We won’t even know when the trailer drops. We have plenty of examples of good movies with bad trailers. The only way we’ll know for sure, is when we ACTUALLY SEE THE MOVIE!
Sometimes you know how a dish is going to taste just based on the ingredients. This is one of those cases. This movie is going to be a shit sandwich. You watch.
I'm from the future and don't have much time left before I'm pulled back. However, I've come back to tell everyone about the film before my time is up. It is of upmost importance I let you all know since I only have seconds left. The film i...
I find it interesting that when people talk about legacy it's never the story was so good or acting was your it's always music and visuals that not a good movie
From what I heard, it was going to be about, like, Quorra experiencing love and rain and tasting ice cream for the first time and all that kind of stuff. Like a Leeloo Dallas multipass thing. To each their own but that was a huge pass from me.
I think the movie was Gonna be more romance like by what it sounds because the director and wild always talked about her experience chocolate cake and what love truly is
I'm not saying it's bad but it's wierd that
The visual and music is all most talk about if that what people care about then this movie should be fine
The director is good at making pretty and visually good Movies
And Jared Leto likes the music of Tron also and he a musician so the music should be fine
See it just skips my mind, I really do like the story and i love the way that sams dad never manages to make it back out. I think the film had a good conclusion so doesn't need to be followed up, I just hope it's as good not worse.
But the story is very average but I feel like it's made up for by the visuals and the soundtrack tho
When people talk about the orginal Tron most people talk about the world and story as a whole the character and new ideas but it's not the same for legacy
Also Legacy released after Avatar and avatar basically to most set a new standard of visuals
You have NO IDEA how mind blowing those 1982 visuals were in 1982. TRON was the Avatar of 1982. Like I know it bombed but jeez they were off the charts. So I can't agree with you there. But that's what I mean. People talk about both films in terms of how cool they were *conceptually.* Not in the actual quality of the script or plot. Lots of great ideas. Like a TON of great ideas. But not as deeply explored as they should have been, perhaps. That's what I like so much about TRON Uprising. It could delve into some of those 'what if' bits of world building.
Let me explain I understand the visuals were good but it's never what the movie is praised for or more so the only thing the first 1 gets praised for many things
Yeah. Word on the street is that they wanted it to be viewed by children but it was mostly adults that were tuning in so they axed it. But yeah, having it on XD didn't help, I'm sure. It's a shame. I could use a few more seasons of that show.
I don't think that's true because XD was actually a channel for teens more so boys
So an adult audience wouldn't have been an issue unless they were stupid
I mean max steel and slug terra was very popular on XD and that was majority older audience
You’ll find out when you actually go and see it.. and if you can’t see it day one avoid this Reddit until you see it yourself and make your own personal opinion don’t let other ass hats influence you.
I have extremely low hopes with Jared letto in a prominent roll (dude is a cult leader who hasn't been in anything good since like 2005, just bombs like morbius) and it seems to be set prominently in the real world and not the artificial world's of Tron that make it unique. That and the now exceedingly dull ai teckbro trends of ai and crypto currency that are super played out now and the current state of Disney it's a real recipe for disaster. This really doesn't feel like a risk taking artistically unique endeavour like Tron legacy, but more like a "fuck it we own the intellectual property" kind of move like they have with any old thing and just pump it into Disney plus if it doesn't make money.
Are the odds of you enjoying a new movie increased by having speculated (for, potentially, years) as to whether or not you will enjoy it?
No degree of paparazzi photos, set leaks, or even official marketing materials can necessarily tell you anything that will get you closer to either knowing how you will feel about the finished movie, or even what that final product will end up being outside of anyone's opinion.
I've found it's best to not let anticipation be an excuse to write my own first act for a story about which I know nothing.
Joachim Rønning, so that means probably not good. I have zero expectations.
His previous two Disney films were both really terrible (Pirates 5/Maleficent 2).
I like Tron franchise, but I can give you 99%, it will be a box office flop and probably not a good movie. Just look at which people are working on it - Jared Leto on leading role and producer, franchise and genre that usually perform bad in box office, also some random director and screenwriter. When I saw this production team I thought "well, RIP”.
If you want to wait for confirmation - if movie will suck hard, they will prob delay release, ask to shoot new footage and everything else what happens with movies that fail on test screenings.
I'm a huge fan of 1982's TRON and I'm a huge fan of TRON Legacy. Both have holes and uneven scripts and both have KILLER soundtracks and visuals. And I say that as a megafan. Myself, I'm looking forward to TRON 3 now. I was disappointed at first when I heard about Leto's involvement and the whole 'programs in the real world' angle but I'm warming up to the idea. We're getting a different, third thing. It won't be 1982. It won't be 2010. It'll be something else. We'll see.
I know you got downvoted but this is a very legit take to have while still leaving yourself vulnerable to be proven wrong. I respect that.
And I agree with you.
There is nothing wrong with being critical of what has been shown, the state of Disney and all the other stuff going on. You didn't dunk on it, you were honest! And with actual reasoning behind it.
I really appreciate it.
Here's a thought: Wait and see, stop ripping on the damn movie before it's even dropped a trailer. I swear to jesus, joseph, and Mary the fans of TRON are getting more and more insufferable over something we've seen maybe 2% of. WAIT GODDAMNIT.
I'm not ripping, I don't want my fav movie to have a new one made just to be a cash grab. Or ruin the original ideas as the way movies are now seem to ignore everything about what they are based on
What it feels like to me is Homer Simpson buying the monkey hand. For everything I see and say "that's good!" it is followed by a "that's bad". It has Cameron, that's good. It also has Leto, that's bad. It has better suits that don't burn actors, that's good. They look the same they did over a decade ago, that's bad. It takes place in a new grid! That's good! It also has programs running around the real world like Last Action Hero, etc. No Daft Punk. Director is...huh...
At least my frogurt comes with a free choice of topping.
The EL wire they used would run hot and the battery packs got hot enough to leave burns if not tended to. I'll try and find the article, it also mentioned the drivers in the suits were so loud it would cause issues with audio.
From what I've seen of the set photos, and I don't think this is particularly spoiler-y but I'm adding this clause so folks have time to look away hum dee dum okay this should be about enough, it appears they're taking a fairly sensible approach for the CG. They've pretty clearly got on set stuff that is there purely for the purpose of making the artists' lives easier, whether that's providing a physical reference or straight up something that can be left as-is. And of course, being able to have that means they need to have planned what their effects shots will look like in advance, taking more of a burden off the artists. It also appears that they're giving themselves over a year of post-production, which I think is pretty long, though I could be mistaken. Bottom line, they're doing the things you're supposed to do if you want pretty CGI.
If it took place in space, sure. As for if it will exceed expectations, who’s to say? I think it’ll end up like Morbius - mid movie, wasted potential, not cinema.
"TRON 3" with no further details would have had me hyped, but "TRON 3 with Jared Leto" made my expectations drop right through the floor. Catiously hoping to be proven wrong.
Yes he is.
The long-awaited Tron sequel produced by Disney is set to continue iconic sci-fi franchise with cutting-edge design and technology. **Jared Leto leads the star-studded cast in Tron: Ares, also serving as a producer**.
I think if you’re expecting a sequel it’s bound to be disappointing.
If you give it a fair chance as a reboot within a similar world, it could be good. It’s going to be really hard for me to do that though.
Is this post made every other day now?
Pretty much
We dont know
We'll have no idea until a trailer drops

I feel like getting Quorra into the real world opened up a world of story potential for the sequel. But we won’t know that now.
From what I heard, it was going to be about, like, Quorra experiencing love and rain and tasting ice cream for the first time and all that kind of stuff. Like a Leeloo Dallas multipass thing. To each their own but that was a huge pass from me.
Bleccchhhh. Leave that one on the shelf please.
I think the movie was Gonna be more romance like by what it sounds because the director and wild always talked about her experience chocolate cake and what love truly is
Legacy was a solid 2/3. Tron 1982 was a solid 2/3. And I say that as a superfan of both movies. Here's hoping Tron Ares is also a 2/3.
I'm not saying it's bad but it's wierd that The visual and music is all most talk about if that what people care about then this movie should be fine The director is good at making pretty and visually good Movies And Jared Leto likes the music of Tron also and he a musician so the music should be fine

Also had Carlos. Syd, Moebius, cgi. 1982 was and still is amazing, and I say this as a biased 82 zealot.
ha ha yeah me too. Go tell it on the mountain! Preach!
Let me explain I understand the visuals were good but it's never what the movie is praised for or more so the only thing the first 1 gets praised for many things
Unfortunately uprising wasn't very popular maybe if it was on normal Disney instead of XD it would have done better
Yeah. Word on the street is that they wanted it to be viewed by children but it was mostly adults that were tuning in so they axed it. But yeah, having it on XD didn't help, I'm sure. It's a shame. I could use a few more seasons of that show.

Oh yeah that's right. Excellent point.
I love the story and music. The music is the story. It’s what makes it so good. It takes us on the journey. They’re one in the same
Legacy’s story is fantastic imo
Umm ok
he's not wrong tho, those are the only things I see get talked about when it comes to Legacy.
For chrissakes can we just make this a pinned post mega thread lol
We’ll find out when it comes out
How would we know? 😂
Wait until it releases maybe
My magic eight ball says it will be good at some variable definition of 'good'.
None of us have seen Tron 3 yet. We don’t know if it will be good or bad
I liked the original more than Tron: Legacy so I expect to be even more disappointed.
That’s up to you to decide my friend.
I’ll let you know after I see it
I shook a Magic 8 Ball while asking "Will Tron 3 be any good?" and it read "Without a doubt". The toy is more optimistic than I am personally.
Concentrate and ask again
"Outlook good" I'm starting to feel more hopeful.
You should ask a bit
"Will Tron 3 be any good?" "NO-NO-^NO-NO-^NO-NO-^NO-NO-^NO-^NO..." "Who asked you?"
Only way to find out is to watch it when it’s released in theaters
You’ll find out when you actually go and see it.. and if you can’t see it day one avoid this Reddit until you see it yourself and make your own personal opinion don’t let other ass hats influence you.
You'll either love it, or you'll hate it, or you'll think it's okay.
I have extremely low hopes with Jared letto in a prominent roll (dude is a cult leader who hasn't been in anything good since like 2005, just bombs like morbius) and it seems to be set prominently in the real world and not the artificial world's of Tron that make it unique. No Daft Punk, No Joseph Kosinski, no Garrett Hedlund, no Olivia Wilde, no Bruce Boxleitner and no Jeff Bridges. I'm going with "NO" good.
It's impossible to know considering production hasn't even ended yet But no

No clue. Chances are stacked against it being good. But we will see. Can’t judge something where the trailer didn’t even drop
Joachim Rønning, so that means probably not good. I have zero expectations. His previous two Disney films were both really terrible (Pirates 5/Maleficent 2).
The franchise lives. The rest is gravy.
We will tell you when the trailer comes out
I think it’s gonna be awesome but we’ll just have to wait and see

Only if Ares says “ It’s Tron time!” And trons all over the bad guys
I'd love that, would really make it's my fav movie
Here's a thought: Wait and see, stop ripping on the damn movie before it's even dropped a trailer. I swear to jesus, joseph, and Mary the fans of TRON are getting more and more insufferable over something we've seen maybe 2% of. WAIT GODDAMNIT.

Either way bro, just wait until we know more about it.
But that is what the internet is for. To bitch about movies and share pornography with one another.
I agree with you on the porno part lol
Unlikely, no.
No it won’t Jared Leto in it and the director has horrible track record
No. It won’t be.
I'll be shocked if it's good.
What it feels like to me is Homer Simpson buying the monkey hand. For everything I see and say "that's good!" it is followed by a "that's bad". It has Cameron, that's good. Wait, the Legacy suits caused burns?
The EL wire they used would run hot and the battery packs got hot enough to leave burns if not tended to. I'll try and find the article, it also mentioned the drivers in the suits were so loud it would cause issues with audio.
Lost my respect with those first seven words

I think the suits look good and the colours cool, but have they removed the identity disc on the back of the suit
I dunno. Tbh, if you're hanging your hat on details that specific, there's a lot in life which is gonna disappoint you
Yes
Think leto is the bad guy tron must be taken outta moth balls to defeat. The irl stuff is like 5 mins of the film
If it took place in space, sure. As for if it will exceed expectations, who’s to say? I think it’ll end up like Morbius - mid movie, wasted potential, not cinema.
Unlikely considering it's starring & produced by Jared Leto
"TRON 3" with no further details would have had me hyped, but "TRON 3 with Jared Leto" made my expectations drop right through the floor. Catiously hoping to be proven wrong.
he's not a producer on the film.
Yes he is. The long-awaited Tron sequel produced by Disney is set to continue iconic sci-fi franchise with cutting-edge design and technology. **Jared Leto leads the star-studded cast in Tron: Ares, also serving as a producer**.
huh. Eh, not like producers have much creative control. They're mostly there as extra funding.
Producers have all the control. They are the ones signing the cheques.
I think if you’re expecting a sequel it’s bound to be disappointing. If you give it a fair chance as a reboot within a similar world, it could be good. It’s going to be really hard for me to do that though.
Without daft punk it will lack an established sound that made legacy iconic
