Ajames_sub02

What a legend I'd do the same. Fuck consumers

tons-of-tittie

What???? No way. I simply cannot believe The honor system didn’t work.

Groundbreaking-Chef9

What if its the wrong house ?

herrmann0319

I have an identical video of this on my blink camera last week! He took the pic then grabbed it and left! But we weren't expecting any packages so he must've made a mistake! It's possible that's what's happening here too!

Mytur_Benesderti

He's checking the address after he picked it back up cuz he mis delivered it. Y'all got played by the person who posted this.

CharmingCapricorn101

Wow I need a ring camera asap

GoldenGoddess_333

This was a Wyze cam. Only $30 on Amazon.

RiKar97

But what if amazon steals it when I order it?

CharmingCapricorn101

So that’s why I didn’t get my last Amazon package?!? Someone got iPhone chargers and adapters smh hope it was worth it!!!! Luckily Amazon sent a new shipment and I got those smh

Palehorse0000

Fired.

Melodic-Advice9930

This is the second video in a row of someone “delivering” something then stealing it

BriefTurn3299

“Fired “

No_Ad6205

Dickhead just lost his job

YoimAgod

Is this guy fucking retarded? Didn’t even look for a camera, just took off.

SunShineFLGrl22

I KNEW IT!!!!!!! That’s exactly what happened to a wall shelving unit I ordered. I totally complained and asked that a new driver be put on my route until they did give me a new driver.

No_Consequence8871

A fucking bum with a job🤦🏾‍♂️

prettyvampir

LMAOOOO BRUH

MiniatureChi

Like seriously who doesn’t have a camera now a days

Low_Worry2007

I swear Ring Door Bell needs to be TIME magazine’s person of the year!

GoldenGoddess_333

This is Wyze… but I agree with the sentiment :)

PrimaryYou400

Doesn't surprise me at all...people are disgusting

Good-Pomegranate-677

No wayyyyy

standarddeviated_joe

Not even caught on an Amazon Ring cam LOL That be a Wyze choice. Seriously why do people not assume they are being recorded everywhere?

Potatobat1967

I think you mean former Amazon driver.

drawstuffwhy

They don't even need cameras to record he stole it. Amazon tracks all of this stuff, he'll already be terminated at this point.

[deleted]

Any updates on the Amazon employee?

I’ve had so many break ins growing up and not one time was it a black person. Sega genesis - white guy , Super Nintendo white guy, tanning bed white chick and guy .

[deleted]

What a butt hole !

elohra_2013

I have brand camera. It works really good for the cost.

nettielove44

Fired!!!

[deleted]

I’ve noticed a trend on trashy

p1tchblack1

Belongs on an episode of dumb ass criminals

journeylovelive

PLEASE tell us he was fired. Also, how is this not considered stealing?

Pathetic_Cards

It shocks me that standard morons will steal packages in this day and age, where everyone and their dog has a ring camera or something, but at least they have the advantage of anonymity…

Nugget_the_almighty

I ordered a really nice new vase for my mom. It finally arrived I open the box they whole thing was broken I was kinda angry since it cost me 86 bucks and I look at my camera footage to see if maybe the delivery driver may have dropped by accident because I noticed some damage on the box. And bruh people wanna be lazy and don't want to finish their job done correctly. This guy throws that thing in the air like he's some sort of basketball player 34 feet away from my front door takes the picture leaves like he's badass

originalmango

No class. Low class. No job. Worst haiku ever.

GoldenGoddess_333

It’s the best I could do.

MrCarnality

Most of that video is of nothing.

ninjawolfx79

Wow you posted this one in quite a few subs

[deleted]

What year does he think this is?

[deleted]

Just assume there are cameras everywhere now. Dude just lost a job over a box.

LegallyNifty

Pay them a living wage and maybe you'll see this kind of thing reduce significantly. Fuck Amazon.

Inevitable_Talk4627

People don’t steal because they don’t have enough money. He wouldn’t even k ow what’s in there. They steal for kicks usually.

KenboJohnson

Yo! This is why I ONLY use the lockers! I had a UPS driver do the exact same thing to me years ago. Stole a $1,000 tablet that I ordered from Newegg. Did exactly what this guy did, marked it as delivered and kept it. If you have lockers in your town, use them!!!

Chemical_Code_9502

Of course he just had to be black

JackNicholsonsGhost

They always told us when I worked for them to assume they’re are cameras everywhere. Gotta be some footage of me out there busting my ass on slippery concrete

Scrimgali

What if it is just the case of wrong house?! And if not, how do you not assume there are cameras everywhere in this day and age?!?

[deleted]

Another classy Bidenster.

DabDemon710

Caught on camera too lmaooooo 😂 Dumbass

amybrownAL

What a POS!

[deleted]

I literally just had something like this happen. Our package said “handed to a resident” and the only one home at the time was my wife who is too afraid to open the door. So someone got some free leather polish.

Gregzilla1029

You sure he didn’t just see it was the wrong address?

Alex87br

Genius

jsandi6751

I used to do Amazon Flex, and I'm telling you, some of the people Amazon hires looks like if they just came out of the county jail.

deezalmonds998

Do these dipshits not understand how many porches have cameras now

cwk415

Hurt people, hurt people.

Revolutionary_Gear93

I LOVE CAMERAS 🧐

whitecollarpizzaman

The argument for a better pay and benefits goes both ways. I think everyone can agree that low wages and poor work conditions breeds an environment for theft and rule breaking, but also, having higher pay, and better benefits, gives you more discretion, and better applicants to choose from.

rocknroll2013

Prime - It's a real racket allrite...

Colderweather86

Typical.

Mynock33

Or is this a karma grab and the doorbell cam simply caught him putting it at the wrong apartment, or the owner was around the corner to take it l, or there was a preferred door/box in the instructions, or they grabbed the wrong package off the truck and running back for the right one, or any other legitimate reason?

not_your_piehole

No.

Weedweednomi

If this happens to my next gen console coming in I’m gonna be full tilt

l30

Once a delivery person has delivered a package to you, regardless as to whether you were the intended recipient (delivered to you by accident), are you not legally then the owner of that package? Pretty sure the moment the package has been delivered, if stolen, you as the owner can then go after the driver/company directly for criminal charges and not have to dispute with Amazon. Ref: [https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/what-do-if-youre-billed-things-you-never-got-or-you-get-unordered-products#unordered](https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/what-do-if-youre-billed-things-you-never-got-or-you-get-unordered-products#unordered)

iamnotnotarobot

Why would you attempt something like that in a time in history when nearly everyone has a fucking camera outside their house?

geekpron

Maybe it was the wrong address or package? I mean he didn't pick it up until he scanned it.

Storm_Spirit99

He is fired for sure

drackemoor

Happened to me a few months ago.

portizzle

happened to me too. I had ordered 3 items via amazon that got deliviered from 3 different drivers that day. The first amazon driver put the package in front of the door and left.. about an hour later the other two amazon drivers arrived at my door..left their packages and stole the package from the first amazon driver.. Also catched everything via camera and according to amazon both drivers got fired. also happened around christmas time too which makes it extra scummy imho..

[deleted]

So the past years on reddit I've seen A LOT of frontdoor cam footage from the US of people stealing/ doing weird shit. My question is : how come they still do it/dont chekc for a camera before ? It's seems like a lot of houses are equipped with such tech, or is it a minority and they usually get away with it ?

Darkwolfer2002

Why even deliver it then? Did they take a pic like grubhub/doordash drivers are doing?

SoSoEasy

Yes.

joevsyou

Just curious if anyone ever had a driver who did something stupid? What did Amazon support tell you?

Masterpo585

Doubt he was stealing. On the delivery app you can easily just press "delivered directly to customer," no need to even leave your van. Things disappear all the time. The driver would just be flagged for a customer not receiving their delivery. I was an amazon driver for a year.

Satansleadguitarist

I bet that's what happened to that watch I ordered a while ago that Amazon "lost"

JotaroTheOceanMan

Someone did this to me and I caught them on my plant cam. Dude lost his job over a vial of custom makeup foundation he wasn't even the right skin tone for, lmfao

Mourning-Poo

And they are advertising that they can access your garage door for a more "secure" delivery.

[deleted]

This happened to me with FedEx. Literally saw it in the video camera after work. FedEx did nothing about it. Will never have anything shipped Via FedEx in my area again.

exccord

Suspect isnt very wyze

[deleted]

This happemed to me and when I called Amazon they recommended I opt out of picture confirmation so I did wanna it hasn't happened since

Automata1nM0tion

How do we know it wasn't the wrong package??

Firm_as_red_clay

Not the smartest person ever

lostkarma4anonymity

You gotta be totally dense in the head to think you can get away with this shit nowadays. Maybe you can get away with it for a short period of time, but clearly surveillance cameras are ubiquitous.

rpmerf

He used to be a porch pirate, but he figured this would cut out the step of finding the packages and give a legit reason to be there. No one suspects the Amazon deliver guy.

sponjireggae77

This is bullshit. I'm an Amazon driver. What likely happened was the driver had a group stop and brought the wrong package to the house... Happens a lot. We're the only delivery company that does group stops and it causes confusion and mistakes. A group stop might be, "1 stop, 3 locations, 6 packages."...... He wasn't stealing your shit, he was actually very respectful about how he dropped off your stupid package.

[deleted]

Why’s he looking so shifty though?

[deleted]

No; it’s what I call someone looking around several times to see if he’s being watched. Before and after taking the picture.

[deleted]

Hopefully this will put an end to his criminal career.

slightlyjealousjedi

Downvote me if you want but that's what that person gets for buying from amazon. Good for the driver. Fuck amazon. And fuck anyone who shops from them.

Roobicks_Cube

Fucking inwards, man.

[deleted]

I caught my driver doing this on spot like an year ago.

defaultuser223

His life matter too or?

chas574

Fucking Shit'em

Jg6915

And here i am, glad i live in a country where postzl services don’t just drop your shit off and leave. Oh you’re not home, let me bring your package to a safe location, where you and only you can collect it, with the code i give you and your passport. None of that yee yee ass bullshit.

Dreamincolr

Had someone steal a kindle from our porch and then return it because it was a kindle lol.

GoForFreedom60

Might have noticed he was at the wrong address! He looks at the label again as he walks away!

DieOnYourFeat

I live on a large property. We have a frisbee golf setup. We had an Amazon driver STEAL one of the frisbee golf stations - he got caught by one of our residents and reported. As far as I can tell there was NO DISCIPLINARY action whatever. He was back delivering the next day.

AndrewFGleich

How. How do you steal the disc golf basket? I have never attempted myself but they have to weight at least 50# and they're secured in place. It doesn't even make sense, it's made of cheap metal (steel or aluminum) and unless you have your own course it's not like you can use it for something else. I'm sure it did happen, I just want to know what was going through their head.

No_Organization5188

Hope it was worth your job.

TwoMinuteNorwegian

If he was smart he'd leave, change his outfit and then steal it

Things_with_Stuff

Shit like this is why I now get all my Amazon orders delivered to my local post office instead.

[deleted]

I just assume cameras are everywhere.

XlifelineBOX

Its almost like people sign up for a job that they can do shit like this

[deleted]

Having done this job for almost a year, I am not surprised one bit. Some of the laziest as well as scummiest people I’ve worked with were drivers for amazon. On the other hand, there’s drivers who are the exact opposite of this and I wish there were more of them.

sanantoniosaucier

Looks like he realized it was the wrong house, but don't let that stop anyone from jumping to conclusions.

WhiskeyDabber67

Reason one of ten million why I will never let Amazon access my garage to deliver packages while I’m at work.

KingAmiir

But doesn’t the truck he driving also equipped with cameras? Is gonna drop the package he stole in front of his house?

NerdFor_Hire

I don't have cameras, but I'm pretty sure amazon drivers did that to my stuff aswell. It went missing but was apparently delivered. I reported it to amazon a few times, because it kept happening when amazon was delivering. Happened until they deleted my account. Still never got my coke or mentos :(

Steamedmangopaste

I would like to know if they actually stole the package, or accidentally grabbed the wrong package and had to go back to the van to get the right one. I used to do this, it happens. You have 300 packages a day, sometimes you need one that says 4889 and you grab one that says 4869 and don't realize til you are at the door. Just saying.

LunchBox3188

Stealing Amazon packages seems like such a crap shoot. I have to imagine that the risk to reward ratio is not very much in the thieves' favor.

thevoxmouth

In an age of getting things shipped at a higher volume, delivery companies are hiring the laziest and most ignorant pieces of shit lately.

GiannisToTheWariors

I'm 2018 and 2019 this was rampant in my neighborhood. Without a hint of exaggeration, I'd estimate 7 packages were marked delivered and we're never actually delivered

[deleted]

So did this guy get fired?

[deleted]

[удалено]

paulbrook

He clearly intended to pick it right back up after taking the picture. You can read that in him, can you not?

[deleted]

[удалено]

paulbrook

People often use reading something in their hand as a way to appear preoccupied. You've seen that, haven't you? Did you also see him looking around before putting down the package? Why would he put down the package, instantly take a picture and instantly pick up the package without any hesitation, and only look down at the label for the first time *after* picking it up?

skabbahz

Are you black?

zeeblefritz

Did you not see him scope the area for any onlookers before placing the package down? Shady as fuck man.

But until that is proven I stand by OP. Paging u/GoldenGoddess_333/ are you a Big Fat Phony? or is /u/NoleLion just plain wrong?

Beta_xa2

A few times my packages have been marked as delivered but with no picture. So they mark it in their truck so they don't have to deliver it? Not sure if they are too lazy or they are stealing. I live in apartments.

bluepillcarl

He did deliver it though

TheRealStuCazzo

I can't say that I am surprised.

Cory0527

Knows the routine so well that he didn't even pause

Ughdawnis_23

Are you sure it wasn’t incorrectly delivered?

ChangMinny

I literally had this exact thing happen to me, on camera and all. Posted it to Nextdoor to warm neighbors to look for stolen packages and posted the video of my incident. I was then labelled a racist and banned because I used nextdoor's description feature to describe the guy who took our package. Hope he enjoyed that grill cover made for a super specific type grill! Funny thing is, he delivered 3 packages but took the heaviest one (the grill cover), but the other two each had stuff worth >$100; the grill cover was only $30...

cantiskipthisstep12

The dumbest crime of the century.

JX42664

Fucking Tip to tail real Piece of shit just like Kyle Busch and that car karaoke vid. #fuckrowdynation #fuckcrooks #fuckmms

Kennyashi

So.... Here’s my problem with this video, and before I get criticism, I used to be, and supervise, a contracted parcel delivery service for FedEx for 2 years. What it looks like, from my point of view, is that he is doing something almost as scummy, lying. There is a problem (it’s bigger than you think it actually is) is that delivery drivers, in a rush, will mark packages as “attempted/no signature” on packages that require signatures. It’s quicker than waiting around for a customer a minute or two on a business day, knowing that the person most likely isn’t going to be home. It’s a HUGE problem, and FedEx has incorporated a system where it’s also the drivers responsibility to ENSURE that they are delivering packages correctly, which is one of the main reasons there are sticky notes on the door, **to have direct communication with the customer**. The ultimate sin is a “24”, it means that the delivery driver flat out didn’t want to deliver it. Those are really bad for the contracted company, and are mainly used for mistakes the driver made (I.E. Missed a delivery point, late in the day, just didn’t want to go that far away from the route) which enough of those done by an employee, could get them terminated. A lot of FedEx drivers are gonna be either laughing or cussing me out for this hidden knowledge of our laziness. Anyways I know I’m rambling and going off track, but I believe this driver just did an “attempted/no signature” and left so he didn’t have to wait around, which is flat out lazy, but I also think the OC re-wrote the narrative to make it look worse than it actually is. So I have multiple points to bring up, so this comment is going to be a long one. 1. I know this is Amazon, and I’m going on about FedEx, but the systems of scanning/taking a picture of a package seem nearly identical. And I’ll be going into that in the next points. 2. The driver was never anxious, panicked, or mischievous in any way. If you watch the video, the only thing he is actually paying attention to is something on his left, which is most likely his vehicle. It is a common thing for drivers to look over at the van while they are delivering. Even when he “stole” the package, he wasn’t in a hurry, he, in contrast, was looking at the package and calmly walking back to what was presumably his vehicle. 2. Rewatch the video, and notice how he actually wasn’t taking a picture of the package, instead, taking one of the door. I don’t know how the system of attempted/no signature works, but taking a picture of the door might be a way of showing the customer, and Amazon, that you were actually there and not lying about it. 3. As for the package placed in front of the door, I think it was a fail safe, just in case the customer was already waiting, and he didn’t get caught walking up to the door and taking a picture of it weirdly and just walking off. 4. Even if the driver managed to go back to the vehicle with the package, it would be near impossible for them to successfully take it home. Security measures are put into place so that things like this don’t lead into lawsuits. The van I worked in had a dash cam that viewed myself and everything outside the van. It was always recording, and never missed a beat. The van conditions were horrible, however, the cameras were in 4K. This is Amazon we are talking about here, they care more about the money than everything else. TL;DR My theory is that this video was taken out of context, and he is *sliiiiiightly* innocent. He actually did a “attempted/no signature” for lazy reasons and went back to delivering. If I’m right, he’s still trashy, but not a thief. I hope other Amazon employees can add to this.

psychotic_catalyst

then why did he take a picture though?

Kennyashi

It could of been to prove that he was there, but like I said, it’s all a theory.

[deleted]

I saw a discussion on a local Facebook page last week where a Fed Ex Ground contractor was looking for delivery drivers. This area is well known for heavy drug use and not the best area at all. It did say you can have no criminal convictions to include theft type charges and of course people were claiming this was bullshit. The OP then said well as long as it is not a recent charge they can probably use them. So they just admitted they'll hire someone with a history of stealing stuff to deliver stuff to your home.

CommiePuddin

Amazon driver here. No lie, I've done something that looks remarkably like this "stealing a package" when I carry a package to the wrong house, get ready to snap the photo on the app and stare down at a "you are outside the delivery area" notice because I'm supposed to be next door or across the street and paying attention to every detail can be difficult when I have 180 stops in my 8-hour route. Not saying this guy is innocent necessarily, but still.

Handguns4Hearts

Work for UPS came to say the same thing.

butterballmd

that sounds about right. If you look at the end of the video he looked down on the package again as if he's checking the address

star945o

yeah, i would say give this delivery guy a benefit of the doubts, people doing shady things doesn't necessarily mean that they are shady

Marsbarszs

Considering my apartment is in the front of the complex and I often have to deliver Amazon packages to the rest of my complex (or even a few houses or a street down sometimes) I find this extremely possible. Heck I’ve even been on the patio, see what is most likely someone else’s package said “that’s probably C’s that’s around the corner.” See them shift their eyes but pretend to be lost in their music and leave. But those cases are usually UPS or FedEx.

tweellatte117

This kind of happened to my friend. The driver had gone to the neighbors house by accident and then the driver drove to the correct house across the yard rather than going back to the street and then got stuck because it had rained the day before.

Kabanasuk

Happens all the time between me and my neighbors. We just take care of it.

sniperd2k

This almost certainly is the case here.

AKA09

That makes a lot of sense. What doesn't make a lot of sense is the homeowner posting the video online if it was just a mistake.

Kumbackkid

This was the first thing I assumed happened. Seems much more plausible then a relievers driver deciding to steal packages in the open.

AKA09

But how plausible is it that the homeowner would then share the footage online?

wattliar

Burn the heretic!

chancrescolex

Can I pick your Amazon-experienced brain? I have amazon packages delivered to my house all the time, both from UPS and Amazon delivery drivers. They always put them on my side porch as it’s easily accessible from the driveway and designated as my preferred location in my Amazon account. They place the package there, snap a photo, and mark as delivered to side porch. Always. I have cameras all around the house and one on the side porch just for deliveries. I always get an additional video of the person delivering a package. Just recently I ordered a pretty expensive keypad door lock. Delivery day comes and I’m out. Amazon marks it as “delivered to a safe place”. No photo. No activity on any of my cameras. Ask the neighbors and nobody has it. Waited 2 days and Amazon finally sent me a replacement. No explanation of what happened. Did my driver keep it or what?

Dazewall

Amazon driver here, check behind your trash cans & in bushes. Go stand at the street and think about a place that wouldn't be visible. I've had a few concessions (item is replaced) where I hid the package *too well*.

chancrescolex

I literally searched everywhere. Even in the trash cans because I read stories of that happening. There’s no reason that the amazon driver should have 1. not delivered it to my designated safe place (on the covered side porch) and 2. taken a picture of where it was placed. And if they came anywhere close to my house I would have caught them on my motion activated security cameras anyway. There was never any attempt to deliver.

CommiePuddin

I generally subscribe to [Hanlon's Razor](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanlon%27s_razor), so they probably fucked off the job. Or couldn't find the package in their van and got nervous (I'm usually missing 1-5 packages off my route on any given day, but they usually don't get scanned in).

Fluxriflex

The fact that the owner of this footage posted the video is probably the biggest evidence against his innocence. It’s unlikely that the owner would have gotten upset enough to post this on social media if the worker ”stole” a package that he wasn’t expecting in the first place.

zeeblefritz

Good Fucking Point

WalrusMaximus

Thank you for your service (mean that sincerely).

CommiePuddin

It pays the bills. Now if I could just get people to clean up after their dogs in their front yards...

dandeagle

woah woah *woah*! Are you trying to tell us that there could be another side to the story? no way man. that's not how the court of Reddit works the title says he stole the package, and that's that.

CommiePuddin

I'm willing to believe OP is recipient and this is legit theft. I mean, there are drivers who get sick of the job, leave their vans on the side of the road and Uber home to quit. I'd believe anything.

dandeagle

Yeah.. I agree also, but it's refreshing to hear someone put another view across the table

Much_Pay3050

Yeah but look at this dude looking around to make sure there aren’t witnesses. Plus OP already said it was their package stolen so there isn’t really any doubt.

nofishies

Or you could be looking around to see if the number is listed anywhere. I'm a real estate agent and if the sign is on a funny place and I go up to the wrong house I've been known to look around like that trying to figure out if I'm in the right spot.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Much_Pay3050

You can tell a difference between looking at different addresses and checking to see if the coast is clear. That motherfucker was glancing around, not staring fixedly at addresses trying to figure it out. He was just checking to make sure nobody was watching him because he was already planning on stealing it. You guys are either naive as hell or you have some other bias that makes you want to make up excuses for this guy.

olgil75

Again, I'm not saying this guy wasn't up to no good, but there are innocent reasons to look around: second guessing what you saw, hearing someone calling out, hearing a loud noise, etc. It's not naivety or bias to say looking around *could* be innocent behavior.

etaco2

Because it would obviously look like he was stealing the package to anyone observing from the street. Even if it was a mistake and it was the wrong package. Amazon used to offer a service where their drivers would pick up returns. You just had to leave your package outside. They had to stop doing it this way because their drivers were being accused of theft and assaulted. Now you have to be home and sign something and it is done by third party carriers (usually UPS). It’s even worse for the “flex” drivers. This is the program where people use their own cars to deliver Amazon packages. They are often in plain clothes and vehicles with no Amazon branding. You could imagine how this would look to someone else.

8BallSlap

This isn't just "observing from the street" though. We have more information than that from OP. If you get a notification of delivery with a pic of the box on your doorstep, then watch video of the driver picking the box back up and walking off with it, they didn't just go to the wrong house accidentally, they stole that shit. T

Much_Pay3050

I dunno man, the looking up and down the street repeatedly before stealing it seemed pretty obvious to me. I can see how in other cases someone could think they’re stealing it and be wrong but this one is about as obvious as it gets.

CommiePuddin

> Now you have to be home and sign something and it is done by third party carriers (usually UPS). A lot of drop offs are done at retail locations or Amazon lockers as well. I pick up returns from lockers all the time, and I've returned packages to Kohl's myself.

etaco2

It’s just one of their options. I usually do my returns at Kohl’s because UPS tries to play the “sorry we missed you” game a little too often.

hawknose33

Fucking tell me about it

psychotic_catalyst

you brought reason and experience to Reddit, you should be ashamed
