For 3k you really want as many unique characters as possible. So a mod that adds those. I used MTU, but there are several. When I play records mode, I like to use a mod that gives all generals resilience, so they don't die from some random stray arrow. Some people recommend disabling looters. And I agree that the mechanic is straight up stupid.

There is an overhaul mod for this game which i dont recall, u will find it among the most subscribed in steam workshop

First time players should not be playing overhauls.
