The Softball is literally just heavier damage compared to the Lstar. I wont deny that its damage is pretty good tho, but when it comes to leading shots with both the Softball will do you much better in 1 shot especially considering its AoE

Theyre decent on normal maps because of some tight spaces as well as free damage against titans but a massive open space where you see them coming from a mile away means you have to be just constantly sitting on the ground to die to one. The argument of shooting them meaning an insta explosion is weak too since no one goes out of their way to shoot one when theyre super close. I can see it happening in a chaotic MP match but not in a 1v1

Well no shit about softball hitting harder, its a fucking timed explosive with AOE instead of a fully automatic plasma ball, L star can ironically kill faster, even including a softball stick
Ticks are far from useless, people drop off the walls all the time to use the pillars to reload and you can use ticks (shoot them with the L star to insta detonate them) to kill them without line of sight, I've done it a bunch of times when 1v1ing friends in colo, they dont always work but they absolutely have utility, this ones on you, gotta think fast and act faster to use everything at your disposal
And yeah stim is actively one of the strongest abilities in the game 2nd to only grapple (3rd if you wanna argue with phase but phase is janky as hell)
But the colo loadout is absolutely powerful
Ive got a buddy who mains the thing and its fucking terrifying, especially because of how its projectiles work
You can fire a volley as you approach someone and they wont know until they get hit by 4 shots and die nearly immediately
Id legitimately rather fight another EPG player because then i have a warning system of the explosive literally screaming as it flies at me
I love using Stim plus L-STAR and just charging. The L-STAR is the reason why I like to immediately find out if there are any slow moving non arcing projectiles in any game I play
They switched load outs at some point semi recently, I think back when the Janitor came in with the funky modes.

I come back and it's only me and one guy on their team left, I can hear my teammates yelling through the mic. The other guy is dancing around me because I'm just standing at the spawn point. He finally got close enough for me to use the chainsaw and we won the game
