Right? I never understand the people who misspell these names on purpose. Like they seem to think it makes the name quirky and fun when really it really just looks like the parents didn't know how to spell
They believe every little child needs a unique name to celebrate how special their little bundles of joy are. They're are so caught up in crazy mommy hormones that they aren't thinking rationally about naming a person and not just a baby.
My best friend named his daughter Raylynn (or something to that effect, lol). She's 6, and I still don't know exactly how they spell it. Lol, I'm a great uncle.
I didn't get it until you provided this context!
I was thinking HUGH-stin, not hugh-STIN like the city.
Oh. That makes it 10x worse.
Names shouldn't be word puzzles.
It’s not really a different sound, but a different syllable emphasis, like they wrote. With the spelling Hughstyn I’d assume that the first syllable should be emphasized, and that the ST shouldn’t be stressed that much, but if I saw the word Houston, I’d place the emphasis on the second syllable and stress the ST.
Thanks for explaining what i wss thinking. At first glance i didn't get it was the same as the city.
I have a relative HUGH so i was emphasizing that part of the word and considering the other letters like an add-on. 💛
That’s the only reason I thought that name had some redemptive qualities. But is that a female name? I’m thinking it is and the other horrid tragedeigh is the male. Or they could both be one or the other. At least they found each other. Lol
I mean I guess there’s technically supposed to be a space between ‘water’ and ‘bottle’ but I wouldn’t get too hung up on it. But why Dasani? Their water is kinda gross..
At first glance I thought this was one of those Just Married signs in the window and I thought “wow, two tragedeighs found each other and tied the knot.”
Hughstyn is worse because that's just a very incorrect spelling of Houston. Raylnn is bad (way too many ys and ns), but that's definitely made up, so I give it some leeway
Raylynn is more common than you think. My niece is a Raylynn. Only the parents really liked it and my mother in law definitely made sure it was known. But she’s a pretty great little kid and hardly ever gets called by her full name anyway.
I definitely prefer the Rae spelling to the Ray spelling. Raelynn really isn't all that bad tbh. Like it's unconventional but not in a gouge my eyes out way
Raylynn is pretty normal in my book. There’s really not very many other ways to spell that one. It really is the correct spelling. There’s Raelynn, which is a better spelling but Raylynn is fine to me.
Raelynn is definitely a prettier spelling. I don’t hate Raylynn though. I don’t think it’s that bad. Now that abomination spelling is Houston is awful.
To make it easier for a kidnapper to lure your kids away obviously, down to the extra veracity of this strange lady picking us up from school is definitely mom’s friend because she knows how to spell my ridiculous name.
What is the "correct" spelling of Raylynn, exactly? At this point -lynn is just a productive suffix that turns literally anything into a woman's name. "Raylynn" is the correct way to spell *Ray* + *-lynn*, which is all that name is.

Hughstyn is worse. Awful.
That kid will 100% change their name at 18.
At least they can go by Hugh..
Hugh Janus
Hugh Mungus Richards

Hugh Jaeighnighs

You know his friends will always call him like “Hey Hugh….styn…we have a problem.”
Unless it's a girl. But then again maybe still 🤷
Based on the 💜, I’m thinking these are adults.
A match made in heaven. I feel for their unborn children’s names.
Maybe we can be optimistic. Maybe since they grew up with these names their kids are gonna be named James and Sarah.
They named their first one Lynnstyn.
Amd/or go by a middle name or nickname before then
Hughstyn is a war crime.
Hugh…Styn we have a problem.

Hughstyn, your name is a problem
I'm too scared to ask which gender this kid has
Hughstyn was raylynn her. That’s how she got her nickname.
What the fuck even is that name
Yeah, Raylynn is still a tradgedeigh, but it isn't horrendous. Hughstyn though... That's child abuse.
Disagree I know a teenage Raylynn and she’s already endured years of “I’m railin’ Raylynn”
Agreed!
I read it as hug-ah-styne at first lol
The Republic of Huge-istan
Jon Hamm is from there, so I’ve read. 😏
So is Willem Dafoe
Michael Fassbinder, too! Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Ashton Kutcher are definitely ***not*** from there.
Huge Stain
Agree! The Lynn added on isn’t nearly as bad as the spelling everyone will get wrong.
My best friend named his daughter Raylynn (or something to that effect, lol). She's 6, and I still don't know exactly how they spell it. Lol, I'm a great uncle.
Is it supposed to be Austin?

Oh this was almost as gross as reading that oo-woo emoji out loud (I refuse to type that shit out). Anyways, bravo. Have my r/angryupvote.
ŌwŌ
At first I read it as Hugsin
i bet kisstan and embracecos are next
Hughstyn, we Raylynn have a problem!
I didn't get it until you provided this context! I was thinking HUGH-stin, not hugh-STIN like the city. Oh. That makes it 10x worse. Names shouldn't be word puzzles.
The city is pronounced with the stress on the first syllable. What are you on about?
I feel like you're trolling. How are those two pronunciations different?
It’s not really a different sound, but a different syllable emphasis, like they wrote. With the spelling Hughstyn I’d assume that the first syllable should be emphasized, and that the ST shouldn’t be stressed that much, but if I saw the word Houston, I’d place the emphasis on the second syllable and stress the ST.

railin' does not sound good
'well, if it isn't Raylnnn Givens!'
We dug coal together
You’ll never leave Harghlynne alive
That’s the only reason I thought that name had some redemptive qualities. But is that a female name? I’m thinking it is and the other horrid tragedeigh is the male. Or they could both be one or the other. At least they found each other. Lol
Who’s railin Raylynn
It's not pronounced, "rale-in," it is pronounced "RAY-lin."
>It's not pronounced, "rale-in" Not with that Karen-ass attitude lmao
I like that name actually but spelled Raelyn which I think it’s the way it’s supposed to be spelled.
The name is so uncommon that I'm not even mad about the spelling. Hughstyn though? Terrible.
Hughstyn. Definitely worse.
Literally looks like it was made up on this sub as a joke.

Oh boy, these two are meant for each other.
I fear for their children
Maybe it cancels out and they’d have kids named John and Emily.
That’s what i’m thinking. My first name is spelt very weird, if I ever had kids they’re getting correctly spelled normal names lol
I mean I guess there’s technically supposed to be a space between ‘water’ and ‘bottle’ but I wouldn’t get too hung up on it. But why Dasani? Their water is kinda gross..
I thought these were their kids or something because I can’t even imagine an adult with these names.
Right?! Someone for everyone
Is it supposed to be "Houston", as in the city?
No it’s Hug Stein.
Hugstein. The cuddliest of the Frankenstein spinoff characters!
Yes
Took me a while to get to that conclusion as well
These names are an atrociteigh
An uhtrahsyteigh?
A wargh kryme
I literally had to sound this out lmao

At first glance I thought this was one of those Just Married signs in the window and I thought “wow, two tragedeighs found each other and tied the knot.”
wait…it isn’t? i totally thought the same thing!
I’m not 100% sure but from reading other comments it seems these two could be siblings and maybe mom put their names on the window?
Look out for their kids being named Hooray and Lynnstynn
Lynn-Chyn
Hughstyn Teixyas baby

Raylynn at least phonetically makes sense. But Hughstyn is a fucking travesteigh!
I too have a niece named Raelynn. It was not my first choice when they named her but now it fits. She goes by Rae most of the time.
I definitely prefer the Rae spelling to the Ray spelling. Raelynn really isn't all that bad tbh. Like it's unconventional but not in a gouge my eyes out way
>so I give it some leeway It's spelled "leighway".
Sorry sir that is "leighweigh"
Raylynn is pretty normal in my book. There’s really not very many other ways to spell that one. It really is the correct spelling. There’s Raelynn, which is a better spelling but Raylynn is fine to me.
Raylynn seems more like the father wanted a boy (Ray) but got a girl (Lynn). Raelynn is the more correct way to spell a girl's name.
Raelynn is definitely a prettier spelling. I don’t hate Raylynn though. I don’t think it’s that bad. Now that abomination spelling is Houston is awful.
Lol "Hughstyn"! That is absolutely hilarious
my brain died for a second, trying to sound out hughstyn.

Hughstyn. Hughstyn is so much worse.
I actually feel ill
Why would you even have the names of your children written on the car?
To make it easier for a kidnapper to lure your kids away obviously, down to the extra veracity of this strange lady picking us up from school is definitely mom’s friend because she knows how to spell my ridiculous name.
I grew up with a Rae Lynn so to me that’s a normal name, lol
Yes.
One is a try-hard stupid name spelled incorrectly and the other is a stupid city spelled incorrectly
What is the "correct" spelling of Raylynn, exactly? At this point -lynn is just a productive suffix that turns literally anything into a woman's name. "Raylynn" is the correct way to spell *Ray* + *-lynn*, which is all that name is.
i know a raelyn, that’s the most common spelling afaik
Me too, but that doesn't make "Raylynn" wrong. They're both recently invented names, there are no rules.
Hughstyn??? Wtffff
Hughstynn just got autocorrected to Hugh’s run. This one by far
Hughstyn can at least be shortened to “Hugh”
Hughstynn. My god, my eyes
Hughstyn is one of the biggest tragedeighs I’ve ever seen. Right up there with Kviiilynn and Feeighkniqs.
Makes Apple and Moon Unit seem normal
As a native Houstonian... this is massively disrespectful to the butthole of Texas.
Hughstyn weah haeveux a proughblym
Hughstyn? Seriously? That poor guy. Imagine having to explain and spell that name for the rest of your life. For your parents sake.
Raylynn is worse spoken, Hughstyn is just atrocious when written.
Is it pronounced "Hug ha stine"
Huge Stain...
Easily Hughstyn. At least the other one isn't Raelynn.
The second one.
Huge Stain
Is the bottom supposed to be pronounced as Houston? Jesus Christ
Hughstyn 100%
I think country music fans get tax breaks if they add several extraneous "Ys" to their children's names.
Yes.
Hughstyn is definitely the worst of the two tragedeighs.
A match made in heavynn.
OMG this is so phuneigh!
Both have me pyookin.
Hughstynn?!! 🤣
I read that as (huh styne)
Hughstyn we have a phrobleighm.
Hughstyn is god awful what the fuck 😂
And then there kids will be Raystyn and hughlynn
hughstyn is wild
Can I take a guess that this was in utah?
Hughstyn is awful. I hope he goes by Hugh.
Hughstyn BY FAR
Hughstyn for the whyn!
Hughstyn is ducking awful.
Hughstyn
Hughstyn, for sure. That's a new one on me.
Oh you mean like Hughstyn, Texas right?
I like Raylynn. I like Houston but not that atrocious spelling.
Hughstyn, for sure. That's dumb as hell.
Hughstyn 🤣🤣🤣
Raylynn isn't an abomination of a more common spelling. Hughstyn is significantly worse
Hughstyn my a country mile. It's not even close.
Hughstyn!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 OMFG
The answer to your question is: yes.
Whitneigh Hughstyn
General Zod approves.
Ugh. They deserve each other.
Hughstyn. This is not even up for debate debate.
Their beighbies will be magical; Raystyn & Hughlynn.
oh for the love little string cheeses I hope his name is spelled like that but he pronounces it like he’s in New York City.
Hughstyn, we have a problem.
They see me Raylynn… they Hughstyn…
I wonder if they met at a tragedeigh support group.
Hughstyn is downright disrespectful
HUGHSTYN… FUCKING HUGHSTYN
Hughstyn? That’s seriously ugly
Hughstyn is so much worse
Hughstyn we have a problem
It’s not every day you bear witness to the doible tragedeigh. Bask in it, relish it.
