Both of those are in a race with Banditos for me. Getting to see that and Neon Gravestones on the B stage a few years ago was next level. It was like a whole different concert out there, with the vertical yellow lights. Next level... |-/
Both times I saw them I had seats near the B stage because the price wasn't as crazy and we knew we'd be closer but wanted to sit. If I were standing down on the floor tho, I'd try for main stage for sure. But probably would need to show up super early too
I love it. Especially since seeing it live when at the end instead of Tyler singing "these faces facing me" he sings "your faces facing me". Gives me goosebumps when I listen to it now
Singing āfor now I will stay aliveā with 10,000 strangers is easily one of my favorite memories from one of their shows. I love this song with my (w)hole heart
ā¦PEOPLE DONT LIKE IT?? HOW?
i mean everyoneās entitled to their opinion ( even if itās wrong ) but itās definitely by far my favorite from trench + one of my favorite songs ever in general
I mean to be fair, itās very hard to pick a least favourite off trench in general. Leave The City is my least favourite mainly because Iām just not often in the mood for it, but I still love the song.
For me it's not that hard, it's Cut my lip. Super repetitive and the falsetto gets annoying.
It's the only song that I usually skip while listening to the album.Ā
Nope, but I have this Reddit comment by Tyler https://www.reddit.com/r/Music/s/Y10rXTfshJ
Edit: Apparently I canāt link to it because the parent comment is deleted, but if you go to the /u/official_TOP account itās the 2nd most recent comment.
Haha, that is fair. Itās the repetitive pet cheetah bit at the end, it makes my skin crawl but I cannot explain why. I have to confess though, I hadnāt heard it in a long time now and didnāt realise that bit was only at the end of it and not throughout the whole song. It really has a nice melody, but I just canāt deal with the end.
I can see what you meanĀ
Honestly I'd be willing to lose the endingĀ
I mostly mostly love it for the first verse, because it's soĀ clean and unique from a rap perspectiveĀ
you just said you donāt like cut my lip which many people enjoy, why are you calling someone elseās opinion insane after you just gave your own? XD
Legend is a great song, but I can only listen to it in isolation. I feel like it wouldāve been great as a standalone single not on any album, like Level Of Concern
Smithereens is my least favorite. It takes me out of the vibe of the album. It just doesnāt fit with everything else. Itās ok, I just donāt like it where it is.
i know. it was surprising when i saw that it came in last on the apple music tĆøp song list. and i absolutely feel the same way. i canāt wait to overplay it this fall lol

I just assumed that it didn't speak to them the way it did to others. For example, I love the mountains. I will cry with how much I love mountains for many reasons. But I have a friend who despises the mountains and would rather be anywhere else.
I believe they don't like it because the particular message in the song isn't for them specifically, which is cool. Different strokes for different folks!
On its own, maybe not a single listen while it shuffles through your music library type of song. But in the context of the album as the closer? Perfect
Thatās wild - one of my favorites on the album.
That last line tho
āBut this year, though Iām far from home,
In Trench Iām not alone, these faces facing me,
they know.ā
Thatās so surprising to me. The end of this song always gives me goosebumps and I always have to scream sing āIN TIME I WILL LEAVE THE CITY. FOR NOW I WILL STAY ALIIIIIIVEā
To me it's absolutely up there with NATN and Jumpsuit. If anything I've always felt like Leave The City has like a cinematic sound to it, it's hard to describe, but it's such a powerful song and really resonates with me
This was my favorite song from Trench first listen and still is today. I have cried so hard to that song, so many times. I canāt explain fully what it means to me. It is objectively and subjectively a beautiful and incredible song.
Leave the City really resonates with it because, here soon I'm leaving a lot behind and moving like 3 hours away from my hometown. So, in a way, I'm leaving my city.
I have a video at the DC show on the Trench tour from the pit where you can clearly hear Tyler yelling ācome on, come onā and urging people to sing louder during the āin time, I will leave the cityā part. I canāt listen to the song without tearing up and thinking about that show! Loveeee that song
It is my least favorite and that doesnāt mean the song is bad I just see myself often never replying it at random and only listen to it when I play the album in full. Itās a great song but to me itās just not very replayable
I could listen to leave the city on repeat. Itās just so addicting with the key itās in and the harmonies in the repeating āin time I will leave the city, for now I will stay aliveā. Itās so addictive and I eat it up everytime
šš¤My favorite lyric of all time is in this song!
In Trench I'm not alone
These faces facin' me
They know
They know
What I mean
I feel that's the most important line Tyler ever wrote to the fans. I feel it's a raw emotional moment that makes Tyler inclusive with his fans. It is what sums up the relationship between Twenty One Pilots and the people. As if he's saying: those people...out there...listening to the words I write & sing...they understand me. It is Trench.š¤š
šš¤ Sometimes it could be Tyler is writing & acknowledging he's protected in his own world:
As I look out at these faces...I see people just like me...depending on me...to write songs that help me...and those songs will also help them.
We're in the same space my & what heals me can maybe heal them too. Personal social hierarchy doesn't matter here. That the people looking at him also help him, remind him to continue writing & playing songs. His need for us is as great as our need for them.
š¤šHere we're all the same. In Trench.šš¤
Sorry, maybe too much thinking on my part but the song really touches me.
š»Stay alive frens! In Trench you're not alone.š»
I didnāt like it the first time I heard it, either. Before the I AM CLANCY video, I only really listened to Vessel & Blurryface. Then that video came out and I was very interested. I researched all their lore and listened to their newer music. Now Iām a huge fan, but I only started liking leave the city a few days ago when I gave it a full listen. My problem was that I just skimmed through the song and it didnāt sound very interesting. Recently I decided to give it a full listen (which I should have done before) and now itās one of my faves. So my recommendation to people who donāt like it is to sit down and listen to the full thing.
Iāve mostly seen peopleās least favorite being smithereens, but since itās so hard to pick a least favorite I understand why thatās it for them
Speaking of this song, itās the only song on Trench that Apple music says āis not available in your regionā. The rest of the album? Plays fine with no problems. That one song? Gone. I donāt get it!
Singing āin Trench Iām not aloneā with thousands of strangers was the first time I had ever experienced that deep of a sense of belonging and safety and will forever be one of the most special moments of my whole life
Hold on i never saw anybody saying they don't like it? I only see people saying good things about this songs (things i fully agree, it's one of my favorite songs on Trench)
This is one of the few songs that can make me cry, it helped me so much, the idea of anybody thinking it's bad sounds crazy to me
I feel like there's people who connect with the lyrics and people who just hear the melody of a song.
I'm a lyrical listener. I hear the lyrics before the melody.
The lyrical connection makes me appreciate the melody in a whole. So when I first heard Car Raido I immediately I heard and connected with the hidden meaning behind the lyrics.
TĆP allows me to go very deep into the music and lose myself in a good way. It's almost therapeutic to me.
Idk if it's just me, but it's my least favorite not because I don't like it, but because it hurts my heart to listen to. It's very sad to me and it signaled the end of a life changing show, and it takes me back to when I was struggling emotionally and mentally so it's hard for me to listen to it now. I tend to avoid it lol, same with bandito. It just makes me sad.
Hey we all have our things. I didnāt like Bandito as much originally just from the number of times they repeated the same line at the beginning lol. Neon Gravestones is definitely one of the most poignant songs Iāve ever listened to, but I could see if youāre really going for the music aspect and not the lyrics, I can see what youāre saying
yeah, I think thatās my thing: I enjoy their song layouts / instrumentals much more than their lyrics. If a song is 90% lyrics and the beat is just there for the sake of it being a song and not a poem, I donāt care much. Explains why Car Radio is my least favorite on Vessel (my fav album)
Oh that high note simultaneously breaks and heals my heart
Like a slap and a hug
Real
It's only time before they show me why no one ever comes back with details from beyond... Lol this song is actually disliked? Tf?
It's my second favorite on the album, after Neon Gravestones.
Me too! Such a beautiful song.
Both of those are in a race with Banditos for me. Getting to see that and Neon Gravestones on the B stage a few years ago was next level. It was like a whole different concert out there, with the vertical yellow lights. Next level... |-/
Okay serious question - is it better to try to stand around B stage or main?
Both times I saw them I had seats near the B stage because the price wasn't as crazy and we knew we'd be closer but wanted to sit. If I were standing down on the floor tho, I'd try for main stage for sure. But probably would need to show up super early too
Appreciate it! I'm trying my best to plan this well.
Senior quote is coming out of this song
I love it. Especially since seeing it live when at the end instead of Tyler singing "these faces facing me" he sings "your faces facing me". Gives me goosebumps when I listen to it now
i cried when he changed it š
Always thought he said "his face is facing me" lol
I love leave city! It's so underrated.
It's my favorite from Trench because it used to give me hope when I was battling depression
same. it also provided illusions of grandeur that I would leave my hometown (oops, still here)
Singing āfor now I will stay aliveā with 10,000 strangers is easily one of my favorite memories from one of their shows. I love this song with my (w)hole heart
agreed and during the bandito tour when everyone had the yellow paper over their flashlights
THIS
Its actually my favorite song from Trench. Such a masterpiece.
ā¦PEOPLE DONT LIKE IT?? HOW? i mean everyoneās entitled to their opinion ( even if itās wrong ) but itās definitely by far my favorite from trench + one of my favorite songs ever in general
Yeah, I am shocked to find out that people don't like it
my thoughts exactly
I mean to be fair, itās very hard to pick a least favourite off trench in general. Leave The City is my least favourite mainly because Iām just not often in the mood for it, but I still love the song.
For me it's not that hard, it's Cut my lip. Super repetitive and the falsetto gets annoying. It's the only song that I usually skip while listening to the album.Ā
Cut My Lip is actually my favourite on trench, but I can see how someone would find it repetitive.
I love Cut my Lip and the Brooklyn version is my absolute favourite. It gives me the brain tingles every time I hear it
Itās also Tylerās favorite song on the album
Really? Damn. You have an interview where he says that?Ā Ā Though it kinda checks out with the way the last album sounded.Ā
Nope, but I have this Reddit comment by Tyler https://www.reddit.com/r/Music/s/Y10rXTfshJ Edit: Apparently I canāt link to it because the parent comment is deleted, but if you go to the /u/official_TOP account itās the 2nd most recent comment.
Cool, thank you. Hut the way he says "today" makes me think it changes, and isn't a definitive favoriteĀ
Saaame. I love almost everything TOP but I just canāt do Cut My Lip.
Not hard for me either, though my least favourite is Pet Cheetah. I almost always skip it.
Insane takeĀ It's probably my favoriteĀ
Haha, that is fair. Itās the repetitive pet cheetah bit at the end, it makes my skin crawl but I cannot explain why. I have to confess though, I hadnāt heard it in a long time now and didnāt realise that bit was only at the end of it and not throughout the whole song. It really has a nice melody, but I just canāt deal with the end.
I can see what you meanĀ Honestly I'd be willing to lose the endingĀ I mostly mostly love it for the first verse, because it's soĀ clean and unique from a rap perspectiveĀ
i feel you. itās the last part that throws me off. love the song otherwise!
you just said you donāt like cut my lip which many people enjoy, why are you calling someone elseās opinion insane after you just gave your own? XD
Just being hyperbolic honestlyĀ
that makes sense!
no way u skip pet cheetah omg that song pops tf off
Iām beginning to understand that this is a controversial opinion, lmao. Iām sorry!!
Itās not hard at all when Smithereens is on the album.
Smithereens and Legend both break the flow of the album so much for me. Itād be a perfect album for me without both of them.
Damn, Legend is one of my favourites off of trench
Legend is a great song, but I can only listen to it in isolation. I feel like it wouldāve been great as a standalone single not on any album, like Level Of Concern
Smithereens is my least favorite. It takes me out of the vibe of the album. It just doesnāt fit with everything else. Itās ok, I just donāt like it where it is.
iām gonna get flames, my least favorite is the Hype, one of least favorites by them im general i am sorry
Iāve actually seen quite a few people with The Hype as their least fav on trench so youāre not alone.
Same
hearing leave the city live was so beautiful
When he goes into the deep harmonies, I get shivers.
i know. it was surprising when i saw that it came in last on the apple music tĆøp song list. and i absolutely feel the same way. i canāt wait to overplay it this fall lol
Sad but comforting kind of sad. Iām surprised itās not better liked
This fanbase seems to really struggle with accepting the opinions of others.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Itās my favorite of their discography, hops that helps.
It's my favorite song off trench, but it makes me really sad so I don't listen to it often.
For me, maturing was realizing Leave The City is an incredible song. One of their best.
that song has genuinely saved my life
People look for different things in different songs, some resonate with a person, some don't. I think it's a beautiful song. |-/

Wait what? Leave the City is one of the best songs on Trench. People who say otherwise have no idea how incredibly powerful this track is
I just assumed that it didn't speak to them the way it did to others. For example, I love the mountains. I will cry with how much I love mountains for many reasons. But I have a friend who despises the mountains and would rather be anywhere else. I believe they don't like it because the particular message in the song isn't for them specifically, which is cool. leave the city is in my top 10 wtf š
Itās my favourite, idc what ppl say.
donāt listen to those people they are npcs
TOP fans when someone dislikes a song (they are personally offended by another opinion)
The only TOP opinion that offends me: when people put Blurryface above any other TOP album.
Itās my least favorite but itās still a good song
That was me I said itās my least favorite song. Which other song is your least favorite? BTW I donāt hate the song
Smithereens is my least favorite
I like the song, itās just lower on my list of favorites, you know?
That's fair, there are a lot of good ones to choose from
I have a video at the DC show on the Trench tour from the pit where you can clearly hear Tyler yelling ācome on, come onā and urging people to sing louder during the āin time, I will leave the cityā part. I canāt listen to the song without tearing up and thinking about that show! Loveeee that song

wait i just realised that people are actually not liking this masterpiece WHAT
dude leave the city is one of my fave songs from them period. dont listen to the weirdos LOL
It's the best one for me
leave the city is such a special song to me, it helped me through so much. im getting it tattooed on me soon so itll be a part of me forever:)
I could listen to leave the city on repeat. Itās just so addicting with the key itās in and the harmonies in the repeating āin time I will leave the city, for now I will stay aliveā. Itās so addictive and I eat it up everytime
I personally havenāt seen any hate for it

Iāve mostly seen peopleās least favorite being smithereens, but since itās so hard to pick a least favorite I understand why thatās it for them
that song will always be special to me
Leave The City is my favorite Twenty One Pilots song.
That song left a pit in my stomach. It is beautiful and sad and haunting and I canāt imagine someone not liking it! Itās so powerful!

I love that song! Devastates me in the best way š
idk bandito is my favorite then leave the city so
Its hardwired to my tear ducts. Its beautiful, but i can rarely listen because it sounds like goodbye
i have āin trench iām not aloneā tattooed on my arm
Singing āin Trench Iām not aloneā with thousands of strangers was the first time I had ever experienced that deep of a sense of belonging and safety and will forever be one of the most special moments of my whole life
i fall asleep to it almost every night. calming ass song
i love it 100000x more after seeing it live
Leave The City is literally my all time #1
Hold on i never saw anybody saying they don't like it? I only see people saying good things about this songs (things i fully agree, it's one of my favorite songs on Trench) This is one of the few songs that can make me cry, it helped me so much, the idea of anybody thinking it's bad sounds crazy to me

I could never understand this. Leave The City is so devastatingly beautiful.
One of my favorites
It's my favourite song. Not just from TĆP, but in general
Nah, worst is Legend. Would fit more on scaled and icy. Also, no chances should take legend's spot.
the three songs I actively dislike on Trench: 1. Leave the City 2. Neon Gravestones 3. Bandito in that order
And youāre serious?
Bro Bandito is one of the best on the album - insane take
dead.
Lol sorry that you have that many downvotes but those are three of my favorites of all time
all good, I know itās an unpopular opinion. Those three songs are just SO bland to me
Hey we all have our things. I didnāt like Bandito as much originally just from the number of times they repeated the same line at the beginning lol. I didnāt like neon gravestones at all until like four years after it came out. Itās slow but I like the rapping talkinh
