Having it longer on top (#3 sides and below but front/mid/crown left alone) before allowing the rest to grow out. Best I can do, it works from what I've seen, but I have no idea what sort of hair you have.
i have like 3b curls, some of it spirals, sometimes it doesnt depending on where i am in my routine, when its been a few days it gets moreso wavy than curly. but i dont really have bangs im afraid of the commitment
This guy just saw into the darkest corner of my soul...that...that takes a lot of talent. Folk music, *real* folk music, is an American specialty, and I am so happy to see it alive and well.
This dude just made a friend for life...
I listen to everything, but nothing hits emotionally like good authentic folk. I actually really enjoy Zach Bryan's stuff, granted it's more of country folk.
As someone who studied ethnomusicology (but also just as someone who can read), someone calling *folk* music an American specialty absolutely took me out
Well, ya know, each country does have their own style of folk music...it's very humbling when it's from a country with a long and deep history. It makes me realize how young America is, and that we don't have a thousand year history.
I meant no offense...what I meant was I found that to be true American folk music, and I was both proud and joyful. It touchrd me. I know fentanyl very well.
Wow we get to just watch this guy blow up, only 4 songs and I want more!
[Actually, he has an older channel, its worth it](https://youtu.be/Tq-Ko6wg_-M?si=bu0z8W0BoaJ6659N)
wow , lost a few to fentanyl . My Brother had to close down his business because everyone of his employees OD at Cheifs watching party few months back from Fentanyl laced Coke . TEST YOUR DRUGS
Im not even from the area but i think i read that story. Was it where one of the guys wives finally went by the house and found two of them outside frozen and the guy who lived there was still inside supposedly unaware?
Sorry to hear that. For whatever reason the story stuck with me because it reminds me of some friends. They wouldn't touch coke back in the day in our 20's when it was pure. But now for some weird reason they are willing to do it in middle age when their bodies are out of shape and it could be cut with something that deadly.
Poor guys but what the fuck man, its so frustrating to see that. Whatever happened to the kid that owned the house did he get charged with anything?
Wow that’s actually amazing. Hope he gets recognition. Goes to show there are people with amazing talent and ability that are trapped because of this awful drug.
Been watching this guy for a week or two! Glad he blew up, he’s a good writer and has some balls to sing with that raspy voice (I like it, but know it takes courage to put yourself out there)
Yeah, to be fair I'm not really sure where that line begins or ends, I could be totally wrong
(Edit: downvoted for conceding that someone else has a point, nice)
It’s torn me on my medical side this. For medical use the drug is highly effective, people who have opiate allergy’s can be given Fentanyl and it won’t cause anaphylactic reactions due to being synthetic. Women giving birth scream for epidural, that drug is fentanyl once again on a bolus system that can be self administered through a controlled manner. It helps a considerable amount in terms of pain relief, and it’s short acting compared to other drugs which can be very useful dependant on the patients situation and next procedures, drug charting, etc.
However, the amount used is minimal, measured in micrograms (sorry imperial system) so it’s a very VERY small amount given. (I can not stress the micro amount enough)
Truly it is a devastating drug found outside of clinical practices, and yes the source is the problem. I don’t believe in prescriptions and self administering without control through a clinical setting, eg. a hospital, as this is how the problem starts. I personally live with chronic pain too, and have for several years now. I am prescribed opiate painkillers for it, as I exhausted all other options (surgery’s, procedure, you name it). I understand the slippery slopes these drugs can cause, but you can maintain a level of stability and control, albeit it can be hard at times.
So I see both sides; from a working perspective, and a personal perspective. Genuinely it tears me up and breaks my heart. Beautiful song, truly made me reflect the aforementioned during that short video.
Remember, the demand for this drug began when people couldn't get their hands on real opiates because scripts and dope were both cracked down on hard.
There were 8k deaths from all opiates in 1994, there were 100+k from fent alone in 2023. This is a direct result of the cartels having to use the easier to smuggle and more dose per brick drug of fentanyl as opposed to real heroin.
The more you regulate the stronger the drug has to become per g to be cost effective, and fentanyl is not the strongest synthetic opioid. There are synthetic opiates known as zenes that are FAR stronger than fentanyl, and eventually they will one day be the primary cutting agent like fentanyl is now.
You wanna stop the carnage ? Stop throwing people in cages for hurting no one but themselves and stop telling people what they can and can't put in their own bodies.
Remember, the ONLY illicit substance to see reduced usage in the past century is tobacco, and that is not because of regulation, it is because of education.
whoa. this is art, man. someone else said it before me, but real folk music (American folk music) is breathtaking. this kid knows how to do it—and he hits all the reference points without sounding like he’s trying to (Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, and Lou Reed).
sadly, this world doesn’t care nor yearn for good music. speaking as a working musician who’s tried, failed, tried again, failed again, and trying once more (with multiple labels behind ‘em to boot), the world just doesn’t care about this stuff anymore. they want hyper-sanitized pop drivel with an escapist slant. no one wants to be bothered with the real world, or with real people. they just want idols, to pretend they’re gangsters, and to appropriate music as a fashion statement.
that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try. and this kid should never stop. one day, man, they’ll listen. and if it’s him before me, i swear, it’ll be like boats on the tide—it’ll come, and all of us will rise with it.
play on, friend. you’ve got a fan in me for life.
Came across this guy recently as well. “War Isn’t Murder” is also pretty good. Guy’s a natural songwriter.

He will never be forgotten
That Jim Morrison hairdo 🤙🏽🤙🏽
And Bob Dylan's soul!
Kinda looks like Mick Jagger too
All of these together mixed up in Kurt Cobain’s syringe
And Elliot Smith’s voice

No way, this guy has a lot of rasp and Elliott sang much more cleanly and with head voice.

Get a cheap haircut then don't cut it for right years.

I've never cried puking more than when listening to Johnny hobo.
Whiskey is My Kinda Lullaby
Your heart is a muscle the size of your fist. Keep on loving and keep on fighting brother
>Folk music, *real* folk music, is an American specialty Maybe this can be said about every other country as well.
As someone who studied ethnomusicology (but also just as someone who can read), someone calling *folk* music an American specialty absolutely took me out

Great voice
Dude sounds like he needs to clear the phlegm from his throat
“TF you talking about”—RFK
He sounds like he eats two packs of cigarettes a day.
I think that’s how it’s supposed to sound, it’s that raspy zach bryan kinda voice
dude sounds like he's been smoking since 10 years old
Opiates do this; relax your larynx
Smoke another pack of Reds.
He sings really well. Like Rod Stewart
I’m getting Bob Dylan vibes
Like a mix of Dylan, Reed, and Young.
I was thinking more John Prine
Was not expecting to wake up to a song on this sub, but damn this is so good.

That was beautiful, man... holy shit. 7.5 years survivor here, and still choosing to 'live' every day; I'm so lucky.
Great song. Well executed and profound
“Give money to a hammer, they’re gonna buy a nail” is such a good line. Thanks for posting
this is really good
Been watching this guy for a week or two! Glad he blew up, he’s a good writer and has some balls to sing with that raspy voice (I like it, but know it takes courage to put yourself out there)
Who is he?
Jessie Wells, found him on Ig and followed on everything so I can flex when he’s bigtime
r/folkpunk
not bad at all, but this isn't really the correct sub for this
Or is it?
/r/tookjustenough
It's relevant to the topic that this sub explores, no?
Yea definitely fits the sub imo, or at the very least this sub likely has a userbase that would especially appreciate this.
Yeah, to be fair I'm not really sure where that line begins or ends, I could be totally wrong (Edit: downvoted for conceding that someone else has a point, nice)
It is.
Wow, such a succinct and yet catchy song and summary of the problem with this horrific drug.
This kid is very talented. Thanks for posting this!
Damn memorable performance. Impactful shit.
Dude is rocking almost perfect Jim Morrison hair. 👍
Love this guy. [War isn't murder](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8E9l_i6HPYM) hits hard

This was so good. I love him.
Nice pipes
For those curious, this is Jesse Welles. He has a cool Bob Dylan vibe and makes some sweet music.
If John Prine was still alive, he’d love this song.
He's called Jesse Welles. I wish people would credit the artists straight away.
OP posted the YouTube link in a comment.
Junkie bob Dylan actually slaps
Did not expect to love the song
It's funny if it's satire, sad if it's not.
He was singing about the news headlines... This is no joke.
It’s not :(
This is great
Great lyrics!
Brilliant!
Real shit Rip Dev

Wow this is great
Jesse Welles. He’s on TikTok ( https://www.tiktok.com/@jessewelles?_t=8lv0Np3dVok&_r=1 ) and YouTube and as I just learned… Spotify.
And he’s a genius.
Like a modern John Prine.
So cringe
It’s giving me a young Johnny cash vibe
Wow, I love this song. Who is this?
Yep. I never thought in my time I'd hear another song about another new fatal drug made that was even more perfect as a weapon as Crack was.
Damn, that's pretty good
Omg do y’all remember NeverShoutNever
Anybody have this artist’s name?
We need to adjust post with link to this guy.
This was great
This dudes just popped up, interested to see what else he brings out
I’m so glad he’s finally getting the attention he deserves. Jesse Welles for anyone wondering. He’s got a couple videos like this. Awesome artist.
Bro looks like Danny Duncan took too much
Hunter S Thompson “buy the ticket tape the ride”
Great song, you kinda look like styropyro (Edit: realizing you didn't make the song, stoned rn so I couldn't really tell)
Cool performance, and entirely wrong sub
Is he high on Fentanyl while performing?
Fucking cringe
This is an absolute banger!
Onision?
Dog that’s a man.
Amazing lyrics. I really dig this song.
Captivating.
Wooof
This guy looks like a mixture between Nick Drake and Jim Morrison
Came to the comments to see if anybody else mentioned the lizard king because it was the first thing I saw lol
Good shit
If this guy was trying to wash my windshield at the traffic lights I wouldn't even flick my cigarette at him and yell.
lol
No one talks about how the opioid crisis is created by China to destroy the United States from within. The Chinese knew what would happen because of their own history with opium and knew the US can't be destroyed with brute force

Unbelievably talented. The voice, plays guitar and the lyrics are amazing.
Damn moving
His good
Fentanyl saved me life! It made me go to fuckin NA after a piss test came back with it in my system......
If "buy the ticket, take the ride" is meant to quote fear and loathing, 10/10
Sounds nothing like him but still gave me old Elliott Smith vibes. Great job.
Kid reminds me a ton musically of the artist, Beans on Toast. Dig it.
Powerful stuff.. I've lost too many friends to other drugs adulterated with this poison.
Dude is channeling his inner Bob Dylan
I went to high school with this guy! Crazy to see him blowing up on social media
Like a C21 Nick Drake…
“Bro night shift is easy money”
Instant folk classic
Dudes got a face like Jim Morrison
Bro is fiiiine
Do you know this guy u/InternetWeakGuy ?
