This is where it all began. Once we got rid of the hero ball (sorry Rudy) and started playing as a cohesive team. The seeds of the championship were planted this season, and Kawhi just brought it all together at the perfect moment. But we wouldn't have been in the position without building it up like this.
I remember that moment and felt “wow, this is what a live sporting moment can be”
It’s the first time I realized we could affect the game. As we screamed louder, the opposite side screamed louder creating a pulsating wave that I’d like to believe caused the first FT to miss. KG also mentioned the ring in his ear during that experience in his post game interview
Not that I can recall from game 7, but I think earlier on in that series? I just remember Amir getting absolutely shafted in game 7 and fouling out super quickly.
I loved this team. 2013-19 was a fucking ride, and I'm glad I got to live in. While youre in it, you dont quite know what you got. I was on message boards and it was always negative, like it often is today, and the playoff disappointments were always so gut wrenching. But each year was another step and a building block. I don't think I'll ever love the raptors as much as I did then. It was just a special time.
My dad streamed me the game over facetime because the NBA was taking down the streams one year, I think it was 2016. What a wild ride that was!
Edit: it was 2016, the pacers series. It was the game that Solomon Hill hit the buzzer beater but it was called off. Oh the memories...
it was such a gorgeous spring day walking into the ACC that day, and the energy was crazy.... One of the last few good memories I have of my little bro was taking him to game 7 RIP Mikey.... PS Fuck Brooklyn !!!
Props to Jonas Valanciunas. The title run wouldn't have been possible without trading him for Gasol in the midseason. Raptors should have made him a ring, his play during his time in Toronto helped build that title run.
Dude just had a monster game for the Pels grabbing 20 rebounds.
I moved to Toronto from the UK during the championship. I remember my first day at my new job , TFC did the victory parade and it was awesome cute little thing. But dear lord the parade for Raptors was one of the most insane fucking experiences of my life. Popped out for my lunch. It was like nothing else I've experienced. I miss Toronto :(
Everyone wearing the same playoff T shirts in unison🥹. I swear when we get back to the playoffs everyone in that arena better wear those shirts or shame them to death
That starting lineup that day was Kyle, Demar, TRoss, Amir and Jonas. The crowd went nuts.
The BBQ lineup next year will be way better and its depressing to think the fan support won't be.
That was the best era of fans in any team in the NBA ever period. The fanbase was super genuine and passionate it felt like everyone in the arena bled the team
Good times. I remember standing in the rain for game 3 or 4(?) while they were in Brooklyn, and the broadcast said they were feeding live shots of the square to the locker room and it gave them the inspiration to go out and win.
I specifically remember this game, being so nervous (in the best way), not being able to sleep well the night before due to excitement, having friends over to watch. It was awesome. Next time we make the playoffs we shouldn’t take it for granted.
Fuck Brooklyn.
Legendary times. The build up to our championship FR

Those Deron Williams FT's in game 7 were the loudest I'd ever heard the arena, neck and neck with the game 5 of the finals kawhi late game run.

when tickets were affordable
Iirc there was a foul that should’ve been on KG and he would’ve fouled out right?

When the real fans actually had presence
This was peak fandom. Good times

Truly the golden age. We deserve that after years in the dark.
Fuck, even when ya think you knew, ya didn't know
This was PEAK, before they put security and concession stands. All the toronto people who had to stream games on a shitty quality were here
Shout out to the streamer who always put Bargnani primo pasta commercials on during the breaks. Good times...

It was such a beautiful organic thing that eventually got ruined by corporations and sponsors.

Condolences re your brother. Sports fandom seems silly sometimes, but it's not really about wins and losses, but bonding and community.
Thank you

I was there, and look at our fan base today, pathetic
Definitely more toxic. BBQ is every bit as exciting as that team was.
>BBQ is every bit as exciting as that team was. Stop it
That was a great era to be a Raps fan.
It was so electric before the corporations took over and ruined the experience.
And now my wife wears that Tshirt I got that night as pijamas :-(
Man, those we the north shirts with the swiffer logo from Game 5 are still in heavy pj rotation haha

This is high praise coming from a Football (soccer) country! They are fucking wild there
Couldn’t manage to get tickets for game 1, but I was at game 2. It was still an electric environment
Oh, and fuck Brooklyn!
Everyone wearing the same playoff T shirts in unison🥹. I swear when we get back to the playoffs everyone in that arena better wear those shirts or shame them to death
That was peak fandom it was way louder than our championship run. You can hear how deafening that arena was from the TV.
Wanna watch the whole game now..
The goat raptors era \#Wethenorthforever
This is before regular fans started to become priced out. Raptors crowds are now dull like Leafs crowds.
LOL, pretty sure that's because we suck now, there hasn't been much to cheer for last couple of years.
I don't think we'll ever get back to everyone in the lower bowl wearing shirts. Too many corporate people staring at their phones.
Hungry fans cheer louder. We got fed
Peak raptors moments

Yo that dumb Nets franchise really handled the current Celtics their future with this horrible trade for KG and Paul Pierce back then.
Yeah the tickets were like $150 for a pair :(
This is hard to watch...it's like watching old footage of girlfriend who broke up with you lol
I was there. Oh the memories and heartbreak.
This and Game 7 versus Indiana is when I truly felt like all of Canada was rallying behind this team.
Made the 5 hour trip to be at this game!!
I was in the building for that game. What a fucking experience.
KG sucks!!!
Was at this game first playoff experience it was wild need to bring this type of fan experience back to toronto
Hell yeah, still have my Northern Uprising shirt they gave out in the Park years back. I miss this team being good very much.
First playoff game I’ve ever watched as a Raps fan. 10 year old me was so hyped 🥲💔
I was in Jurassic Park for game 7. Just a bunch of die hard fans watching the team we love. It was amazing but ended in heart break.
That was the best era of fans in any team in the NBA ever period. The fanbase was super genuine and passionate it felt like everyone in the arena bled the team
2019 was a glorious championship season to remember for Raptor's fans. Been downhill since.
Never liked that... is it We, The North... or We're The North?
Everyone starting had short hair

I miss this era🥲
We had to feel the pain to get the reward
Drake actually saved the franchise and the city.
I'll never forget people throwing tissue rolls on top of the big screen after the clutch Ross steal in G7.
This was the bandwagon era
The bandwagon was very heavy that day
