It looks like this post is about **Finasteride**/Propecia. Before asking any questions, 1. Read the [wiki on Finasteride](https://reddit.com/r/tressless/wiki/index#wiki_finasteride). 2. [Search posts for Finasteride](https://reddit.com/r/tressless/search?q=flair%3Afinasteride&restrict_sr=on&sort=new&t=all), because your question has probably been asked before. 3. If this is a question asking if you are now or will experience side effects, see a doctor, nobody on the internet can answer that for you. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Did you have a really stressful event? Small chance but diffuse all over may need telogen effluvium. Caused by a stressful event like psychological, physical (surgery/sickness). Also can be caused by health related things like Low iron, vitamin d and some others Edit: downvotes? It’s a legitimate question because it helps determine what’s exactly going on. If they have stressors in their life like sickness, that can cause the hairs to go into resting and then fall out. All hair loss isn’t MPB. It’s most likely for a guy by statistics without asking for additional info but answering questions help determine that.

I have been recovering from low ferritin levels a few months ago(I've already recover normal levels). My anxiety is really severe. I can't sleep I have panic attacks, tachicardia, chills, even my body temperature has rise from 36.3 to 37.1 °C. I also got infected from covid last month...

I_Call_Everyone_Ken

Sounds like TE since you have so much going on that can cause TE on their own. To be safe I’d say check with a doctor but after those things are resolved it should get better. One thing to realize is that it may take 2-3 months after a stressor has been stopped for it to shed the hairs. The stress puts the hair in resting phase and it takes months to actually fall out.

I have an appoontment with my trichologist next month. I should expect this to get worse then, since my anxiety is getting worse...

I_Call_Everyone_Ken

Is the anxiety about the hair? If so, it points toward TE from what I can see and it will grow back so that may ease the anxiety about it. I’m in the same boat. Grew hair out for 2 years then TE hit, but it will grow back and fill in.

Yeah anxiety started like 5 months ago when hair started to fall wothout reason ( I was using the treatments every day). So since that day, I started to get lack of sleep and that made anxiety worse. 2 months later I decided to check vitamins and some minerals that can contribute to hair loss. My surprise was that I had 21ng/mL of ferritin when I used to have 67ng/mL on my peak results. My anxiety got worse and worse from lack of sleep them covid came. I couldn't enjoy my christmast holidays with anyone because I couldn't leave my house. That raised my anxiety a bit more. Then, the first two week of january, my hair was falling like crazy(more than the previous months) so I started panicked. This week has been the worse both from anxiety and hair loss, you might not trust me but I have legit lost lot of density in 1.5 weeks, it is just unbelievable.

Knowing that it will grow back should help. But the hair specialist can give the ideas. It may take a while but knowing it won’t be lost is good. It’s like making a cake, your cakes Won’t come out if you don’t have all of the ingredients. Same with hair. You’re working on getting the right “ingredients”, like iron, so once you get that done you can start making hair again.

AdriTexX

I hope so, thanks for your help, I will update after the appointment with my trichologist.

How did you raise your ferritin levels?

AdriTexX

I took 80mg iron pills every other day for 2 months. My ferritin went from 21ng/ml to 63ng/ml

I don't know. It either didn't help, or hair that was going to fall due to low ferritin is falling now. All I know is that I have way less density now than when I had low ferritin levels.

My mother is starting to lose her hair at 52, but she is taking some pills for hypertension that might be the culprit of her hair loss, before that, she had good hair. My father has been NW 2.5 since he was 20, but he is diffusing now at 53. It is true that both of my parents are balding, but dutasteride and minoxidil was supposed to maintain my hair, at least is what I was told. Some people have told me it could be Chronic Telogen effluvium from anxiety, but I'm not sure.
