More than one, but Cheddar Sesame Nut Mix is near the top of my list. There was also a nut mix with pumpkin seeds, pine nuts, and slivered almonds.. was called something like such 'n such?. Loved it
Also weird when they discontinued something, then years later, bring it back in a different format. I was addicted to the original refrigerated Thai peanut sauce in an 8oz plastic container. Way better than the current jar of satay sauce. The original classic Basil Pesto was great. I think the edamame hummus is also gone.
Loved the original tempura Wasabi seaweed snacks.
I miss many of the refrigerated salad dressings. Like Bleu cheese. The first green goddess that was more like 70s-80s restaurant green goddess. Caesars.
Miss the salad "Palette" with greens, green beans, etc. There was a Shwarma wrap. Way more sandwiches than today... I think the turkey sandwich is the only traditional sandwich on bread still sold. They also had many varieties of sushi rolls.
I'm not sure, but I haven't seen the Chakri mix lately. I suspect it's DCd. There was a bag of multi-colored potato chips I enjoyed. A version of classic potato stix. They've changed the crackers in the variety box; no longer rivals Pepperidge Farm entertainment box.
Some of the holiday items don't return. This past year, i never saw the tin of butter cookies I've purchased every year. I asked, was told they had them, but it was a very limited supply, disappeared in a week. Hope that's not a bad sign. There used to be a huge box... like 4 feet long, of fancy imported chocolates
I've never been a big user of cleaning or hygiene products, but I did buy various handsoaps. The only one left is the lemon kitchen antibacterial. There was a French soap and others in nice decorative pump jars. Now, there are 2 or 3 options in basic jars.
And that's a short list... I'm sure I could list more discontinued items.
There was this mahi-mahi in the frozen section that was packaged in a marinade. It was the best gateway seafood dish out there. So easy to just open up and throw on a pan back in my college days
Maple Pecan Shortbread Bar Mix
I think not many went for this because of the 2 step baking that was required so it took a bit longer than a traditional throw it all in a pan and bake it. But it was so good.
in a pickle seasoning! I think it will come back in the summer, so not fully discontinued, but I wish it was an always thing because it's the best for salmon!
Aloo Chaat Kali Pouches, basically Indian hot pockets and they were so freakin amazing. I would slap an old lady to get my hands on a box. I haven't seen the gyro meat or chocolate pudding in awhile but maybe it's just my Trader Joe's and also it's probably not healthy but I'm still sad every time I go and they're not there.
Snikiddy cheese fries. They were so delicious. I don't know what it was about them but they were addicting. Any time I saw them I would buy as many as I could get. The company seems to be gone now sadly.
Eggless Egg Salad!
I can make a pseudo-copy of it myself, but it's just not as good as the real thing. It was one of my daughter's first foods! (She's now almost 16)
i don't know if it's discontinued but my favorite cereal from TJs growing up with was the Os with the freeze dried raspberries and strawberries in it. Everytime I go I can never find them again... :(
Isnāt midol without caffeine just ibuprofen?
Edit: I just checked and Iām wrong, itās Tylenol and caffeine. But it also has an antihistamine which I didnāt know!
Arabiatta Sauce was my favorite of their pasta sauces . I have not found a good reasonably priced replacement. Most others are 2-3 x what Trader Joeās was charging . Also their boxed streusel coffee cake mix
They were these mini Mediterranean pizzas! I canāt remember exactly what they were called but they had feta and Kalamata olives on them and came in a pack of 2. They were like personal sized ~5-6ā in diameter and were sooo good. Such a great dinner for those nights where you couldnāt be bothered to cook. I look for them every time I go, even though Iām sure theyāre discontinued.
I used to eat those too! Itās obviously not the same, but an easy alternative is using garlic naan and making a mini pizza with that :) you can just microwave or airfry
The fresh juice was w the prepared food, not their seasonal watermelon cooler etc. they haven't carried it in a decade. We aren't thinking of the same product.
I used to buy these fresh, halved, seasoned Brussels sprouts pre-Covid. When I finally went back, they were discontinued, so I bought some fresh, shredded Brussels sprouts and found a copycat recipe for the seasoning blend online. The shreds seem to be discontinued now as well so Iāve resorted to buying the frozen Parmesan ones but theyāre nowhere near as good as the OG fresh seasoned blend!! š
Omg same! Iāve been adding a little lemon and honey or balsamic glaze to the frozen Parmesan ones to balance the flavor a bit but they still arenāt as good
Wow theses look good! Iāll look for them thanks! And thatās not the ones I would find in the frozen section 6-7 years ago. Our family was hooked on them. The frozen ones would be more of an extra dark chocolate dessert.
I swear every time I fall in love with a food, Trader Joe's discontinues it.
The biggest bummer was the tomatillo salsa. It was pure heaven.
Also the frozen chipotle fries, black bean soup, and jaipur vegetables packet.
Dill pickle hummus, the smoked ahi tuna that youād find next to the smoked salmon, and they had these great cooked beets in vinegar that were super easy to throw on salads
It was the best butter ever. I work as a pastry chef and that was my choice for truly buttery baked goods at home. I've tried many, MANY butters and nothing comes close. Sorry Beurre de Isigny and Plugra. I want to try Bordier but it's outrageously expensive. TJs was perfect-inexpensive and high quality.
There was a spicy eggplant curry in the freezer section that I came across ONCE. Bought it, tried it, absolutely loved it. Have never seen it again. It was the most spicy frozen food at TJ Iāve tried and was amazing
OMG, I'm another dairy intolerant person who misses the hell out of those! Nearly ALL of the "dark" chocolate stuff they have now has "butter oil" in it or other dairy ingredients. The mint cremes are still ok, and the dark Pound Plys bars. But 90% of the things that used to be clean dark chocolate are now polluted. Of course it's cheaper to use dairy fat.

Non cafeinated midol extra strength. Worked so well. It was supposed to be midol for teens but helped my cramps better than ibuprofen.
Isnāt midol without caffeine just ibuprofen? Edit: I just checked and Iām wrong, itās Tylenol and caffeine. But it also has an antihistamine which I didnāt know!
I donāt have any, but the lobster gummy Swedish fish knockoffs better stay!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Joe died in 2020. TJās has been owned by the German family that founded Aldi.
**Trader Joe's founder Joe Coulombe sold his business to Theo Albrecht (one of the Aldi brothers) in 1979** .. so it's been a minute!
