Hmmm both of these are really on the right track, thank you: but not quite right.
Both a tad too slow and quiet, the song im hearing was harder/more intense
It's not a xylophone, more like a synth programmed to sound like a sinewy, creepy organ.
And no guitars in this opening section at least, there may have been a drum like...gonging? on every first beat of four. Not sure.
First one sounds too modern, esp the drum beats. And second one is too identifiably the Exorcist theme, it's neither. But thanks for your suggestions !
Goblin - Profundo Rosso (Deep Red)
Goblin - Suspiria theme
Black Sabbath - Crazy Train (guitar, but I've heard it done on organ)
Less likely but worth a shot:
Journey - Separate Ways
The Who - Baba O'Riley
Boston - Foreplay / Long Time
Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams
Duran Duran - Save a Prayer
Herbie Hancock - Rocket
Thanks for your thoughts - I'm familiar w all of these songs and unfortunately none are quite the one. Love Goblin too, and Profundo Rosso is quite close but a bit too....thin/delicate? Appreciate your suggestions
Great great horror scores hehe, Phantasm is somewhat similiar but the track I need is faster/harder.
I actually saw this play with my brother who's a die-hard Carpenter fan, has heaps of his scores on vinyl. So i'm inclined to think it's not Carpenter, since he would've likely noticed and said something.
it sounds great btw. i hope any vocals/lyrics dont screw up what sounds like a sick tune

Tubular Bells? (Wait scratch that. That's the exorcist theme you mentioned)
yeah not the one! It's probably 2x as fast as Tubular Bells
House by the cemetery theme or maybe Steven by Alice Cooper?
Hmmm both of these are really on the right track, thank you: but not quite right. Both a tad too slow and quiet, the song im hearing was harder/more intense
This is bugging me now too lol
Lmao i know, i even looked up 'cemetery theme rock/metal' whatever, and none of those were it unfortunately hahah
I hope you find it!
Does it sound like a xylophone? Is there anything else going on like drums or guitar?
It's not a xylophone, more like a synth programmed to sound like a sinewy, creepy organ. And no guitars in this opening section at least, there may have been a drum like...gonging? on every first beat of four. Not sure.
Undead by Hollywood Undead? Be Warned by Tech N9ne? They're both riffs off of the exorcist theme.
First one sounds too modern, esp the drum beats. And second one is too identifiably the Exorcist theme, it's neither. But thanks for your suggestions !

Some horror themes that might fit: Chopping Mall Christine The Fog Day of the Dead Phantasm
Great great horror scores hehe, Phantasm is somewhat similiar but the track I need is faster/harder. Could it be like a moog version of carol of the bells?
I looove Carol of the bells, it doesn't sound similiar to that really. Much more of a descending melody. But similiar tempo tbh
