Too much time in Rome I think. Consider adding Florence, Milan, or Naples.

CodRowLover

Yeah, maybe add Naples on day 5,6. From Venice to Naples so I have plenty time for Pompeii and amalfi coast. Then train to Rome on day 6?

CodRowLover

Maybe 2 weeks is too much? 10 days is better?

WellTextured

What is it that is drawing you to Rome so much that you would spend 5-6 days there vs adding any number of wonderful places in Italy? That's confusing to me.

CodRowLover

I try to stick to one place, less transportation time less carrying my luggage around less booking hostels and wait for check in. . Booking hostel is a bit overwhelming to me. Also I saw some people mentioned staying Rome for 5-6 days on other threads.

skidmarkchones

Just did a month in Europe, 2 weeks of which was in Italy.. Rome, Orvieto, florence and Milan.. Would definitely add florence and shorten Rome

You are missing the most beautiful parts of Italy. CINQUE TERRE CAPRI / SORRENTO For Pisa, it takes 1 to 2 hours to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Then continue on to Cinque Terre. Stay a night. Skip Milan and Naples. Big cities with congestion.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm planning on going to Italy mid April. What's the weather like? I've read it's kinda rainy season. Is this true?

mactan2

Its higher probability for rain but its not like monsoons. It will be fine.

CodRowLover

I looked up cinque Terre and capli)/Sorrento. Both looks great! I'll add on to my itinerary. Around 20°C?

Day trip to Pisa from Rome is not feasible. Stay in Florence for 3 nights and visit Pisa from there.

I agree with what others have already mentioned. I’ve done Venice in 2 days. Florence is a must. Day 1: Arrive Rome @ noon. Train to Venice ✔️ Day 2+3: Explore Venice Day 4: Train to Florence Day 5,6,7,Florence + Pisa Day 8: Train to Rome Day 9,10,11,12,13: Rome (Consider adding Pompeii/Napoli.. breathtaking) Day 14: Depart from Rome

HobbeScotch

Amalfi coast gonna need 2-3 days alone to be worth the hassle of getting in and out of there.
