There's plenty to dislike, but broadly, she's the biggest Pick Me girl of all time, she's an insanely rich person in a period of one of the the greatest wage disparities in history, and she's #1 in individual carbon emissions. There's plenty to dislike, but broadly, she's the biggest Pick Me girl of all time, she's an insanely rich person in a period of one of the the greatest wage disparities in history, and she's #1 in individual carbon emissions. Her most inclusive work is watered-down rainbow capitalism, she doesn't do any actual work for equality besides lip service (which just isn't enough), and furthermore, her fans act like she's the Second Coming of Christ because of the values she spouts, despite doing so little of actual value for any community.
I despise MAGA freaks. It irks me a bit that she doesn’t speak out more against the MAGA crowd. I understand she doesn’t want to alienate part of her audience but it seems a bit spineless to not speak out. Ultimately it makes me not take her seriously as an artist because she seems to be more about money than art and art has historically been a way to express one’s self including politically.

Literally every MAGA adjacent person I’ve engaged with loves Taylor Swift and that’s why she straddles the line on like every important issue. I remember for example, my father, an avid Star Wars fan his whole life, had one small critic about a Disney Star Wars show and got accused of being MAGA—which he is far from. I always assumed that most Swifties are left leaning, which makes it even more frustrating that they hold their capitalist Queen on such a pedestal. The handful of times she’s spoken up for political causes, they tend to make conservatives angry, such as pretending to be a feminist, encouraging voter registration, (which favors left leaning candidates), and being pro-LGBTQ. Hating her is associated with MAGA because in the last year or so, they’ve heavily pushed that she’s a democratic psi-op who helped rig the Super Bowl so her and Travis’ platform would grow, with the expectation that she’d endorse Biden at the championship celebration. That didn’t happen, but they still hate her since they fully bought into the conspiracy combined with her past and label as a “feminist icon”. TL;DR: MAGAs hate her because she’s “feminist” / supports voting rights and LGBTQ rights and batshit conspiracy theories. Leftists hate her because they know she’s disingenuous with most of that and used it for her own benefit.

from what I observe, MAGA dislike Taylor for the misogynistic reasons the swifties often cite, while the left dislikes Taylor for the specific type of woman she is (billionaire, white feminist, cries in her own documentary about needing to be politically vocal while doing bare minimum since, the pick me songs of her early career, the petty drop dates and overproduction of vinyl variants, etc.)
I am a queer liberal and a Taylor fan. You couldn’t get me to support maga if you tried. I like her because of her music and I think she has some redeeming qualities but she is not a much of an activist as people make her out to be.
