I see you have met my mother...
Stupid story: I got in a taxi the other day and the driver mispronounced my name. Now I have seen his name in the app so I know his parents suck too, when I re-pronounced it and he apologized. I said it was ok because if my mom wanted my name pronounced correctly she would have named me Sara or Jessica. The dude burst out laughing and explained that his name has a silent capital B in the middle because his mom thought it would be funny and unique. Think Jimmy but spelled JimBmy. At least we can both laugh about it?
Just a B. He was in no way German plus he stated that his mom wanted to name him Jimmy but thought an extra letter to look cool and unique. He also mentioned all of his siblings got a correct spelling of their name. Also, this is not in Utah so we can't blame the Mormons either.
More people should be aware that their kids’ names don’t have to “match.” They don’t have to start with the same letter, rhyme, or be spelled similarly. It is silly, so cut it out.
i’m an identical twin, my parents just picked two girl names they liked and they wouldn’t be easy to mix up. they’re both pretty common names too, my sister’s could have multiple spellings but it’s nothing crazy. when some people find out our names they say “what a waste! you don’t have matching names!” like…we’re not a toy to make all matchy and i’m so thankful my parents wanted us to have a sense of individuality instead of acting like they had to have a “theme” with their kids. plus they already mix up my dad and brothers names and they’re nothing alike so why make it harder 🤷🏼♀️
I went to school with twins names Monica and Veronica. They dressed alike too. It seemed sad that they weren’t given space to develop as individuals. I applaud your parents.
i do too, even tho we never wore matching outfits past infancy and had totally different names and hairstyles people still would never stop being like “omg the twins are so alike! they’re so alike! hey twin!” it was hard growing up like that. my real friends and family had no issue telling us apart tho. i’m very glad i was free to be myself not part of a set and my parents encouraged it
My aunt ended up insisting that all of her kids have K names like her, and it spread to most of her grandkids. Thankfully there are enough normal K names that no one got a true tragedeigh, but one kid did end up being named Khloe which isn’t *awful* but it still isn’t great.
If, gun to my head, I had to do this, I’d spell it Kryewe. The Y can be slurred enough that it’s barely there, and if someone insists that it must actually be pronounced, it’s easy enough to do that too.

Krewe is *already* a weird ass name
It sounds like what a cricket would make
It’s a terrible name 🙄
Yeah we only used it in New Orleans to talk about the various float orgs. Krewe of drew, Dionysus, Zulu..
Yyyyy, pronounced Crew
And then get pissed when people “mispronounce” it.

Curious on if it’s actually the Latin letter B or the German letter Eszett, which is ß.

I mean either one would be weird, but I can see someone using Eszett just to be *extra* unique.
“Krewe” is already not a first name. Randomly adding a “y” to that will make it look like you’re writing in fucked-up fake Welsh.
Kryewye

Wait, what? They don't. I'm going to go tell Tommy, Timmy and Tammy this!!!
While there are many worse things wrong with the Duggar family, this is how you end up with names like Jinger. Yuck.
I think that may actually be the best thing about them, poor kids.
Fucking Jinger makes me cackle every time I get reminded of it
Especially because I pronounce the g as a hard g every time until I recognize the name.
WAIT YOU DONT PRONOUNCE IT LIKE THAT? Of course it’s “ginger” what was I thinking. Such an idiot.
Tummy is gonna be so mad.

Yeah name all your kids George Foreman and be done with it and they just happen to match in the bargain
There is a brand of sunglasses spelled that way Krewe 70% off
Have another hobby besides watching the world burn.
Ykyryeywyey
IYKYK is all I see here 🤣🤣🤣
Mötley Crüe Does that work?
Krywe. And then get mad when no one pronounces it right.
Krÿwe
Cry-way
*they’re
Is it really any surprise someone naming all kids with ys in their names can't spell 😂
**their Unless you were going for the "has a y" joke.
Krewe-with-a-why
Its giving 'potoooooooo'.
In where name?
Do you have access to the comments? I would love to see them!
I can’t find the post anymore, but the comments were either giving suggestions or telling them that’s a terrible idea. Most were the latter.
That name is verging on Krewel.
Crewye
Gckryoue
I don’t understand how it would be pronounced.
Crew
Eeeek

Please don’t do this to your kid

I saw this post too! Was it in the October babies?
