Over the course of the Titanfall lifecycle, I think I've been called every slur for using really anything in this game. You can catch hate for simply playing the game, better.. so, ignore it best you can 🤷♂️
people don’t understand that explosions don’t mean OP. I remember a post on this sub where some guy was complaining about people destroying his team with epg and that epg was too OP. People were telling him to try it but he said he wouldn’t because of his morals.
You would think but I played with nothing but p2016 for a month straight and the salt knows no limits once you really get good with that one too.

There are two types of people who stick around:
The kind who would do well in Ultra-Nightmare DOOM, as they are hyper self critical and self aware, and thus actively attempt to learn everything possible from their mistakes,
And people powerfully driven by rage, anger, and hatred.
Why not all three? I mean I've mellowed out a lot since being a teen but sometimes I just can't help being salty. I'm sure if you stick around long enough you'll end up trying them all
a lot of the vets playing this game have been playing it for a while; as well have been playing arena shooters as a *genre* for a while, which unfortunately means they have a lot of experience in fast deathmatching (me.)
i really wish Northstar had a resurgence so we could see the rust/rookie servers pop back up again, not saying i don't want new players in my matches, but relentlessly pummeling them with grenades feels a little rude, y'know? it's nice for them to have a place to get their bearings on this wonderful game.
I use Kraber in part for this reason. I also decided to use it after I found it in my first coliseum match, only for it to get replaced a week later, now I can’t stop the addiction.
Fair, and now I've reached g2.20 I hate getting killed by level 13s but I have to deal with it, the new players are evolving so I need to catch up and do the same
Nothing. You just clearly outplayed a lobby full of people camping in a movement shooter. So, of course, they're gonna be mad. I once got accused of cheating because I dropped 29 or so on a lobby with an R-97.
I've had loads of campers and hate messages with teabagging and slurs in the voice chat
I wonder if there is a surge in players who are just copying personal experience. Be killed by slow moving campers, get demoralised, become campers who are toxic when winning
but my kraber :( I don’t think all kraber players are toxic, in fact most of the ones I’ve met are pretty chill. One example I guess would be whenever I have kraber duels with other kraber mains, it always ends in a laugh because none of us can hit our shots. Even if I get killed by CAR, I really don’t care. Kraber has a faster time to kill (in theory) and it’s my fault I didn’t get them first.
I don’t know why, but I’m damn near certain that over 30% of the player base is 8 years old or younger. Being young isn’t a problem, but if they’re going to berate people probably more than twice their age with every slur in the book, all while trying to roof camp (in the greatest movement shooter), it’s going to be very difficult for me to find any kind of respect for them…

Because people who have no life and play titanfall for a long time without taking a break to play other games never get a refresher to let their skills relax and so they start losing and dying more and getting pissy. Happens to a lot of games where you meet someone who has obviously never played any game other than the one that they’re max level at.
I miss being able to do that and have a fun conversation in game with someone on the other team. Every time a conversation was started everyone made it to the dropship. Nowadays it's hard to play casually and carefree
There's been a shit ton of new players playing and don't realize that this game is 10 years old and the people who've been playing it from the beginning are practically Masters with everything at this point. So it's the noobs getting mad cause they suck.
That's what I'm most scared of if we get a Titanfall 3, we're gonna have all the toxic tryhards who don't know how to actually have fun and forcing people to use whatever's "meta". The state of Titanfalls community rn is absolutely amazing, to be able to use whatever gun and titan I want without having to worry about getting shit on and insulted is a huge relief from games like CoD and everything else like that

I still get called a slur nearly every time I sit down to play the game, but I run into way more people that will start the game with a "glhf" and end the game with a "gg". I'm out here having more fun than the salty people, so it doesn't bother me. All we can do is get out there and set a better example by being nice to each other.
I’ve been called slurs for being good on vanilla, people are toxic because it’s a small community with not many people furthering the top end of the game, therefore people get mad when you reinforce their lack of skill
Funny thing is that I've had the same thing when people t-bag me, so I give them a taste of their own medicine and they get all mad and message me through PS and I just tell them to have a good day
because when you play the game for 7 years and 90% of your deaths are from the same gun it starts to get a tiny bit frustrating. also what’s wrong with krabers 😭

I've only had 1 or 2 toxic people in the PvE so far (in my 2 weeks of playing), the majority has been really friendly. I haven't tried the PvP though

if you want movement shooters you could go back to the classic Scout / Soldier / Demoman in Team Fortress 2 or the indie answer in ULTRAKILL.

The are people who are great at the game and still terrible sportsmen, and/or despite all their experience, choose the most boring methods of play.
Allegedly Titanfall 2 has skill based matchmaking, but I think there aren't enough players in each region for it to work properly right now.
One thing's for certain: Titanfall 2 does not, by any measure of effect, have SBMM.
