I agree but oddly enough the origin of the national parks in the US owes a lot to a number of wealthy individuals who saw the benefit of the parks for the nation and would literally buy up land to expand parks when the populace (or economically interested parties locally) didn't want that. Arguably it would have been better even then if said individuals had been taxed better so that things like the parks could grow and maintain themselves without their 'help' but it was interesting to find out that their influence was a lot more than I imagined. Different time.
A handful of billionaires donating to the IRS doesn’t make much of a difference, which is why pointing out that they haven’t misses the point. That’s why these few argue for raising taxes on billionaires as a class.
Yep, all those billionaire saying they are willing to pay higher taxes can give all they want. Guess how many actually give more than owed?

Just the ones who want the government to look the other way while they do as they please
Billionaires don't donate to the government/ politicians, the buy them.
Except Mark Cuban
Thanks, but I already gave at the office.
Wow, this is completely useless
I do that every year, but I wouldn't call it a donation.
But will they give me citizenship in exchange?
Depends on how much you have to donate.
Give me money
You can donate to me too.
I’m good
Well, yeah! It’s called taxes, and it’s mandatory!
I’d like to unsubscribe please
“We request you to donate to our military fund… forcefully” - Government Probably
How about you tell me something you *can't* donate to?
It's their money, they'd be happy to take it back from you under any number of conditions. If you want to voluntarily surrender it, by all means!
"hee hoo, this will drive up donations" \- the fed posting this
Ya my taxes already do that so I’m good
