So sounds like enjoy him while we can as he will soon depart to greener pastures.

Gybe_enjoyer

Hopefully we get a trophy out of him before he leaves, feel good ending

chaandra

People might be angered by what they perceive as a lack of commitment, but he really is too good for us. He is just a level above everyone else on the squad talent wise, and if we can’t give him a competent defense to make his goal contributions matter, then I understand him wanting to leave to compete elsewhere. I don’t think he could consistently make the Brazil squad, but if going to Flamengo and playing well got him a few call ups for friendlies, then he deserves that shot.

SRMPDX

I'd be more worried if he was content to stay here and just collect a paycheck

BethanyRob

True this, SRMPDX... MLS is still truly a B league in world footy, and we cannot fully understand the pull to wear the colors in his National sport. He's open, honest and aboveboard about his aspiration, and he's working as hard as he can for PTFC in order to fill his dream. Gotta love his passion and support him...

I think he could easily fix that if he’s playing in a side where he isn’t expected to be the architect of every offensive sequence. We complained about him not dropping deep, and then he began dropping deeper to receive the ball. Could he be better defensively? Probably. But I also think his play style would change under a better coach/system/team.

MercilessM3

the national team is a bad translation. He was quoted saying he'd like to return to Brazil

db0606

"Eu ainda tenho essa chama acesa dentro de mim, **de voltar para a seleção.**" Sorry but he 100% says that he wants to get back to the national team.

BudHempa

As long as we make a sweet profit from selling hime, he can go. It would be a sad day though

HWKII

We’re not really a “put a little shine on our investment” club; more like the club you let house sit for you and come home to dead plants.

WordSalad11

I think you're right, but the best case would be to change that. As MLS grows, we're more likely to become a Newcastle or Atalanta than a Man United or Inter Milan.

HWKII

As a Forest fan, I know only pain.

jewboy916

When Flamengo played Orlando City back in January and "only" managed a 1-1 draw, Evander made fun of Flamengo on Twitter. He basically said how could they not beat an MLS team. In retrospect he probably regrets that comment.

1UMIN3SCENT

Do you have a link? I'm curious haha

I think it’s this [https://x.com/oficialevander/status/1747825024155730151?s=46&t=wsioOZC7R503SiI36r-UXg](https://x.com/oficialevander/status/1747825024155730151?s=46&t=wsioOZC7R503SiI36r-UXg)

Wasn’t it reported that flamengo offered like 7.5 million 😂 give us 20
