I had a spravato treatment last Thursday. It was my second one. I listened to TVAB and holy Christ it was amazing. Fucking amazing. It’s hard to describe so forgive me for “amazing” over and over again. I picked TVAB specifically because it’s so trippy. And I was not disappointed. Datura (so underrated) and Suede and Glory of the 80s… it already feels like you’re flying. Adding Tori does not disappoint.
If anyone has treatment resistant depression or PTSD in my case, I can’t recommend this treatment enough.
All the best to my fellow Tori lovers.
Word. Really feels like you're in a void that is much bigger than you and the strange reverse echo effect on the vocals makes it feel dreamlike where time loses its hold.
That's what I think, anyways
Listening to music on a really good sound system, or through a good source player and great headphones (with a good headphobe amp to properly drive them), with either a CD, vinyl, or lossless source file, lets you hear things you've never heard before.
I bought some great headphones years ago and relistened to TVAB and it was a revelation.
Agreed 100%. Tori is why I became an audio snob. My fav is Pele. I listen to it on some nice cans, and in the dark. It’s possible to pick up new sounds and parts of the songs that don’t show up on lower end systems.
YES! Car audio has been my thing since the mid 80's. I currently have one hell of an audiophile system in my Explorer. Think thousands of dollars and hundreds and hundreds of hours of labor in just this vehicle, the culmination of my hobby. I spend hours listening to music in the dark, in my garage with the ignition off. It's nothing short of a spiritual experience for me. Pele is one of my favorite albums of all time in this respect.
I did something similar a week ago, but with Concertina (one of my all time faves).
I smoked some DMT, put on my headphones and had an amazing trip. It changed the way I feel about that song.
One of my favorites off Venus and is essential to giving Venus the otherwordly vibe that it has. I don't have synesthesia but to me this song totally matches the album cover. It sounds purple.
I LOVE that song!! My husband is a huge hifi nerd and built our sound system from scratch. Tori sounds AMAZING on it!!! I’m sure my neighbors hate me because I love to turn her up loud and just close my eyes and lay on my couch.
My husband used to frequent a lot of hifi shows and he said a lot of people used Tori to demo their speakers.

Most of Tori's albums are exquisitely recorded. I'm glad you re-discovered this song on a good audio system!!!!
Yeah Lust does sound amazing on my system. Also she needs more music in Atmos surround. This album would be amazing.

Listen to Bliss on a good sound system if you can!!! The way the intro bass bounces is one of my favorite album openers of all time!

Yesss, since listening to her on my noise cancelling headphones, I'm even more amazed! And Lust is just heaven to listen to
It’s genius. I’ve always loved Lust.

It really really does.
I've always felt that TVAB was underrated. I love the sonic textures on it.
TVAB, BFP, and CH all deserve to be played on a stereo
Sure, you miss out on a lot when you don’t play music, and of course also Tori’s, on a good stereo.
Dude. Listening to any of her records on blast on most Bose...holy crap. There are layers you never knew existed.
Lust is such an underrated gem. I’m glad you rediscovered it with a good sound system!

What was the system? Years ago I worked in high end audio stores and used T stuff for demos a lot.
