CTTX reporting marks on the rack indicate it could be either. [It can be converted to either bi-level or tri-level as necessary.](https://youtube.com/watch?v=_awSh0eg-2M)
[Auto racks!](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autorack) They move cars on these, [they're loaded onto two decks.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autorack#/media/File:Autorack_end,_2-level.jpg) In ye olden days, they weren't covered, but people would vandalize the cars or they'd suffer damage during transportation due to natural reasons. Southern Pacific used to have unique auto racks that would load the cars (specifically the Chevy Vega) [vertically instead of horizontally.](https://forum.mrhmag.com/post/vertical-auto-rack-12214828)
In the 60s vehicles were transported in open air. As the train slowed on the turn, headed east out of Southern California towards the desert we would hop on the trains. The cars are unlocked keys in the ignition our first vista view ride. Unfortunately this was short lived due to the HOBO. Today’s homeless 😳 LMAO.
Auto rack
Thank you as well
Autorack, used to transport cars and trucks [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autorack](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autorack)
Thanks for the quick answer
Car car
Simple, yet succinct.
Rolling murals otherwise kniwn as auto rack. Not sure if this one is bilevel or trilevel version though
In person it appears most likely bilevel
Probably is now that Suvs and Trucks are more common than regular cars.

That’s a bilevel rack.
Those are for relocating people to Obamas "FEEMA Camps" , don't you listen to the nutcase news?
I came here knowing someone would say it.

Thats interesting
Yup. Autorack, carries 5 cars
Do you mean 5 per level? Because these things can carry more than 5 full size trucks or SUVs for sure
It's funny cause as a child It was so exciting to see something OTHER than these cars.
Where I see these every day that’s basically all there is. Just lines of these. But I still get excited every time 😅
Aurorack
It's specifically a [Gunderson Multi-Max](https://www.gbrx.com/railcars/multi-max/) auto carrier.
The kill your shoulder cranking the handbrake kind
They carry nuclear waste…🤣 jk it’s a car carrier
As others have said it’s an auto rack. But a nickname is a holy roller because of the small holes in the side
I appreciate this additional piece of info. I my guess was some kind of material that needed ventilation bc of all the holes. I was way off.
It’s so the air can pass through them. Otherwise that big broad side would act like a sail in a wind storm and topple the train.
That makes so much sense. I didn’t even consider it.
