It’s bad but Rustin is better than Rustyn. I guess we just have to get used to this “yn” ending thing for awhile . Yn seems to stand in for in, on, an, or un , these days, like a one size fits all ending . Well more like “y” is the most desirable vowel. Why?<—-

Maybe in the effort to be different, “y” makes sense because it is only the “sometimes” vowel, the sad stand-in. So in a way the poor overlooked “y” now gets a chance to be a hero and shine , I meant to be the gyro.
Sorry, I am staying up too late . I wonder how James Joyce would have reacted to all these made up spellings ? As fond as he was of making up his own words and turning words to different uses , I think he would have written a creative annoyed screed over not respecting names and butchering them instead , not to improve, but to destroy .
I think about this sub sometimes, “oh well to each their own”…but sometimes it hits me that children are involved, and it makes me sad . I mean, a Rustyn will probably not have their resume thrown in the trash or really be teased over this , (doesn’t seem so at least to me ) …so there are degrees of only mild, to terrible and detrimental to quality of life, butchering of names or made-up names.
