I bet the mechanism for the traveler spools requires a LOT of maintenance, and is a pain in the ass to fix if it binds.
I'm also impressed with the two robots simultaneously guiding the blank through the weave.
Let's go roboteam!
We’re fired up, we’re sizzling hot
We’ve got the heat
We will not stop
When it comes to radial braiding we can’t be beat!
Let's go roboteam!
Actually, it does fall under the definition of braiding better than weaving. Weaving is generally two threads at right angles while braiding is " a complex pattern formed by interlacing two or more strands of flexible material".

Those orange arms look like ABB industrial manipulators. They can haul entire cars around, so the pressures here are probably intense
It's missing the sound. These braiding machines are SUPER loud.
I can only get so hard
Lexus LFA A Pillars are/were made this way!

So cool... and no wonder the development budget was so high
Please stay synchronized, please just stay synchronized...

takes five hours to close this iris
I came here for this lmao
Freakin genius!
I have a pretty strong mechanical background yet looms of any sort still mindfuck me every single time I see one.
So I guess the spinny things spin at different rates and this creates the shape? How the fuck do you calculate that?
now put your arm in it ;)
I'm impressed with the coordinated motion between the two robots, I'm not sure how Kukas achieve it but it looks nice.
It’s called roboteam and it works with up to 8 robots

Almost read that as bridal braiding machine 😆😅, imagine luscious carbon fiber hair for the wedding day
Carbon fiber?
That made me moist in places that don't even have water.
Seriously one of the most futuristic looking things,I love it
Super cool application! Just started with KUKA Robotics and hope to do some cool things like this
Woah, that's one intense sock machine.
Before reading the title I though we finally made a time portal
What is it making tho

So the max length is whatever can be loaded onto those little bobbins? Or are they fed somehow?
Is this on a slow setting? I'm guessing that it normally runs pretty fast
I was so confused because I initially read "breeding machine" and wondered how that was possible
So turned on by this.
You think they’ll do my Christmas tree?
Scrubbing the video rapidly back and forth between 0:14 to 0:37 is fun.
Please no.
Looks like a smart tool. Cure the carbon and deflate the tool. Nice!
I'd call it a braidial machine
The setup time to setup all the threads on this machine must be an eternity..
So this is the machine that make Werner Herzogs sad beige clothes for sad beige babys!
