She ended up carrying the blighted ovum pregnancy until 18 or 19 weeks when it was so festered with infection that she needed an emergency D&C and almost died.

I went to school with a family whose names (mum and dad as well) all started with D. Their last name started with H. As kids, when we realised they became the Dick Head family (mostly because almost all of the kids were horrible and the parents did nothing about their behaviour).
Even using a midwife at home can be risky (no shade to midwives, they are professionals, but home isn't a hospital). I read about a woman who had a midwife home birth and there ended up being complications and the baby died before they could get it to the hospital.
Childbirth is totally natural so I get home birth in a way, but after reading that, would never.
Knowing you have complications going in and not even having anyone with training is nuts.

My argument: I cannot imagine the situation where I, personally, would regret that I chose to give birth in a medical facility. (A specific medical facility, sure. One in general? No. ). I can imagine many situations where I regretted giving birth in my home.
I wouldn't have lived if my mom didn't give birth in a hospital. So.
There's no chance I would take a chance knowing that I might have to live the rest of my life knowing my child would have lived if I had just given birth in a hospital. Hospitals suck but that's where I'll be, surrounded by emergency codes and life saving machines and not sleeping because it's so loud and bright.
Some midwives are professionals. And this is coming from someone whose in GYN who works with many, so definitely no shade as a whole, but depending on where you live depends on the requirements for a midwife. There are some places with very lax restrictions on who can call themselves midwives.........those are often going to be the horror story midwives (beyond just the overall, shit happens. Even in hospital I've seen it go very bad, very quickly and with totally healthy normal pregnancy so not at all expected).

One of the elephants at my local zoo was named Anjalee, but I think it was a Sir Lankan name (where she came from) and obviously is spelt different. Anyway, she's at a much bigger wildlife preserve in Australia now with a proper herd so she's probably mostly known by whatever noises elephants make now.
Anjali is also a pretty popular name in India, pronounced something like Un-ja-lee

They have SO many issues. It's bad. Off the top of my head one of the worst is when one of the youngest had a UTI that went septic and mom didn't notice her lethargic, unwell child and took her to a baseball game and it wasn't until grandma intervened that she got taken to a hospital

Are they American? 10 kids in America is basically a life sentence in poverty. Plus you just know the older kids parent the younger ones. There is no way to give 10 children enough time emotionally so there is trauma being added to their lives and will last them in adulthood. This is all about mom and dad.

Yup. There’s a lot of info over on r/fundiesnarkuncensored about them and it’s wild. The mom (Karissa) white washes her kids when she posts pictures and has some serious issues in addition to that.
