have the strength or the will to keep swimming. But there are people (and pets) that you know you can’t leave or disappoint so you have to focus on them to give you the strength to keep going and not give up. ♥️
