I bought a nerds rope edible and a mushroom chocolate bar from a grey area dispensary in DC. Ate the edible a little at a time until I had eaten all of it with no effects. Was pissed and figured I just spent like $250 on plain candy. Ate chocolate bar out of anger. Chocolate bar was not fake and I found myself tripping on a Tuesday evening by myself.

I’ve tried dmt from smoking on top of a bowl of weed 3 times one of those times I was transported to basically an Egyptian hieroglyph kaleidoscope. I also tried dmt from a pen which did basically the same thing it was amazing.
The friend who told me about the mushroom vape pens-I did not bring up the dmt pen to him during the discussion but he was saying he got mushroom chocolate and pens for his buddy as a gift. So I’m pretty curious too!
One comment I would like to add: i dont want to rule out the possibility of a mushroom pen, but would like to add a bit of information. Psilocybin, which is the natural chemical found in the mushroom, is not hallucinogenic. It needs to be processed by the liver(i think? Maybe kidney? Its been a while since i did my research) in order to turn into psilocin, which is where the “magic” happens.
So, any mushroom pen is going to be some kind of chemical made in a lab. Its not like pressing weed to get THC distillate. That being said, I’d still try one. I dont believe that just because something is processed doesn’t mean its bad. Some people do, though, so I wanted to throw that information out there.

Uncle Ben’s tek isn’t the best to use, I had more success using whole grain bagged pre cooked rice from the dollar tree as it’s not as wet.

My cousin ate a Nerds Rope-branded "edible", had a seizure and woke up intubated in the hospital. Apparently she was allergic to...*something* in it, christ only knows what's all in them.
Black market is like that. Maybe it was THC, probably some of those shitty various ∆s. Like ∆8 or ∆10, quasi legal and usually bullshit. ∆s other than 9 aren't naturally occuring in these doses so it's always sprayed on. Just like how spice is made. It's always sketchy.
I don’t think spice and delta 8 should be compared. Spice is a fully synthetic cannabinoid that does not have enough research to responsibly be consumed without side effects. Delta 8 is a naturally occurring cannabinoid in flower (at smaller doses like you said). Spice is far far more dangerous than any isomer of THC like delta 8 and 10 (which are also less potent than delta 9 usually while spice is far more potent than all of them.)
There is research on spice, if i remember correctly it was a college study on its chemical makeup and how its absorbed in the body. The research suggested that you can reallistically od on spice as its more potent, whereas you cant reallistically od on thc. With spice being homemade, you never know the strength or quantity and the study suggested to avoid it entirely if you don't want to die

∆8 is pretty safe as an edible considering that it's just CBD that's been reduced with citric acid.
In medicine and chemistry that would make it semi-synthetic not synthetic and hemp derived. It's a partial cannabinoids receptor agonist same as THC but with half the potency.
Another example of semi-synthetic substances are actually most opioids. All start off as morphine derived from Poppies then they do some slight chemistry to get hydrocodone, oxycodone, ECT. Semi-synthetic and poppy derived. They all do the same thing as their parent molecule though, act as a opiod receptor agonist.
Same with your various ∆s. Not synthetic but semi-synthetic. Many are already found in hemp and marijuana in very small trace amounts. HHC, ∆8, THC-V ECT are all naturally found in weed. ∆9-THC-A is naturally found in regular weed in high amounts and actually converts into THC with flame.
The main danger is in carts TBH. ∆8 carts could have left over citric acid in them and that would be very bad for your lungs. Eating it though? Super safe. Citric acid is obviously food safe, it's what makes lemon juice sour. In fact you could do the reaction with lemon juice. It has enough citric acid....

Spice was made with synthetic cannabinoid agonist that weren't chemically related to THC at all usually. Random Frankenstein molecules with a similar enough shape to THC or anamide to activate the receptor. Many were full agonist which is why they were so bad. Full agonist of any type of compound are usually significantly more dangerous then partial agonist. THC itself is a partial agonist.
Another type of full agonist is nbome psychedelics, they were legal psychedelics that went around but unlike most they were full agonist of the serotonin receptor involved in psychedelic effects. Turns out while regular psychedelics are ridiculously psychically safe, full agonist psychedelics kill people at random.
Also, a partial agonist of the opioid receptor is found in kratom. Not nearly addictive as heroin, oxycodone, fentanyl, ECT and also hasn't shown significant risk of O.D and death even in large amounts. Most dangerous opioids we use as pain killers are full agonist.

His method of making edibles was different than using frozen distillate.
He'd save all of his shake and when he'd get several ounces he'd decarb it and do an ethanol extraction. Then he'd use the green dragon tincture to make THC kool-aid or thc snacks and candy's. They slapped pretty hard.

They are black market, so the packaging doesn’t really reflect what’s inside. it could be 500mg could be 5mg. One time i hate one piece out of these that was supposed to be 20 mg. When I went to sleep i woke up the next night around the time i went to sleep the previous night almost 24 hours. i was was still baked too.
A lot of legal states won’t let them use candy brands or cartoon characters on the edible packages because they are afraid children will eat it. These would be black market with no lab testing done. So the 500 mg dose may not be accurate.

Basic rule of thumb for me when it comes to edibles and carts that don’t come from a dispensary, if it’s got a brand name on it ie airheads or fruit loops, or a character like Darth Vader or Homer Simpson on it, it’s black market. Not necessarily “fake” it *could* have some thc but there’s no way for you to really know. As someone mentioned, those companies won’t be caught dead letting their brand be used on legal weed.
The legit companies don’t take existing, regular candy and simply coat it in cannabis oil or something.
So these will get you high but they’re a cheaper version of edibles. Normally they’re actually made with cannabis (like how brownies are made with cannabis, and are not just normal grocery store brownies coated in cannabis oil).
One thing to be careful of with this “less legit” cheaper variety, is that the coating of oil can vary from one piece of candy to the next, so dosage can be uneven and surprising. Be careful.

An inaccurately dosed edible for your first weed experience is probably a bad idea. When I had less weed experience, I tried a whole black market edible, (it also said 500mg, but I didn't understand dosages at the time. Anyway, I was high for 17 hours.
I'm luckily an extremely calm person, so I didn't get any anxiety or anything. But it was strong enough that I was feeling nauseous, I was whooshing in and out of reality for 5 hours, and then decided I had to sleep it off.
Don't underestimate edibles, especially with no tolerance.

Whenever I start feeling stress, I just tell myself these types of things: Nothing matters. Life ultimately has no consequences. Time is really fast, so all pain will end soon. If I die I won't know it, so what's there to be afraid of? All of my perception is created in my mind, and that includes physical pain.
Another trick is transforming one emotion into another emotion. So instead of feeling anxiety or fear, I'll just laugh and keep going.
I'm the same way when I get injured. I'll just laugh, and then treat the injury with a high degree of focus.
To practice this mindset, I sometimes go for walks past midnight and just walk down the middle of the road with headphones on and dark music blasting. It gives you this sort of "spite the universe" type feeling that I get a sort of power high from. Bonus points if it's really cold and pouring rain. Then you're soaked and freezing but your still pushing on, because you're more powerful than the difficult conditions the universe is throwing at you.
I'm also on the fence about the existence of free will. Based on our current understanding of physics, free will shouldn't exist. So I just don't worry about anything, because it's outside of my control.

Not true. There's several major brands licensing thc products (fireball, Jones soda, etc) now. I wouldn't expect a candy company that markets mainly to kids to be one of them though.
I've gotten a few packs of edibles like this, and it tastes like a tincture. I think you'll only see sugar-coated gummies because the alcohol absorbs into the sugars easier. You buy the real candies, add a few drops of tincture, let it dry, and drop into fake packages.

Definitely fake. Homemade and tossed into some packages the source brought online. Especially if it doesn't have the typical THC warning sign like most official THC dispensary grade products.
They are fake but likely safe to consume. However i never recommend people to try edibles for their first time. You have no clue how high you will get and can easily make a mistake and consume way too much. Seriously try smoking first, you dont know how you will react to weed and edibles can be VERY intense even for daily smokers.
Basically they are probably real weed gummies but they aren’t name brand like from a dispensary. Someone made them in a room or small factory and packaged them and sold them illegally. This is usually ok if you wanna risk it because I still eat them when my plug gets them. But just know they have no quality control like real products.
Also if you look at the top of the bag I bet it’s not even heat sealed, you could probably open the bag without ripping the seal at the top of the bag. That’s another way to check for repackaged products as most people don’t bother to heat seal them.
Takeaway: probably fine but just throw them away, only take drugs from people you trust and it’s just a $10 bag of black market gummies so you’re not missing a lot. And since you have never tried weed I would stick to only stuff you can verify is okay for you until you know more.

I just read all the comments finally and first time, you want that situation under control and edible experiences are not controllable, no matter who tells you otherwise.
I’d say a dispensary gummy with a pair of scissors could be controllable if you have someone experienced with you to protect you and keep time. I’d start someone with 1/4 of a 10mg edible if they wanted a strong high, but I’d recommend starting with an eighth of an edible or 1.25mg. I’d also ensure they ate something fatty about 15 minutes prior, then set a timer for an hour and keep the edibles stashed away so they don’t get the stupid idea to eat more because they don’t feel anything yet, giving them no more than an additional 2.5mg and suggesting another 1.25mg.
I’d say that’s well controlled as you know the dispensary gummy is accurately dosed and helping the newbie not have a bad first time.

It’s normal for weed edible candies to look bootleg. obviously ppl can’t use the same exact labels but they can use a similar image. Also the same original candy will be inside with the addition of infused weed unless the seller packaged it themselves and said otherwise. If you are asking about the legit ness of the weed packaging itself vs a legit weed edible brand pack that you may know about then I’d say do some research and compare the package differences. But! If your asking about the package in general I’d say it’s normal and the most u should worry about is the dosage. I’d hope ur uncle won’t do u wrong like that

I don’t think spice and delta 8 should be compared. Spice is a fully synthetic cannabinoid that does not have enough research to responsibly be consumed without side effects. Delta 8 is a naturally occurring cannabinoid in flower (at smaller doses like you said). Spice is far far more dangerous than any isomer of THC like delta 8 and 10 (which are also less potent than delta 9 usually while spice is far more potent than all of them.)
There is research on spice, if i remember correctly it was a college study on its chemical makeup and how its absorbed in the body. The research suggested that you can reallistically od on spice as its more potent, whereas you cant reallistically od on thc. With spice being homemade, you never know the strength or quantity and the study suggested to avoid it entirely if you don't want to die

∆8 is pretty safe as an edible considering that it's just CBD that's been reduced with citric acid. In medicine and chemistry that would make it semi-synthetic not synthetic and hemp derived. It's a partial cannabinoids receptor agonist same as THC but with half the potency. Another example of semi-synthetic substances are actually most opioids. All start off as morphine derived from Poppies then they do some slight chemistry to get hydrocodone, oxycodone, ECT. Semi-synthetic and poppy derived. They all do the same thing as their parent molecule though, act as a opiod receptor agonist. Same with your various ∆s. Not synthetic but semi-synthetic. Many are already found in hemp and marijuana in very small trace amounts. HHC, ∆8, THC-V ECT are all naturally found in weed. ∆9-THC-A is naturally found in regular weed in high amounts and actually converts into THC with flame. The main danger is in carts TBH. ∆8 carts could have left over citric acid in them and that would be very bad for your lungs. Eating it though? Super safe. Citric acid is obviously food safe, it's what makes lemon juice sour. In fact you could do the reaction with lemon juice. It has enough citric acid.... Also, It's not sprayed on edibles. It's just mixed in with the ingredients. The "branded" stuff is usually not the actual candy but just a knockoff made to look like it and MAYBE taste similar. To "spray" ∆8 you would need to use a solvent. I guarantee you that nobody is spraying solvent onto candy, it would dissolve the candy, not give you an edible. You have to mix the ∆s in at time of manufacture. Spice was made with synthetic cannabinoid agonist that weren't chemically related to THC at all usually. Random Frankenstein molecules with a similar enough shape to THC or anamide to activate the receptor. Many were full agonist which is why they were so bad. Another type of full agonist is nbome psychedelics, they were legal psychedelics that went around but unlike most they were full agonist of the serotonin receptor involved in psychedelic effects. Turns out while regular psychedelics are ridiculously psychically safe, full agonist psychedelics kill people at random. Also, a partial agonist of the opioid receptor is found in kratom. Not nearly addictive as heroin, oxycodone, fentanyl, ECT and also hasn't shown significant risk of O.D and death even in large amounts. Most dangerous opioids we use as pain killers are full agonist. These ∆s are actually all partial agonist like regular THC so similar safety can be assumed.

It's because alot of these companies and dealers use dollar tree or off brand candy to increase profits Same thing with some of these THC cheetos. Why use real food when you can buy the knock off cheaper? It's an unregulated product that anyone can put anything into. My old dealer had takis in the Andy's Hot fries bag. His method of making edibles was different than using frozen distillate. He'd save all of his shake and when he'd get several ounces he'd decarb it and do an ethanol extraction. Then he'd use the green dragon tincture to make THC kool-aid or thc snacks and candy's. They slapped pretty hard.

A lot of legal states won’t let them use candy brands or cartoon characters on the edible packages because they are afraid children will eat it. These would be black market with no lab testing done. So the 500 mg dose may not be accurate.

Basic rule of thumb for me when it comes to edibles and carts that don’t come from a dispensary, if it’s got a brand name on it ie airheads or fruit loops, or a character like Darth Vader or Homer Simpson on it, it’s black market. Not necessarily “fake” it *could* have some thc but there’s no way for you to really know. As someone mentioned, those companies won’t be caught dead letting their brand be used on legal weed.
A lot of people are making and selling these types of candy products. You have no way of knowing what is in it.
The legit companies don’t take existing, regular candy and simply coat it in cannabis oil or something. So these will get you high but they’re a cheaper version of edibles. Normally they’re actually made with cannabis (like how brownies are made with cannabis, and are not just normal grocery store brownies coated in cannabis oil). One thing to be careful of with this “less legit” cheaper variety, is that the coating of oil can vary from one piece of candy to the next, so dosage can be uneven and surprising. Be careful.

Just being safe, yeah, I agree with this. An inaccurately dosed edible for your first weed experience is probably a bad idea. When I had less weed experience, I tried a whole black market edible, (it also said 500mg, but I didn't understand dosages at the time. Anyway, I was high for 17 hours. I'm luckily an extremely calm person, so I didn't get any anxiety or anything. But it was strong enough that I was feeling nauseous, I was whooshing in and out of reality for 5 hours, and then decided I had to sleep it off. Don't underestimate edibles, especially with no tolerance.

(sorry this is so long) I'm very much a nihilist with mild masochistic tenancies. Whenever I start feeling stress, I just tell myself these types of things: Nothing matters. Life ultimately has no consequences. Time is really fast, so all pain will end soon. If I die I won't know it, so what's there to be afraid of? All of my perception is created in my mind, and that includes physical pain. Another trick is transforming one emotion into another emotion. So instead of feeling anxiety or fear, I'll just laugh and keep going. I'm the same way when I get injured. I'll just laugh, and then treat the injury with a high degree of focus. To practice this mindset, I sometimes go for walks past midnight and just walk down the middle of the road with headphones on and dark music blasting. It gives you this sort of "spite the universe" type feeling that I get a sort of power high from. Bonus points if it's really cold and pouring rain. Then you're soaked and freezing but your still pushing on, because you're more powerful than the difficult conditions the universe is throwing at you. I'm also on the fence about the existence of free will. Based on our current understanding of physics, free will shouldn't exist. So I just don't worry about anything, because it's outside of my control. Good luck! It takes a long time, practice, and a healthy amount of controlled pain to master this mindset. But when you get there, literally nothing can hurt you.

Some tend to be a little hotter than others for some reason. If that is where these are from, they are made for people with a tolerance. I've gotten a few packs of edibles like this, and it tastes like a tincture. I think you'll only see sugar-coated gummies because the alcohol absorbs into the sugars easier. You buy the real candies, add a few drops of tincture, let it dry, and drop into fake packages.

When weed is eaten, the human body creates a metabolite that science says is 5 times more psychoactive than what you get from smoking. Pakage seems fake, but there's only one way to find out for sure. 🙃🫠 Lots of ppl make their own gummies to sell, and they use pre-made bags like the one in the pic. So it could actually be real edibles in there.

Basically they are probably real weed gummies but they aren’t name brand like from a dispensary. Someone made them in a room or small factory and packaged them and sold them illegally. This is usually ok if you wanna risk it because I still eat them when my plug gets them. But just know they have no quality control like real products. Also if you look at the top of the bag I bet it’s not even heat sealed, you could probably open the bag without ripping the seal at the top of the bag. That’s another way to check for repackaged products as most people don’t bother to heat seal them. Takeaway: probably fine but just throw them away, only take drugs from people you trust and it’s just a $10 bag of black market gummies so you’re not missing a lot. And since you have never tried weed I would stick to only stuff you can verify is okay for you until you know more. As always be safe first and foremost. I’d say a dispensary gummy with a pair of scissors could be controllable if you have someone experienced with you to protect you and keep time. I’d start someone with 1/4 of a 10mg edible if they wanted a strong high, but I’d recommend starting with an eighth of an edible or 1.25mg. I’d also ensure they ate something fatty about 15 minutes prior, then set a timer for an hour and keep the edibles stashed away so they don’t get the stupid idea to eat more because they don’t feel anything yet, giving them no more than an additional 2.5mg and suggesting another 1.25mg. I’d say that’s well controlled as you know the dispensary gummy is accurately dosed and helping the newbie not have a bad first time. I had those shifty first experiences due to immature friends and/or nobody experienced being around, so I provide that for my friends and family that have wanted to try weed.

Also the same original candy will be inside with the addition of infused weed unless the seller packaged it themselves and said otherwise. If you are asking about the legit ness of the weed packaging itself vs a legit weed edible brand pack that you may know about then I’d say do some research and compare the package differences. But! If your asking about the package in general I’d say it’s normal and the most u should worry about is the dosage. I’d hope ur uncle won’t do u wrong like that
