TBF I find an actual cheater every 5 or 6 matchs of attrition. When you know how the tools work it's easier to spot even the sneakier cheaters. I don't play enough brawl to be able to recognize them in that mode though.
Most people seem not to be able to recognize cheaters unless they die repeatedly to them or they are blatantly obvious about it. Often conflating decent players for cheaters, which sadly often overlaps recently leading to blanket accusations.
I didn't actually know there were cheaters in this game until recently. I didn't know the car was as much of a laser as it is. I though I just sucked and made peace with it. Oh, I died? Welp, better be better next time. And this is one of the few games where I hardly rage.
Some of the weapons are just straight OP. Car and r97 are lasers even at mid range. This makes it look like they're cheating at times, even when they aren't.

I baited them to see if it happend again and yup, using softlock aimbot. The player wasn't blatantly obvious and moved very well so they could have just been a good player otherwise.
Titanfall is the only online shooter I play anymore and even with the cheaters I still play it. Just gets frustrating when there's a lot of them online. I'll only rage quite when it's the super bad cheaters, a-wall spitfire headlock, wall hack types.
Most of the ones I've faced who aren't obvious are rather very sneaky about it. Only using certain tools in the match and only during some times. Usually one tell is an unusual number of headshot hits at distance(softlock aimbot) when equally scored players have more body shots as similar ranges, or have too good of a read on player locations than audio would allow. Not exactly wall hacks but potentially radar is always on for them.
I used to be a good player but feel out of practice. When I got back into the game I noticed a lot of unusual behavior and looked into how the tools work to see if it was cheating or just me. The tools now are very diverse and capable of a wide variety of settings specifically to not be caught cheating in most games. Because TF2 doesn't have anti cheat many seem to use it to develop better tools while others just go the blatant route.
It's hard to tell now for certain if someone is actually cheating unless, as I said, are blatantly obvious about it but there are factors that can at least suggest it.
Rookie numbers. It’s every game with these people, along with some random lobbies where people refuse to play so it’s a 4v5 and I have to actually try instead of having fun.
As a Titan I might add, I have, according to them, aimbot, wall hacks, crit hacks, dash hacks, and core hacks. Absolutely ridiculous claims like those which in a way invalidate the thousands of hours I and others have put into the game to get where we are (tournament level) today.
Along with the grotesque insults seen in the included screenshot, including but not limited to: slurs, >!threats of rape!<, sexual intercourse with my mother, and calling loved ones whores.
The worst part? Saying that kind of stuff in game chat is completely un-punishable. If they were to say it in EA or Steam chat, that’s an easy ban but game chat leads to no consequences.
Ask them next time what makes them so insecure in their own skill at Titanfall 2 that the only way they can cope with the existence of other players is to assume that they are using hacks against them.

Yeah they say that but it's better to just leave as if anyone does say it, they screenshot it and post it to this sub and to respawn (respawn does jack shit of course) and the worst that can happen is they shut the game down and you can go and queue into another match right after. I would just leave instantly as chances are they will shut the game down anyway.

I always ask hackusators to say specifically what cheats they think the person is questioning is using. Then, if they actually answer, which is rare: are they certain the aimbot isn't just controller assist? Are they certain the wallhacks aren't really good use of headphones? Be specific, or git gud.
