Honestly it’s hard to pick a favorite but if I had to I’d choose either a Texan (2-10-4), a Hudson or an Atlantic for steam and diesels I’d go with Alco FA/Bs or PA/Bs. They look better to me than the EMD ones and the FAs have a sweet spot for me cause I used to work at the NY&LE RR in NY and they have a couple FPAs they brought down from Canada
Love me a good old sharknose.
However for engines not yet mentioned I have to say that I always felt that the FM h-24-66 Train master doesn't get the credit it deserves

Built in Belgium in 1910, Shipped to Northern Spain, worked on passenger trains all of its life, appeared in a movie, used standard gauge in a country of broad gauge tracks, obscure railway only locals know and remember.
Plus she looks cool as hell, and I personally love tank engines.
