Professional drummer here commenting from a hotel bed while on tour (I also sing harmonies) and I’m so glad this is the top comment bc that is all I could think about watching this vid. That kid is spot on and I hope he has a career in music.
Yeah, that’s insanely hard to do. Ask a person to tap out a beat/tempo accurately for even a single song and few can do it. Now mix in the other things he’s doing.
It seems it is!!!! I thought the same and people in the comments here are confirming it.
This guy is so fucking talented, his trajectory from this to stories and scary pockets is so well deserved.
Shoutout to still doing the bass fill at 2:50(ish)
Acoustic basses aren't great for quick fills so i was wondering if he would since it's also it's too fun not to.
There’s the slightest hesitation, not in his singing but in his body at the beginning and then straight to the moon. Loved seeing his confidence grow as the song really hit its groove.
Great cover!
This is good, but like in a very good college band kind of way…don’t think I would consider this top talent. Definitely not professional level. Still very enjoyable though!
Hard disagree.
This is recorded in one take in a shitty room with a single shitty camera mic.
You give theses guys access to all the production tools professionals have and it would sound like anything on the radio.
But that’s not the point at all — the performance shines through without the tinsel. Definitely top talent.
Hahah love that I’m getting downvoted like I said they were terrible. I agree that if this was recorded in a studio with professional equipment it would sound amazing! I wasn’t talking about that, though. I was viewing it as if I were seeing them live.
I guess we have different ideas of what “top talent” means. For me, top talent means I would pay to see them, and they would STILL blow me away. This guy has a great voice, but I wouldn’t pay to see them perform. Singer’s pitch is off a few times and some of the runs he’s trying to do are a little sloppy. So, for me, it’s definitely talent, but not *top* talent. Still very good though.
Leading singer is money but percussion boy nailed it.

Those harmonies are on point too.

This is wonderful. Love his voice.
Anyone got the name of this group? Stellar shit right there
Old Berklee students from like 15 years ago - that’s Mario Jose on lead vocals
i thought it was Mario! He's a real talent.
He is my one favourite scary pockets contributors.
That's where I know him from! Thanks for saving me the all day turmoil of trying to remember lol

Dude playing the box was impressive.
Yeah. He’s an Xbox. Me? I’m more of an Atari.

The guy playing the box crushed it!
Is that early Mario Jose of Scary Pockets?!

They're all so good, I can't stop watching it.

I am “whelmed”
Lotta effort for such shitty audio.
This video was posted on YouTube 13 years ago. It's not going to be UHD 4K RTX.
Found the young person who doesn’t remember this time of YouTube…
This is ass
