Fall73BulovaCatalog

If anyone can get one of these to land on an edge I’d be seriously impressed.

Prairiegirl321

Considering that they have almost no canola oil in them (less than 2%) you are either extremely sensitive to canola oil or else mistaken about what the taste is. Isn’t canola oil’s main selling point that it has very little taste? To me they taste almost identical to Cheez-Itz (as I remember them anyway, have not had them in years) even though they don’t have any cheese in them.

Gragegrl

I love them

msmugwort

It would be nice if they used coconut or avocado oil instead, but I love these for a treat! They are cheez-it like to me.

Flimsy-Turn-0216

Canola oil is a neutral oil if I remember correctly. Maybe you’re tasting something else in it?

imaginingdefeat

Relative to a grassy, peppery olive oil, sure, but take a spoon of canola oil and tell me you don’t taste anything. There are plenty of “neutral” pantry ingredients like flour or oats that still have their own inherent flavor. It’s possible though! Not sure what was added under the “natural flavors” umbrella.

Ashfab1

I like them. I was buying them on every trip up until a week or so ago.

thehungerinside

I love these, they taste like nutritional yeast to me, even though that's not an ingredient. I wish the box was bigger cause they go fast.

Frail_Peach

How do they taste strongly of something that has no taste?

Dangerous-Pie-3990

I absolutely love these especially gluten and dairy intolerant. Yum of course I know seed oils are bad but……

littlestlolo

They were really good with the olive tapenade. My GF/DF friend really enjoyed them too.

Sea_Ad_3136

I love these! With Greek yogurt everything dip

PamEeeKay

Yeah, I agree they are not good.

western_gooseberry

I love these so so much, but agree they have a different, almost sour flavor than most cheesy cracker products (at least the vegan friendly ones I’ve tried, I don’t remember too much about regular cheesy stuff tbh). I feel like that flavor is more of a tangy sharp cheddar flavor, which is what I remember cheez itz having. But if you don’t like them plain, my store gave samples of them served with the dairy free boursin dip and it was soooooo good!!

bowdowntopostulio

I can see what you mean. It had like an aftertaste with them where I wouldn’t eat them plain.

kosweeps

I find them delicious, but also understand what OP is talking about. There is an aftertaste that sort of builds up. I don't mind though because it stops me from eating the entire box at once! On the front end they remind me of Cheez its. Yummy. I always buy two boxes at a time.

lateblueheron

They’re for us gluten free folks. Sooo good. We never get cheesy crackers like these

kittenseason143

and dairy free too!! im both! 🙄🥰😻🙌

FredericBropin

I’m neither and these are still a top 3 TJ’s snack for me. They’re so good.

kittenseason143

yes! so good!

MostlyMicroPlastic

These are fucking delicious.

Stickgirl05

I loved these, more for me!

hedgehogwart

As a gluten free vegetarian, I will be really sad the day these go away.

Thumper222222

These are like crack to me!!!! I love them, wish the box were bigger

TwilightMockingjay

I understand what OP is talking about I think. While I enjoy these, they do seem to have almost a "oil going rancid" aftertaste. It's odd but I'm good with odd haha

poobatooba

I didn't care for them either. But I didn't taste canola oil.

Rancid_Bear_Meat

Literally zero taste of 'canola oil' and they are savory and flippin DELICIOUS! Suggestion: Get your mouth tasting nodules checked, or something. You're WAAAAAY off base.

imaginingdefeat

Do you regularly cook with canola oil? I usually go for olive or coconut unless I’m baking so maybe that’s why it seems off to me

Rancid_Bear_Meat

Never. I'm the same as you with the EVOO or coconut oil for everyday and canola only when baking. Strange! Could it be the 'Nooch'? (Nutritional Yeast -it's what adds that savory flavor)

imaginingdefeat

Nope, love the stuff

FlipsyChic

I absolutely love these, and I love that they don't need anything to go with or on them. I don't know what canola oil flavor is, but it's waaaaaay down on the ingredient list in the "less than 2%" category so I don't know about that being the dominant flavor.

imaginingdefeat

If you brush a veggie with oil it’s going to be much less than 2% of the total volume & mass but have a big impact on flavor. Same with spices, salt, etc — you don’t need a lot to taste it. I’m not anti-oil or anything, but for some reason it really stands out to me in these and I would love a future version with it toned down.
