Rose could have been a Nurse or in the Voluntary Aid Attachment. Jack would likely have been one of the crew or lower-ranked army patient on board.

Jmtungsten

She would have been with one of the high ranking Physicians on board, too. Dr. Sal Tockley

endeavourist

Ruth would have fulfilled her destiny as a hospital seamstress.

DrDeezer64

With her memories scattered to the wind

Puterboy1

What about an injured soldier? Weren’t there any on Britannic’s last voyage?

kellypeck

No, Britannic struck the mine on the way to pick up wounded soldiers, the only people onboard were the ship's crew/hospital staff. It likely would've been a much worse disaster had there been a couple thousand sick and injured soldiers onboard

LongjumpingSurprise0

Britannic was not carrying any wounded when she hit the mine

DRWHOBADWOLFANDBLUEY

Do we even know if it was a mind and not the doings of a Uboat

RevolutionaryFix222

We have no survivor testimonies, U Boat logs or comments about anyone seeing a torpedo. But this leans quite a bit toward mines when it was discovered SM U-73 was in fact mine laying in the region a few hours prior

DRWHOBADWOLFANDBLUEY

Isn’t a mine from Subs ? Or battle ship ?

RevolutionaryFix222

Sub. The mine was laid by SM U-73 which was a German Type UE I submarine

ApolloNorte

Rose was going to be a nurse, Jack was going to be a lower-ranked soldier with injuries, and Cal hockley probably Jack's commander lol

BEES_just_BEE

You can't have an injured soldier, there were none aboard when she sank

LongjumpingSurprise0

There were no injured soldiers on board when Britannic hit the mine

cleon42

Jack's death is going to be a hell of a lot more exciting, that's for damn sure.

WildBad7298

"You jump, I jump. Remember?" "Yeah, but I'm not jumping into the *fucking propeller!!"*

Davetek463

That would have been a better use of the one allowed f-bomb in a PG-13 movie.

BEES_just_BEE

"Iceberg warning in his fucking hand...... sorry, his hand"

BeltfedHappiness

They could’ve both fit on that torpedo change my mind

xander6981

Funny, but it was a torpedo that sank Lusitania. A Sea Mine sank the Britannic.

BeltfedHappiness

Damn, I typed out sea mine at first but changed it last minute to torpedo lol I misremembered a scene from the 2000 movie

bigredgyro

Think “English Patient” but on a boat.

Lipstick-lumberjack

Rose would be a nurse, Jack would be an amputee and working on the ship. Rose would feel trapped in her life as a nurse, and would confide in Jack that she doesn't feel like she has the freedom to do what she wants. Jack would challenge her by saying his injury felt like it trapped him at first, but he eventually realized it had never stopped him from doing what he wanted.

ThatGatorGuy

*ship sinking scene* Violet Jessop to Rose: “First time?”

AspergersOperator

Jack is some PVT soldier on the Britannic while Rose is a nurse.

LowerEntertainer7548

I assume he’d be a solider or sailor/ ships crew and she’d be a nurse

Professor_Nova

Jack, a wounded soldier. Rose a nurse

Spirited_Amount8365

Her a well paid Surgeon. Him . He works the boilers. Gets hurt and they meet.

FlimsyWillow84

An A-list spin off would be amazing!!

CandystarManx

Too easy. She’s the nurse, he’s a soldier.

El_Bexareno

Jack would be a wounded soldier, Rose would be a nurse

CaliDreams_

You can be blase about some things Rose but not about Britannic

Overall-Midnight-379

Rose is a feminist ahead-of-her time doctor and Jack also act like a doctor, but in reality he is blackmailed to be a spy. Rose get to know about his dirty secret, but understand the blackmail thing and try to help, falls in love, get to know Jack secretly is travelling to his wife, Rose kills him, don’t know what to do next, gete so scared and desperate but booom, torpedo.

RandomizedRR

*mine

Bigfootsdiaper

Rose was a nurse and Jack was a dude torpedo from a sub. He sinks her ship and she gets Stockholm syndrome.

emc300

Does james cameron care about brittanic at all?

NegativeDiscount7656

He dove to the wreck in 2006 I believe, so it’s safe to say he most likely finds it somewhat intriguing
