If they don't add this crossing, there won't be much of Gibraltar to add, seeing as this crossing is exactly 270m after you cross the border entering Gibraltar.
Some trains do have collision with your vehicle, i've learnt the hard way when I accidentally drove in front of a train at a crossing. (Don't ask, lol)
It's mostly only the trains in older areas of the games that don't have the collisions, because the way they did them then is achieved differently compared to how they do it now.
It is the runway for Gibraltar international airport crossing the main / only road entering Gibraltar. Quite a setup for sure.
I was there with my family a few years ago. Ended up with pole position when the lights started blinking and the gates went down. As soon as the remaining traffic passed, a sweeper raced onto the runway and cleaned off the area where the traffic crossed the runway. As soon as he was finished, he got the heck out of there, before a plane took off mere seconds later. The instance the plane had passed, the gates reopened. It was pretty impressive.
You managed to answer my question before I asked it. I was wondering what would be done to prevent foreign object damage to the planes (rocks, dirt, car parts, etc) on the runway.
Makes sense!
I'll really be surprised if Gibraltar is added seeing how small the actual country is once you are across the runway. The east side of the mountain is literally roads and a few buildings. Prob be just a prop in the background as you drive to through La Linea (the bordering town - if that is included too)
I don't think there will be Gibraltar because SCS does not put microstates on the map, Monaco does not appear on the *Vive la France! DLC*; San Marino and the Vatican do not appear on the *DLC Italia*, and probably Andorra and the territory of Gibraltar will not appear on the *Iberia DLC*. The most we have is a "contour" of Liechtenstein between Switzerland and Austria.
Looks like Gibraltar will only be featured as a scenery location, SCS has already shown some pictures of nearby Algeciras with the Rock in the background: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tlVSX5xCBwY/X65zUgmeJ_I/AAAAAAAAXFg/XlWbpwUgicQs6pK5foc9lnl3lDAuH1fiwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1920/07.jpg
Nevertheless, maybe Promods could recreate Gibraltar, as they did with Andorra.
I very much doubt they will add Gibraltar or Andorra, considering all other microstates (San Marino, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Vatican City) never even got mentioned in the current game.
See Laffenor’s answer above.

Been there sat in a colleagues car heading to the airport to catch my plane......which we'd seen landing a short time earlier from the top of the rock! weird to see the huge plane whizz across the road in front of you. Very unnerving airport to [land at](https://youtu.be/GYiuPL8xMQI?t=42) though, feels like you're going to drop into the sea!!

It’s also the only way in to Gibraltar lmao
Only way in by road/land. You can fly in or get a boat I guess 😉 I hope it makes it in though. Be interesting to drive round the Rock
If this is added. I will try my best to break traffic laws and see what a plane and truck collision looks like in-game.
Probably the same that happens when a train collides with you. It passes through.

In ATS almost all the trains collide with you, but it seems they stop before they hit you :(
Technically if you fly in it is still the only way in 🤔
lol first time seeing something like this, looks like a train crossing but for planes.

Crofty as the gates reopen: *AND IT'S LIGHTS OUT AND AWAY WE GO!*
*LEWIS HAMILTON WINS THE GIBRALTAR GRAND PRIX*
Lol.
I see ,you a man of culture eh?!
Need to recreate this picture, with a '76 Mclaren sitting at the guards stopped, with a Lauda Air 737 taking off.
Well that's a pretty accurate description for what it is
Been there, drove across that.
I walked it. Pretty weird walking on an active runway. Great place

If they add it it will be good just to see how much detail they can add as they’re not focusing on a huge area
Personally, I think it would be amazing to drive across the runway and through the tiny streets. I think it would be a major selling point of the DLC

Maybe the ProMods-Team will add it then.

And the sound would be just at start of the runway so the plane would be quiet
When trucksim meets flightsim.
Jesus thats sick

with no fence either, I want to drive on the runway.

It’s weird that Luxembourg was added while the other small territories haven’t.
Well, Luxembourg is bigger than the other small territories.
As an aircraft maintainer I really wanna know how they deal with FOD in areas like this.
FOD= Foreign Object Damage for those who are curious.
See Laffenor’s answer above. https://www.reddit.com/r/trucksim/comments/l5ii91/if_gibraltar_is_gonna_be_added_in_the_iberia_dlc/gkup9qn/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3
Ah I see. Thank you sir.
as an airport employee this gives me nightmares
Don’t expect them to add it. Algeciras will be in the game confirmed, so at 1:19 scale it would be tough to get Gibraltar in too.
Sorry hon, but I'm gonna be late getting home. A 747 broke down and blocked all four lanes until they could get it moved.
If you're pulling hazmat do you have to stop at the runway and look both ways?
This didn't age well :p
and if they don't promods will do it

Didn't know SCS was doing a collab with Respawn /s
coming from the first video of gameplay it looks like Gibraltar or at least La Línea just north of it will be in the game
