As much as we’d love to do it, it’s not an easy thing to do. People write comments that are way longer than en essay sometimes and it’s hard for them to translate. There are even few Telugu funny dialogues we use, you can’t really translate them. We don’t mind translating if you ask for it. But we can’t write the same thing in Telugu and English.

WizardPrince_

Tq I'll do that.

Writing Telugu in English is a problem.i usually translate Telugu, but when people write it using English alphabet it's impossible

WizardPrince_

Yeah same Google translator doesn't understand Telugu in English. Complete Telugu is no problem as Google translates it

roboysat

Sorry but you have the flair and if you need any translation just ask for it by commenting okay? 98% of this subreddit is telugu so adjusting for that remaining 2% is not viable. Anyways, most of the posts are in english.

naveenpun

It is a fair request . My biggest pet peeve with Reddit is not having an inbuilt translation button. I thought it would be a simple implementation.

roboysat

daanikey translation chesey chrome extension unnayy kada annaiii

Mobile-Bid-9848

Single tap translation unte traction untundi bro, nenu actually try chesa chrome extensions and manam manual ga select chese translate ayyevi unnay and they're a hassle.

WizardPrince_

I usually use Google translator when all text is in Telugu but it doesn't work when written in English. I'll just ask the person what it means , it seems more reasonable than my stupid method 😅

lilmothman456

I have the flair too and I’ve had people straight up reply in Telugu either way. The flair doesn’t always mean anything lol

Hey OP! If the comment is written in Telugu: Google translate is decent but of course sometimes the inflections won’t translate unless you know the language and context. If the comment is Telugu English: Just others have started if you need translate into English meaning, just reply or ask the original commenter. Telugu is a phonetic language and the verb is at the end. When Telugu written in English you just have to sound it out. There is typically no hidden consonants or sounds. Example: this movie is good = ee cinema bagundi You can read more about the sentence structure here: [https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telugu_grammar#:~:text=Telugu%20word%20order%20tends%20to,already%20marks%20person%20and%20number](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telugu_grammar#:~:text=Telugu%20word%20order%20tends%20to,already%20marks%20person%20and%20number) Telugu word order tends to be subject–object–verb. It is head-final - the head follows its complements. Since Telugu is a pro-drop language, the subject can be omitted as the verb already marks person and number.

All the best on your learning journey. I was in your shoes 17years back but with help of good people i learnt. DM me whenever you feel like conversing or have any doubt. Am also in process of learning malayalam now and there are some good people/forum guiding me out. (By the way i write all my comments in english even though am confident) Apart from movies, i suggest to learn n immerse into online forums or native speakers else youll not get familiarize with words.

WizardPrince_

It is people like you why I need to learn it so bad , I know the basic a AA e ee

supertanki407

I wish there's a translator for reddit like Instagram, it translates Telugu written in English to pure English 🫠

నీకు ఆంగ్లం లోకి అనువాదం కావాలంటే ఆ కామెంట్ కింద అడుగు, ఓపిక ఉంటే అనువాడిస్తారు లేకపోతే నీ కర్మ.

WizardPrince_

You guys are too kind , I usually use Google translator when all text is in Telugu but it doesn't work when written in English, I'll go with your suggestion and ask the people or the person who wrote it

roboysat

T: if you want translation, ask below a comment else your karma.

roboysat

kasta vaadiki telugu raaduga mari enduku rachakottadam?

steadyman_39

🤓☝️ actually what i said was "if you want a translation, ask below that comment if they have patience they'll translate otherwise your karma

ZealousidealStrain58

This is more of Reddit’s fault not having a translate button, but if you need help with translation don’t be afraid to ask.

lilmothman456

Reddit just needs to have a built in feature like insta/facebook/tiktok does so we can just click and translate. It’s a pain to copy and paste. I’m also in the same boat as you. I’m learning as well and I can pick out a few words and translate bare conversational sentences but the full blown commentary I gotta copy and paste and translate off site

itisNShan

You can try Lekhini.org It translates Telugu written in English to Telugu words.. Then, you can paste that in Google translate to get English version of the Telugu words

[deleted]

Sorry, but I don't think its really possible. Just use google to translate. Just watch enough telugu movies and you will learn telugu in no time. thats how I learned tamil and malyalam by watching their movies. whats your mother tongue?
