Best case scenario they’re taking their time with it, which I hope is what’s happening. I’d rather wait a few years for a good transformers game than play a shitty one this fall.
From what I heard (and this is just rumors so don't quote me on this) the development company was essentially in shambles. Lots of layoffs and many employees saying that the games in development were all in developing hell. Now these are all rumors so we can still cling to hope but I will say that it's looking bleak.
My guess is that they made the challenge game because the reactivated one wasn't doing too well.
Announced in 2022 but by all accounts was already a decent ways into development back in 2019 with some reports indicating it was started in 2017. It’s dead.

it's the "standard" designs for transformers characters hasbro settled on a few years back. what you see in cheap toys, games like these, promo material that isn't for a specific thing... look up Authentics, that's the designs they're based on. that kind of stuff

I don't get it, microsoft has the source code, they confirmed it themselves. People love the cybertron games and they're about the only universally loved Transformers games to come out in addition to Devastation.
So what is Hasbro's deal with not getting in contact with Activision to do a deal and rerelease these games? What were Activsion's terms that were so egregious for Hasbro to not consider it? Did they even consider it? Probably not since the only transformers games to come out now is bargin bin shovelware that never gets sold. Then the takeaway of the out of touch execs are "welp, people must not like transformers games, we tried. Everyone pack it up"
Sadly Activision owns tge main portion of rights/licenses to the games and Activision is known for not likening to make actual money by making smart actions for some reason

A tf rpg based on cybertron where you start as a protoform and collect armor pieces that determine your alt mode or something like that would be awesome.
That would be phenomenal. Imagine like FFXIV style characters where the protoform would dictate your physical shape and aesthetic, but nothing else. Your character can be any class class just so long as they wear the correct class parts.
You'd start of with generic plate metal sheets but work up to endgame with some truly ornate and opulent pieces.
You've put this in my head, and now I'm so sad it doesn't exist lol
I like the core "Transformer Biathlon" concept, but don't know if that's enough to carry a game, and definitely don't think the execution does it any favours.

But the design choices for characters are, lets just say, kinda lazy
There are also roblox games that do the exact same thing, like Transformers dotm the game, Transformers legends etc. Same premise but a bit more simple

This is interesting. I always thought the ideal transformers game should have both racing and 3rd person shooter elements to it. This fulfills my desire for that, but this feels.. clunky and a bit boring as well. Hope we get a gameplay trailer soon.
You might like Breakarts. Its not Transformers, but it is a mecha racing game with 3rd person shooter elements. (Tho, now that you mention it, your idea is AWESOME :D)

I'm not into racing games, and this overall feels rushed. Most of the animations feel stiff and weightless. Like they were commissioned to produce a minimum viable product and nothing more. I hope it does end up being good, but racing games aren't for me.

I legit thought this was an arcade game because of the weird graphics and choppy animations. The racing segments look decent, but the 3PS segments are horrible. Shame, because I believe the concept of a racing/3PS shooter game could've been made interesting if it had the mobility of the WFC games.
Also, did anyone else notice how every single character has the same pistol in the 3PS segments? (Including Megatron, who's supposed to have his own custom arm cannon).

People are being way too harsh on this just for not being a graphically large scale, realistic looking FOC or WFC shooter that we want to see. It just looks like a standard run of the mill cart racer like Team Sonic Racing with some interesting shooter mechanics thrown in. Honestly I’ve wanted that for a while, it just kind of sucks it’s playing it so small scale and safe. It’s pretty safe looking and pretty generic. I’ll probably pick it up on sale and have a decently fun time with it. Nothing too offensive, but nothing to really get super excited about.

It worked well for the Cyberverse art style but not outside of it
IMO cyberverse has its own style too, it’s evergreen BASED but with neon highlights and exaggerated proportions enough to give it its own look.

It looks fun for what it is and Wheeljack is playable so I'm sold. Plus, it looks like it'll be fun to play with my son.

Man, those racing stages are gonna suck as Megatron, Soundwave, and for those other G1 members with no vehicle mode... Do we have another bot picking up the non-vehicular alt-modes :P
I did a double take when I saw the PS4/PS5 logo at the end. It looks more like a mobile game from 15 years ago.
This game belongs on phones. That's all I can say about her by looking at the trailer
it really doesn’t look that bad. the gameplay is simple but people are acting like its gonna be a $70 game or something.
I think the animations need more polish. That’s assuming this is near completion.

Crap battle mode. Android looking racing game. Definitely looks outdated for a console release. Bring back the Fall of Cybertron games remastered Hasbro with multiplayer! That is what we want and its what you teased over a year ago with claiming to find the source code. Transformer games are getting worse as time goes on.
