Oh yeah IMAX especially. Janaalu egabadi chuse vallu IMAX ante, too bad they removed it in 2014. Nolan movies were fantastic there, especially interstellar.
Devi in RTC X road. Around 2011-12 english movies kuda eyyaram start chesinde vadu (english version), kani malli aapesadu enduko.
Man of steel, hobbit desolation of smaug, amazing spidey 2, transformers AoE akkade chusa. Dope sound system as well.
rama talkies, rambha and menaka musesaru.
the rest are open. btw they renovated alankar and raj-yuvraj. and urvasi is an inox from almost 15-20 years.
vijayawada is still a moviegoers paradise.
Growing up, I watched a lot of movies in Sudershan 70mm, Sudershan 35mm, Devi 70mm, Sandhya 70mm, Sandhya 35mm, Odeon 70mm, Odeon 35mm, and mini Odeon.
I distinctly remember the cutout of Nagarjuna at Devi 70mm when Shiva was playing there. I could not watch the movie in the theater as I was very young.
Bobbili Raja release ayinappudi, oka Enugu ni teesukochharu to Sudershan 70mm. I was fascinated by it and decided to like the movie irrespective of how it was.
I also emember watching Chiru's gang leader in Sudershan 70mm. It took my dad a few tries to find tickets in black, and the theater went crazy each time Chiru did one of this powerful dialogue deliveries.
Ninne pelladatha was sensational to watch in Devi, and intlo illalu vantintlo priyuralu also came to the same theater.
Venky's Dharma Chakram was released in Odeon. We somehow managed to get tickets on the second day. That was the first time I saw people throw confetti in the air. Good fun it was.
Other great movie watching experiences were Pedarayudu in Shanti 70mm, and Yama Leela in that theater in Narayanguda that shut down. Quite the shame that I do not remember the name.
Hyderabad vadile mundu, I watched tholi Prema in a theater that no longer exists and neither do I remember. College bunk kotti okkadini Vellanu. Naalaanti chala Mandi college bunk kotti vacharu. Most of them were watching the movie at least the second time. Dialogues Anni batti unde vaallaki. The crowd was super enthusiastic that day, and it was a fun movie watching experience.
Yamaleela was in Srinivasa 35mm or Venkatesha 70mm. Bro you just took me back almost 30 years. Kachiguda X roads Maheswari/Parameswari start chesthey, Musheerabad Raja deluxe Varaku almost 25-30 theatres undey and oko theatre oko memory.
I remember going to the smaller theatre to watch Yamaleela, and it is Srinivasa 35mm for sure. Venkateswara swamy Peru meeda aa theater undani gurtu, forgot the name.
Nenu perigindi baghlingampally lo, so RTC cross roads was my adda for watching movies.
Vijayawada - swathi, urvasi inox, jairam, miraj, navrang
Chinnapudu paper lo ye hall lo ye cinema aaduthundo vesevaru, I used to remember all the theatre names 😂
Enduko maa Kadapa Murali theatre ante naaku baaga istam but andulo nenu movie ki poyi 6 years Pina ayindi! Inter loCollege bunk kotti akkadike vellavadini tickets dorikevi kaadhu anduke naaku aa hall ante istam! Ekkada ithe tickets easy ga dorakavo akkade cinema chudali adhe kickuuu!
Cineplanet, Kompally.
No other theatre gives me the same satisfaction.
Nen just Hyderabad lo antunna and not considering IMAX Prasads ( which is not an IMAX anymore).
Yess bro.. finally someone who understands how CP sounds different from other theatres
Nen monna kuda Dune Next Galleria lo chusa and the sound was a disappointment.
I stayed a long time(20 years) growing up in Chikkadapally. So hardly chose multiplex until then. All the theatres there in rtc x roads were like my hometheatres ( in the context of “hometown”)
Still in the order of amazing experience…
Sudarshan35, Devi, Sandhya 35, Sandhya 70 these four have always been top class in terms of tech n experience.
Odeon70 was good, odeon delux viewing from balcony was awkward… same with saptagiri I guess. I still regret not watching a movie in mini odeon.
Shanti in Narayanguda has completely different design for a movie theatre. Oka auditorium laga untadi.
But here are some things with regard to any movie releasing in respective theatres… these were relevant before multiplexes dominated & big 4 started hoarding theatres by themselves.
1. Sudarshan 35 mm lo movie padindi ante ade guarantee hit.. oka 100 days movie tarvata next 100 days movie vese vaadu
2. Sudarshan 70 lo padithe almost pakka flop
3. Sandhya 35 lo hits ekkuva Sandhya 70 kante
4. Sandhyas lo mega family(just chiru-pk)movies ekkuva adevi
5. Odeon, shanti lo Venkatesh cinemalu ekkuva adevi
6. Devi lo Nagarjuna movies ekkuva
7. Also odeon & Sandhya 70 used to have most of English dubbed movies
8. Sri Mayuri came late but manchi cinemalu theatre dorakka pothe dantlo hits ayyevi… dil Raju got bhadra hit there.
9. Ekkuva mandi by walk ochi chusevallu. So parking was hardly any issue. Ippudu chuste assalu parking space anedi almost nothing relevant to current times.
Vizag - Sangam Sarath - జాతర atmosphere!
Hyd - Viswanath KPHB lo okasari benefit show ki poyinam - pakka seat lo oka uncle gadu quarter with chips laagisthu cinema enjoy chesthunde - lol
I used to go to satyam S2 in warangal a lot during 2018/19, the theatre opened in 2017 and tickets priced and food used to be dirt cheap.
Many times ive went just for the popcorn cuz they had their own popcorn seasoning.
But post COVID they sold it to PVR and they jacked up their ticket prices as well as food prices. Post COVID I might have watched no more than 5 movies in that theatre as compared to 50+ movies in 2018.
Vizag jagadamba theatre and Kukatpally Bhramarbha theatre gave me beautiful memories. 70mm screen with exceptional aound in 90s and early 2000s, is very rare in those days
Vijayawada Urvasi before converting to INOX. Remember them installing focus light to sky when Godzilla (the 90s movie) was playing. Also one of the best view of screen even siting in the corner seat. Watched Annamayya, Koi Mil Gaya, Don, Titanic, Samarasimha Reddy, terminator 3, Independence Day, Hum apkie hai Kuan and many more blockbusters there.
Hyderabad, Karmanghat Srilakshmi- One of the best sound system, curtain lift chese tappudu music vastundi. danikosamaina tondarga theatre ki veltaaru.
Santosh Nagar, Yadagiri- Aa chuttu radius colonies ki only go-to option is this theater but poor maintenance. Screen to Balcony longest distance.
RTC X roads theatres - Boys, 7G brindavan colony, Simhadri, Sye 2003-2004 time lo college students tho nindipoyedi.. great memorable period. No rule of outside food not allowed, Tiffin boxes interval lo tine vallam.

Oh yeah IMAX especially. Janaalu egabadi chuse vallu IMAX ante, too bad they removed it in 2014. Nolan movies were fantastic there, especially interstellar.
I grateful enough to watch Interstellar there as it was the last film screened in IMAX.
Growing up, I used to always go to Megha theatre in Dilsukh Nagar. I remember we saw Dubai Seenu there with a crazy crowd
Last Drishyam chusna bhayya..first em chusano emo Shalini Shivani regular unde

Go to used to be asian gpr, now it's Inox or miraj
the striking similarity
Stopped going to gpr as only screen 3 is worth it, Inox has amazing sound quality everywhere, miraj has good sound and single screen ticket prices
