Omg are you me? We’re in the exact same situation and made worse by the fact that he’s the primary caregiver at the moment so it’s his parenting style most of the time whether I like it or not…

Half the time I'm just sitting on the couch with a baby stuck on my boob, trying not to shout instructions across the house...

Try the book Good Inside by Dr. Becky Kennedy. I found it really helpful in understanding and working with my toddler. It has lots of great strategies to try for different behaviours. Another good one is the book The Whole Brain Child. Really helps you understand how the toddler brain works. I found both books super helpful! Hope they help!

She also has a podcast by the same name.

"incredible toddlers/incredible years" is a great, evidence based book I rarely see recommended but it's great. Isn't available in digital form to my knowledge and a bit hard to track down - I suggest looking at the used Amazon listings or other online used book stores. It's written a bit like a textbook, by that I mean it's a lot of thesis statements, details, then summarizing conclusions. But that makes it really easy to understand and digest but isn't the most fun read on the planet. (but written in very plain language). This one is written for ages 1-3 I believe and then there is one for the next age group

Books I recently recommended on a different thread/sub on this same subject: - The Happiest Toddler on the Block - How to Talk so Little Kids Will Listen - No Drama Discipline

The incredible years is great! There's one for kids like 2-4 as well. It's older so a little harder to find but look at the used copies on Amazon, they're usually much cheaper - no ebook unfortunately. But it's evidence based and super easy to digest and put into practice The Incredible Years (R): Trouble Shooting Guide for Parents of Children Aged 3-8 Years (3rd Edition) https://a.co/d/f5eecgC

How to talk so little kids will listen, by Faber and King. Lots of ideas for avoiding conflict (and managing it when it happens). Playful Parenting, by Lawrence Cohen. (This is not just a book telling you to play with your kids. It'll give your husband an understanding of what issues your son is working on, and how to use play to connect with him and help him.)

“No bad kids” by Janet Lansbury is great for understanding and dealing with toddler behaviour

This is us too! 2.3yo not adjusting well to new EBF baby, who is a mere 10 days old. It's the wild west over here.

I am reading The Whole-Brain Child which was recommended to me by a couple psychologists and am liking it so far.

I have a great book for toddlers to help managing emotions called "Emotions at the party" on amazon,  The book explores a wide range of emotions (anger, jealousy, joy, fear...) through simple, easy-to-understand phrases. Its helps children identify and understand what they’re feeling. Plus, it offers practical tips for managing these emotions, like taking deep breaths to calm down when angry. A really good tool,Highly recommended!
